"Nathan, I swear, if you damage that mirror I'm going to give you the silent treatment for a month." Avery cautioned as Nathan and Bryan struggled to get her oversized mirror up the stairs. It wasn't their fault that the elevator was apparently not included in the lease and was perpetually out of order. They had carried the mirror up three flights of stairs as a result.

"Babe, it's Bryan." Nathan reassured her.

"Uh, it's definitely not me, man." Bryan hoisted his side a bit higher to prove his point.

Alexander dawdled behind them, carrying two boxes of my books with ease. His arms were enveloped around the bottom box and I could see the shape of his muscles bulging beneath his t-shirt. He saw me looking at him and winked at me as he passed. I turned extremely red in return and I could hear a chuckle come out of him.

Avery had elected herself as manager, which basically meant that she had validated her right to boss everyone around about where to place boxes and furniture. "Guys, I don't think I'm feeling the couch here." I could hear a loud groan coming from Nathan. Avery ignored him, "Nathan, can you come move this to the window on the opposite side?"

He let out a huff, "Of course, babe."

Avery whipped out her cleaning supplies, strapping on her yellow rubber gloves before getting on her hands and knees to clean the floor with a sponge. She was probably having the time of her life doing it, too.

We finished bringing in all the boxes and Nathan collapsed on the old grey couch we had managed to snag at a thrift store in exhaustion.

"Nathan, do you mind moving my bed to the opposite side of the room with me?" Avery called from the door of her room.

Nathan sighed before heaving his body off the couch to get to Avery's room. Bryan and Alexander sat on the couch in his place and Nathan shot them a jealous stare as he walked by.

Alexander checked his phone, "We need to get the truck back soon. It's due at eight."

Bryan stood up, "I have to get to work."

I nodded, "Thank you so much for helping, Bryan. I really appreciate it."

He smiled at me, a rarity in his case, "Don't mention it."

Alexander patted him on the back as he walked out, "Want to come with me?" He asked, "I left my bike at the rental place and I'm starving."

"Yeah, I'm ravenous." I stood up stretching my arms over my head and taking in my new home. It had a small kitchen with a few bare cupboards, two island stools, our tattered couch, and an old coffee table, but it was ours.

I walked to Avery's room to see if she wanted food and knocked, "Avery? Alexander and I are grabbing food, do you guys want any?"

I heard giggling through the door, "No thank you!" Came the reply.

I walked quickly back to Alexander and grabbed his arm leading him out the door with wide eyes, "let's go, let's go, let's go."

He chuckled, following along, "What's going on?"

"Avery and Nathan are christening the new room." I stated as he laughed.

Alexander and I returned the truck and rode his bike back to his apartment, waiting on the Chinese food we had ordered. I figured I'd give Avery a bit of time before going back.

Alexander unlocked the door to his apartment and opened the it for me as I walked inside. He dumped his keys and wallet in a bowl next to the door.

"I want to show you something," he stated before taking my hand in his and leading me to his bedroom.

He opened the door to his room and the familiar scent of Alexander wrapped around me. His room was just as cozy as I'd remembered it, with pieces of him strewn all around in the form of drawings, carvings, and books.

Alexander reached onto a shelf above his desk, pulled out a wooden box and handed it to me. "It's for you."

I held the rectangular object in my hands. It had carvings of different kinds of flowers all over the top. I ran my fingers over the carefully crafted carvings in awe of the work that went into it. The side of the box had a cylinder bar handle. I cranked the handle a few times and opened it to hear a soft acoustic of la vie en rose play. On the inside, my name was engraved in cursive lettering. It was the most beautiful music box I'd ever seen. I felt tears spring into my eyes at the thought of the amount of time this must have taken Alexander.

I looked up and saw him looking sheepishly at me. He looked at the music box I was holding delicately in my hands, avoiding my awestruck gaze. "It's not much. I just thought of you when I heard the tune and figured you could put stuff in it if you wanted or just put it on a shelf, or stuff it in a draw-"

I wrapped my arms around him with my music box in one hand, and brought my lips passionately to his. He was unmoving for just a moment before his arms enveloped my body tightly and his lips began to move against mine. His soft, plush lips felt incredible moving against my own, sending butterflies throughout my entire body. My heart was beating so rapidly I thought I might faint. His hands slid down my lower back to my thighs to hoist me up against him and I wrapped my legs around his torso, lips still interconnected. I pulled back for a moment and he held me around his body while he sprinkled kisses to my forehead, my cheeks, my chin. My eyes fluttered shut as I enjoyed the feel of his lips anywhere on me.

When I opened them, I saw his green eyes, deep with emotion staring me back. My cheeks flushed in embarrassment as I let my legs fall off of him but he kept me tightly wrapped in his arms so our bodies were flush against each other, both of our chests heaving from breathlessness.

He placed his forehead against my own, "You have no idea how long I've waited to do that, baby," he rasped, kissing the tip of my nose.

"This is the nicest thing anyone has done for me, Alexander. You're the kindest person I've ever known." I brought the music box to my chest and clung onto it delicately.

He smiled at me with that smile that I had grown to love more than anything. It was constant and reassuring, never arrogant or demanding. He gave a light kiss to my lips before replying, "You deserve more. You deserve everything."
