I was awakened by some loud noises of people shouting and screaming. I yawned and stretched my arms before getting out of bed. What was happening?

If only I had a damn window or knew how to open the door. Not knowing what was happening was mentally exhausting.

I was actually hoping that Cameron received my letter and all this ruckus was because of him. It was pretty risky, but the woman seemed to have lost her will to fight against my power. In fact, she would soon come in and bring me my breakfast and by the same time, her report. I smiled, I may be seeing Cameron and my family soon! I patiently waited for her, but even without a clock, I knew she was late. Did she get out of my mind control? Oh no, no, no! Not now! If she did, I may be in deep trouble. I was hoping she didn't actually recall everything I asked her to do. Chosen One or not, I may be killed because of that.

For the first time in a while, I was actually expecting my breakfast more than anything. It has been hours since I woke up and the noises didn't calm down. Why were there so many people shouting and running? As I was laying on the bed with my stomach eating me alive, I waited. I didn't know what I was waiting for exactly. Was I waiting for food? For Cameron? For the hag? I wasn't sure my thoughts were all over the place. I couldn't rationally think with an empty stomach!

When I thought I would die, the woman finally came with my breakfast... Well, more like dinner. I didn't wait for her to tell me the food was here, I just bolted on it, eating everything in a few minutes. Finished, I sighed in contentment.

Then I looked at the woman and she looked horrible. She had dark bags under her eyes, her clothes were dirty and her shoes and accessories didn't match. The sight was actually quite shocking since she always took care of her image with a little too much makeup. Was the situation out there, so bad for them?

"Report," I ordered as I looked at her.

"The letter was successfully delivered," she answered with a tired sigh.

"What's happening outside?" "There has been some activity from the enemy. The grandchild of the head leader got kidnapped. We didn't receive the terms yet, but we are preparing for the worst."

"I see..." I mindlessly said. I was relieved that Cameron was trying to save me, but kidnapping an innocent child? I sighed, I now knew who my mate really is and it had to be expected. I just hoped he wouldn't harm him too much. "Can you take me out of here?" I asked for the hundredth time in a few days.

"I'm afraid I can't. The entire HQ is in lockdown because of the Daemon King threatening the elders family."

"Fine, if the Daemon King successfully infiltrates the building, take him to me. UNDERSTOOD.?"

"Yes..." she mumbled seeming even more drained that before.

"Leave," I said as I watched her walk out.

Every time I used my power, she seemed more and more exhausted. Was it my doing? Did my power had some side effects that I don't know of? I don't remember Cameron saying anything about that... But, I also never used my power on someone for so long. What if it was me who was draining her?! I don't want to kill anyone, but... But I need her to help me escape! Please, Cameron, come get me faster... I miss you...

In less than an hour, another visitor came to visit me. It was strange, I thought only the hag could come in. It was a man, and he had so many muscles on him that it's disgusting. It looked like he could explode at any moment.

"Come with me," he ordered with a gruff tone.

I nodded and slowly walked to him in fear he could hit me. Seriously if he did, he would crush every one of my bones.

He put his hand on my neck making me stiffen. Then he started walking always having his death grip on my neck. I knew he could snap me in half anytime, so I just silently followed him. We entered another room, it was the same room that I first came in, minus the people. He finally, let go of me and pushed me on my knees. Out of nowhere, he took out handcuffs and a long thick chain. He cuffed me and tied me to the ground.

"I wouldn't struggle if I were you," he warned and walked away.

What did he mean by that? To me, this chain and handcuffs looked pretty normal to me. So I tugged on it, to see if it would loosen up. A wave of pain shoot through me. It burned! It was like I got electrocuted! Panting, I didn't move anymore, so I could avoid the pain.

Soon, people started to come in. They were the elders and that arrogant woman was here too. I sighed, another boring meeting...

"Greetings Chosen One," all of them said at the same time.

"I hope you had time to consider our offer," said the woman.

"I was pretty busy doing nothing, so, unfortunately, I forgot about it. What was it again?" I answered with a sarcastic tone.

"Will you side with us to kill the Daemon King?" said another man more impatiently.

"I'm afraid I don't have the power to do so," I innocently smiled at the man.

"Chosen One, your 'mate' has been killing and kidnapping innocent people! Do you still think a monster like that could be forgiven?!" said the woman.

"I got mated with the Daemon King twice. Do you think I wouldn't have done it again if I knew everything he did in the past?" I asked but no one answer so I continued. "In the past and even now, humans and daemons were living together in peace! Every time a war started it was because of you!"

"Chosen One, that was what the Daemon King wanted you to believe, but in fact, humans, our brothers, and sisters, our family were suffering, exploited under the Daemons reign." she accused.

"In the past, I went to town plenty of time to see by my own eyes what was happening and I won't deny it, there was injustice," I admitted making some of them smile. "However! Don't you think that the world we are living in now doesn't have people suffering and being exploited! In fact, you humans are even more disgusting and cruel than the Daemons! Your own brothers and sisters like you said made the poor suffer, even though you call them family," I argued making some of them look at the woman insecurely since they knew I was saying the truth.

"These cases were necessary... In order to let the majority survive, we have to make sacrifices."

"Well, I'm glad you said that because in the past, Daemons constituted 78% of the population, so like you said, the cases back in time were necessary." I accused her. "You only hate being under them! You think you are superior since you believe to some kind of God who created you in his image! Your God doesn't save the thousand of people who died in every war! The Gods you fear and give sacrifices to aren't real! But the Daemons, they are. AND. YOU'RE. GOING. TO. GET. DESTROYED.!"
