"Just pack up while I talk to the alpha." Brennon dropped me off at my shack I call home. We spent quite some time just standing in front of it since Brennon seemed like he couldn't get over the fact that I've lived here all my life.

It was small and ugly.

Like me.

I nodded at him and found that my door was unlocked.

Shoot.

I opened it cautiously, seeing a glimpse of my kitchen completely destroyed before I was suddenly tackled to the cold hard ground.

The impacted knocked all the air out of me but I didn't have anytime to recover before I was yanked up by my hair so I was sitting on my butt, being dragged into the forest. I didn't have the strength in me to scream or struggle so I just sat there like a ragdoll.

It was the three from the diner.

"Don't have that beta to protect your worthless-ass anymore." The one with the black eye grunted, watching me with a malicious glare as the one with a bunch of gauze wrapped around his head and swollen mouth dragged me across the forest floor. I held onto my hair as he dragged me, just to try and ease my pain just a little.

But I was thrown into a tree, and I let out a silent scream. I could already taste the metallic of my blood. My back was aching and burning while I struggled to stand on my feet. I definitely broke several of my ribs considering how my body creaked and cracked as I moved. I started coughing up my blood, my vision already getting blurry as the other one with a cast on his arm swung at me with his good one.

A loud crack noise echoed in the empty forest as his fist connected with the side of my face. I managed to grit my teeth so that they wouldn't break but my mouth filled with my blood upon impact.

I knew somewhere my mate was nearby, he insisted on going to the alpha to speak to him while Brennon dropped me off at home. The two leaders reluctantly, well at least one of them was reluctant, agreed to let me move in. Turns out Clint is third in command as the gamma, and is quite influential in the pack.

I didn't have time to react  when black-eyed upper-cutted my stomach, definitely breaking more ribs. I coughed up more blood, clutching my throbbing stomach and collapsing onto the ground.

"Such a fucking weakling." Bandaged scoffed, coming over to my hunched over form and sending a kick to my already tender stomach. My eyesight was already faltering, everything was going in and out of clear. But something inside me told me to try to keep conscious.

I struggled to crawl away, clawing at the ground to attempt to escape my asulters. But Black-eyed came forward and crushed my hand, loud cracking sounds followed with my gargled screams of pain. My body felt like it was on fire, and my lungs felt like they were filling with blood and not working properly at all.

"What makes you do special." Broken-armed stepping on my back, pinning my delicate body to the ground while yanking my head back by my hair. "You are nothing." He growled into my ear.

I can't move.

I can't breathe.

No one is coming for me.

I'm going to die.

Clint was wrong.

I have no purpose.

Other than to die.

"-er alone." A muffled voice spoke filled with concern and panic.

"Is she going to be alright?" A feminine and soft voice asked, sounding just as worried. "She looks dead."

"She's alive, she's waking up now." Someone who sounded emotionless spoke, "But something's wrong with her, I can't see her soul properly, like it is fuzzed up."

"What the hell does that mean?" A more gruff, deeper voice growled out. His voice was more comforting, yet terrifying. "Is she going to be fine?"

"Yes." The dead voice confirmed, "I believe it's just going to be a while for her to heal fully." He waited a few seconds, "Beta, get her some water she's waking."

"Okay."

I pried my eyes open, looking straight into a faraway pair of ice blue eyes. My mate. Wait, no.

"C-clint?" I squeaked, my voice airy and coarse. A large cold hand was placed gently on my back, helping me sit up as Brennon came over and handed me a glass of water. I drank slowly, feeling the taste of old blood wash down my sore throat. My other hand was wrapped in bandages and my sweatshirt was switched with an oversized t-shirt while my waist, torso, and chest was completely wrapped up.

I looked at Brennon who was avoiding my eyes like he was ashamed of something, and I looked over Axel to avoid his piercing eyes and finally looked at Clint for answers. The luna was standing the furthest away from me, also looking guilty for some reason.

"Your old pack mates have been punished accordingly by the council for abusing and neglecting you." Clint handed me a green liquid, it smelled like cheese and apples. "Drink this, it will help you heal."

I nod, still trying to ignore the stares everyone was giving me. I took the cup and sniffed it again, looking at Clint with  questioning eyes. But I put naive trust in him and drank the neon green liquid.

It burned as soon as it went down my throat.

I hunched over the blanket laid on me, screaming my throat raw as the others seemed to be losing their minds. Brennon had Clint's t-shirt collar while Axel was suddenly by my side, his hands hovering around me like I was something too hot to touch.

I clutched my chest, feeling the burning sensation slowly cool down as did the rest of my body.

I was breathing heavily as my body cooled off and suddenly, I didn't ache anymore.

"What was that?" I heaved out, looking back up at Clint who was staring lifelessly into Brennon's eyes. But the two both looked at me as I was covered in sweat and my breathing calmed.

"It was the reversal serum to your medicine. It shouldn't have hurt that much, but I guess since you've been taking that medicine all your life, your body tried to reject the serum." Clint pried Brennon's hands from his collar and walked over to me, crouching next to Axel who has been oddly quiet this whole time. Clint's cool hand was placed on my forehead, it felt nice but it was freezing when compared to me. "It seems you just have a fever, I recommend you just rest for a while."

I nod, sending Brennon a comforting smile. "How long have I been out?" My voice was still quiet, and my throat sore from screaming again.

"4 days." Clint answered bluntly, "But in that time you've been fully moved into the pack house which is nearby to the alpha's home." Clint looked briefly at Axel then back to me. I guess he knows, from using his powers or something. "We are actually in the infirmary on the other side of the territory." Clint looked at his watch. He seemed much older than all of us, especially since he's no longer in that waiter-outfit. He's now sporting a plain black t-shirt and black jeans with bright red sneakers.

Clint took my hand suddenly and I felt conscious of Axel's eyes, now glaring at our connected hands. Clint ignored him and started taking off my bandages.

"Thank you." I whisper, feeling tears threaten to fall at how gentle he is being with me.

"No problem," he mumbles, "Now take off your shirt so I can take off the rest."
