Me and Mila were in the changing rooms getting ready for gym.

I was sat on the bench tying my shoe laces when I felt a tap on my shoulder.

I turned around to be met with a orange tanned, platinum blonde haired girl with huge fake eyelashes.

She looked well...fake.

"Hi can I help you" i asked her.

"Hey I'm Kendall" she said and looked around like she owned the place.

"Okay do you need something" I asked her again.

"No but I'm kinda wondering why you dumped a whole bottle of Dr Pepper on my boyfriend" this time she looked a little mad.

"He was being a dick" I told her straight.

I could see Mila from the corner of my eye with her mouth tipped up into a little smile.

"Talk that way about my boyfriend again and we will have a problem" she stepped a little closer pointing at my face.

"Ok and step closer to me one more time and we will have an even bigger problem"I swatted her hand away after I finished signing and talking to her.

She started laughing because I could see her lips up in a moving smile.
Why is she laughing I don't find it funny?

"What are you laughing at ?" I asked after I had enough.

"Nothing, nothing at all. Bye Ella" she continued laughing and walked away.

The fuck.
She knew what my name was the bitch.

"so you've met the queen bitch. She also likes to pretend Ace is her boyfriend but Ace has never even looked at her" Mila turned and said to me.

"it's not like she's going to do anything" I didn't really care. What's the worst she could do?

Mila and I joined everyone else in the gym.

There was a door right next to the gym that led to the school pool. In my school back in England we didn't have a school pool. The only pool we could go to was in a leisure centre about a couple minutes away.

When everyone was in the gym including Ace and his two mates the gym teacher walked in.

"Hello everyone and today we are going to play a game of dodgeball. But it's with a twist so every time you hear me whistle you have to run to the other side collect as many other balls as you can" when he said that I could see some of the boys with their lips moving which means laughing. Immature. "Then run back and continue to throw them at the other team" when he finished everyone went to get into two teams but I went to the teacher to explain to him how i can't play because I won't hear the whistle.

"Mr Wilson I can't do the activity because I'm deaf and I won't be able to hear the whistle" I explained and signed so it would add more to the explanation.

"Ah your the new girl aren't you" I nodded. "I've been told you were deaf so maybe you could just take this period as a free period if you would like"

"Thankyou. Also sir could I bring Mila with me as I can't hear any bells or anyone talking to me" I pointed at Mila who was standing on her own waiting to be picked into a team.

"Of course" he replies making me smile.

I walk up to Mila who looks at me.

"Hey want to come with me because I can't play this game as I can't hear the whistle" I ask hopeful she will say yes.

"Sure. I hate gym anyway."

As we walk out I feel Aces burning glare at the back of my head. I turn around quickly enough to see him smirk to himself mischievously.

Oh god I hope he doesn't do anything.
He's such a dick.

"So want to go and sit in the pool room on the benches. I love sitting there it's always so peaceful. Plus I love the smell of chlorine." Mila questioned with a hopeful glint in her eyes.

"Okay. I love the smell of chlorine to so it's a win win. But everywhere I go is peaceful as I can't hear shit"I laugh to myself and Mila also laughs.

We make our way next door to the pool room and sit on the benches.

We sit for a while before i see Mila turn to look at me.

"So was you born deaf"she asked.

"um no. I was in a car accident when I was 6 and I have been deaf ever since" she looked sorry but it wasn't a big deal anymore. I have been deaf practically my entire life.

"Oh I'm sorry" a sad look forming on her face. Probably regretting bringing it up.

"It's not a big deal anymore I have learned to live with it" I smiled a little to assure her I was fine.

"What is it like? You know not being able to hear anything"she asked.

"I don't know to be honest. I have been deaf since 6 so I don't really know any different. Sometimes I wonder what it would be like to hear certain things but other than that it's fine" it's true I would like to hear things like my mums voice or my own voice but since it's been so long without any hearing I'm okay without it.

"Well hearing things like bitchy Kendall and her two assholes isn't that great so I guess that's a plus side" she laughs and I laugh along with her.

We spent the rest of the hour just laughing and talking. Mila is really nice I didn't think I would make any friends but I'm glad I did.

"The bell just rang so I have got to go. My mums making me go to my aunts for dinner and we can't be late." Mila said but you could see she didn't want to go to her aunts with the look on her face.

"Aw I bet it's not that bad" I tried not to laugh whilst signing and talking to her.

"She makes me rub her feet after desert"she said with a straight face which instantly made me laugh loudly.

"Okay well I will see you tomorrow"I said hoping she would say yes.

"Of course. Here I will give you my number" and she did. When she left I just sat back down and checked my phone for 5 minutes.

I stood up ready to leave. In the corner of my eye I saw somebody beside me and screamed out of fright.

I looked at who it was and it was Ace with the two boys I saw earlier.

"Oh my god you scared me" I whisper. Or what i thought I did because I obviously couldn't tell.

"So deafy remember when I said that it wasn't over" his lips said. A little bit of fear settled at the pit of my stomach. Normally I wouldn't be scared but with three huge boys in front of me who wouldn't be.

"Well take this as revenge cunt" as the words left his lips he grabbed onto my arms and one of the other boys grabbed onto my legs lifting me up.

Oh no

I looked at the boy who didn't have any hold on me and saw his lips read the words "guys I don't think we should do this" he gave me a look that said sorry before I was lifted higher.

Just before I was thrown in the pool I screamed out "I CANT SWIM"

but it was too late.

I made contact with the water and gasped letting a gush of water down my throat.

I panicked throwing my arms and legs around trying to get to the surface. I couldn't touch the floor of the pool which panicked me even more.

The more I panicked the more water I swallowed. I didn't know what to do I tried to swim to the top but I wasn't going anywhere.

I started feeling drowsy and felt my arms and legs slowing down and stop moving. My lungs filling up with water and my eyes become blurry and blinking slow.

Just before my eyes closed I saw someone. I didn't know who but they grabbed me.

My eyes closed just as we reached the surface.
