"Alpha, she's fine, it's just a side effect." Clint's voice was muddled, but still audible. "Mable will be fine." He coughed, "I think."

There was loud shuffling as I tried to sit up to see what was happening. I was back in my room, and in front of me was Axel in a new outfit and gripping Clint's shirt collar while Brennon rushed to my bedside to help me sit up.

"You okay?" Brennon shoved some of my pillows behind me, and then proceeded to feel my forehead. "You don't have a fever but I think you should rest." He turned out sharply, completely ignoring the two men behind him who were still bickering but more in each other's faces. "Water?" He held up a glass to my face, letting me drink it slowly as I tilted my head back slowly.

"Thank you." I wheezed, leaning back more relaxed. I watched as Clint gripped Axel's hands, pushing the mighty alpha off who just let go of his shirt collar and stormed off - not before he quickly glanced at me. "Clint are you okay?" I sat up more comfortably.

"Yeah," he looked down at his shirt collar and groaned, "I need another shirt, be right back."

I smiled a little, watching him run off.

"Is it true?" Brennon asked as soon as my door closed, "That you're Axel's mate?"

I was silent just for a second, "Yes." I figured that Brennon deserves my honest answer. "Though he rejected me so I guess we aren't anymore."

Brennon's eyes widened, "He-he what?" Brennon slumped on my bed, looking at me with disbelief. "B-but why?"

I smile, a sad smile, "Well just look at me, Brennon." I felt my eyes watered a little, "I am pathetic." My voice started failing me, breaking and cracking, "I am small and weak and plain. I was never good at anything, still am not. I can't fight. I can barely cook. I cannot speak to people properly for the life of me." I felt a single tear run down my cheek, "Even my own mate hates me."

"That's not true Mable." Brennon looked at me with empathy. "You are more than you know."

"You're just saying that," I mumbled, sighing a little, "I should go soon. The alpha is probably going to kick me out."

"No he isn't, I won't allow it." Brennon patted me on my depressed head, "I promised you'd be safe here."

"I'm a distraction to the alpha and an enemy to the luna." I sniff, "I'll probably have to leave sooner or later."

Brennon was silent, not commenting on it.

"I figured you'd think so lowly of my son." A soft yet velvety voice came from the doorway. I looked up to see beautiful woman with golden locks and bright blue eyes. She had a body of a model and the face to match it, looking barely older than I am.

"L-luna Kara!" Brennon shot up, bowing his head in respect for the old luna. "I didn't see you there!"

I sat there, staring at her shamelessly. I couldn't bother with respect, my body still felt heavy and my mind was clearer than ever.

"Brennon, will you be a dear and go get some soup for this lovely lady?" Luna Kara walked in, standing just on the other side of my bed while Brennon got up frantically and ran off. "Now, Mable was it?"

"Yes Luna Kara." I mumbled, staring blankly at her.

"I never thought I would meet a black wolf in person," she sat on my bed smiling at me, "You are quite beautiful."

I just continued my stare, not feeling anything from her comments.

"A pureblood," She reached out, tugging gently on my hair to let me see it.

Midnight black.

Dropping my hair, she just smiled even warmer than me. "Don't worry, your secret is safe with me." She just continued sitting and smiling at me, sitting and smiling. "You know, I like you better than that Pheona girl or Phoebe-child. She's just so clingy to my son."

I found some humor in that, smiling just a tad, "She's isn't that bad, is she?"

"Oh she speaks!" Her smile grew, "But she really is. She picks fights with the girls in our pack, trying to provoke them into a fight so they would get kicked out." She leaned forward, cupping her mouth like she was about to tell me a deep secret. "She likes to befriend them first, to make my son think she's an angel, then she ruins them so they would try and attack her."

So that's why she was so friendly to me. "Why are you telling me all this?" I tilt my head, feeling my body slowly grow lighter. Like magic. "What are you doing to me?" I look down at my hands, wiggling my fingers with ease.

"Just giving you some of my energy," She smiled, parting the side of her long flowing locks to show me some pure white strands, "I was hoping to give you a more of a proper tour around the pack and maybe you can meet some of our members."

"Why?" I frown, "No one would want to meet a feeble omega."

"Well that's not true!" Some brunette with bouncy brown curls ran into my room with toothpaste coming out of her mouth making her look rabid. "I would love to get to know you!" She was about to pounce on my bed, but one look from the luna got her to back down like an obedient puppy.

"Rachel, you've got something there." The luna smiled, pointing to the corner of her own lips.

"Oh!" She wiped her mouth violently with the back of her baby-pink sweater sleeve.  "My bad." She gave me a boyish smile, "Sorry 'bout that," She winked, not in a flirtatious way but more of a sassy one, "I'm Rachel!"

"H-hello." My shy nature was suddenly revived with this hyper girl. I never know how to handle myself with people like her. She just seem so energetic and bubbly as opposed to me. "I'm Mable." I quickly glanced at the luna who was just smiling at me warmly, like a proud mother would to her daughter.

"Nice to meet'cha!" Rachel lifted her hand, sitting on my bed, right on my feet. I slowly slipped my hand in her surprisingly rough and calloused grip. She shook my whole arm violently, not enough to hurt me but enough to quite literally shake me up. "I'm so glad such a beautiful girl is my luna!"

I stiffened, both the girls noticing immediately.

"I don't think I'll ever be a luna." My voice was tight, audibly cracking and strained. "Besides, I don't think I'll be staying here much longer."
