(New house^) hope you guys like the first chapter

"Okay, okay I'm up" I say whilst signing. My brother just nods and walks out whilst I stretch and yawn.
I always sign whilst speaking I've done it ever since I learned it .

Today is the day we move to America I'm really looking forward to it because I haven't really got anything here for me to lose. Nobody wanted to be my friend because I'm deaf and everyone looked at me differently. I know I'm always going to be the 'deaf girl' but maybe when we move someone will actually want to be my friend and not just nice to me because I can't hear.

I go to the bathroom and switch on the shower I then brush through my curly hair and get in. I do everything I need to do and go to my closet to get dressed for the airport. I decide on wearing black sweatpants and a white cami top along with my Nike Air Force 1s.
I let my hair dry naturally as I have no time to diffuse and dry it properly.

I head downstairs and see everyone in the kitchen eating breakfast.

"Morning everyone" I sign

"Morning sweetie would you like some breakfast" my mum signs back to me. I usually just sign to my family as it's easier then talking in my opinion.
"Is that even a question?" I sign back laughing and she laughs back

I sit down at the table and take a piece of toast.
"You all ready to go stel" my dad signs. I just smile and nod.

After breakfast we all load the bags into the car and drive to the airport.

My twin brother Cohen literally annoyed me the whole way there either flicking my head or pulling my hair.
I ended up falling asleep as it was 4am in the morning

"Cohen if you don't take your bony ass fingers of me I will hit you" I say and look at him with a harsh glare.

Cohen my twin brother annoys me 24/7 .
He likes to make fun of how I don't look like anyone in the family because my mum, dad and Cohen all have brown eyes and blonde hair and I have light green eyes and brown curly hair.
I got my curly hair from my mum because she too has curly hair but I don't really look anything like my dad. But my dad is my biological dad because trust me we have been down that road and it wasn't a nice discussion

" calm down smelly Stelly" Cohen says.

He knows how much I hate reading people's lips because it's so awkward when they don't know your deaf and they think your just standing there staring at their lips like a creep .

"Cohen don't call me that you twat" I reply back pissed off

"Sorry what was that I can't hear you" he points to his ear and exaggerates the 'hear'.
Ever since I can remember he's always joked about me being deaf.
It actually doesn't bother me because it makes me feel like I'm normal and can play along with jokes like normal friends do . Everyone else doesn't think I can take a joke because I'm deaf and I would be 'upset' but really I just want to joke around and have a laugh.

"Cohen don't talk about your sister like that and Stella don't use that language it's rotten" my mum turns around and signs to both of us.

I just look at Cohen and roll my eyes and he just looks out of the window.

We all make our way into the airport and waited for our flight.

When it was time to board the plane we made our way to first class and took our seats. Not soon after we set of to America ( California).

10 hours later we arrived

"I don't want to set foot on another plane again" Cohen ranted we all just looked at him with an amused look because we always go on holiday every year and he says the same thing every time.

"Whatever Cohen we will see about that when we go on holiday in a few months" I sign laughing
Everyone laughs at what I said including him.

"Your probably right smelly stelly" Cohen turns and sighs towards me I just roll my eyes and carry on walking behind my parents

After we got our luggage we get into our car and drive to our new house ( which felt like it took for ever)

"We're here" my dad signs and says happily at the same time. Me and Cohen get out of the car and stare at our new house.

It was a huge white and creme house with many windows and balconies. In the middle stood a small stare case that lead to double doors and lights were either side of the doors.

"This is sick how did you guys afford this place"Cohen asks with a big grin spread across his face

"Holy shit this is amazing" I said excitedly walking up to my mum and dad so I could read what they were saying

"Well with your dads new job and mine we were able to afford such a nice house" my mum said smiling gleefully at our reactions.

" and with what our family has been through I think we all deserve it" my dad signs at us

" thank you so much I love it I really, really love it" I sign and hug my mum and dad
Cohen does the same and we both run into the house looking around amazed. My parents follow after us.

" you both go and choose your rooms and me and your mum will start getting the things out of the car" my dad signs at us.

Me and Cohen both look at each other at the same time and bolt up the stairs to find the best room.

After searching all the rooms I finally settled with a room with a bathroom and a walk in closet. The house has already put in the buttons on the doors so when someone presses the button on the wall near my door a bright light will flash and I will know to let them in.

I get all of my things and put them into my new room and start unpacking. The necessities have already been set up like my bed and dressing table so I just put all of my clothes away in my wardrobe and put all of my blankets and sheets on my bed.
I then hung up my l.e.d lights and my starry galaxy projector facing at the walls and ceiling.
I put all of my toiletries in the bathroom and makeup on my dressing table.

It was almost 8 pm when I finished the whole of my bedroom and a bright red light went of through out my room it was bright enough to cancel out all of my other colourful lights thankfully.

I opened my door and Cohen stood there.
"Hey Stel dinners done mum said to come and get you"he told me
"Alright I'm coming now" I signed and he just nodded and walked away

"Hey mum what's for tea ?" I said to my mum as she stirred something in a pot.
"Sausage ,mash and gravy " she told me and then I realised that she was mashing the potatoes not stirring
"Oooh nice" I said over dramatically.

We were all sat our the dining room table eating our tea when I felt a vibration through the table I looked up and saw my mum signalling for my attention I nodded and asked what's up.
" so as you both know" she looked at me and Cohen "you will have to attend high school for the last year and I know it's weird because you finished at 16 but its the way they do things here but anyway you guys will be starting a week tomorrow" my mum signed and explained to us

"Thats fine with me" Cohen said not even bothered by this by the slightest

"I guess it's probably best, maybe I will actually find some friends here and not be classified as the 'deaf girl'" I tried to look on the positive side of things instead of just assuming they will hate me because I'm deaf.

"Oh sweetie I'm sure you will find some friends you are kind and amazing and if anyone can't see that they are not worth your kindness if they truly like you they won't care if your deaf"my mum signed to me
It made me think that she's right they aren't worth it if they can't see past me being deaf.

"Thank you mum your right, I'm going to head up to bed now it's been a long day so I love you all goodnight" i said to them and they all said goodnight back

I walked into my room and changed into a loose T-shirt and pyjama shorts. I turned all the lights off and climbed into my bed.
It wasn't long until i was in a deep sleep.

This is the end of the first chapter. I know it was very long but this is my average chapter length. So I hope you guys like it and I will update soon.
