Something Special (part three)

Julie's pov:

"Julie!!!!!!!!!" Before I could even blink, the sound of my front door is being slammed open, causing me to drop the can of Pringles in my hand in shock.

"Oh not her again." I giggle at my dads remark as he moves out of the way, giving Gianna the space to rush past him and towards me, engulfing me in a hug.

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry." She repeats over and over while squeezing me to death.

To be honest, I felt bad.

Typically, when something is bothering me or I feel like I'm overthinking, she's the person who I can find myself trusting and being able to talk to.

It's just Gianna's personality. She always knows what to say and she can cheer you up instantly when you are down.

Maybe if I would have talked to her about it from the start this whole fiasco could have been avoided.

But I guess there is nothing that I can do about it now.

"Apology accepted if you give me the chance to breath." I joke, coming back to reality.

She quickly let's go at my words, "The thing is I knew that following along with the boys was a bad idea in the first place! I should have listened to the voice in the back of my head telling me it was wrong when Ashton told us to go on a separate group chat to finish the final touches of the plan. But I promise that it was all good intentions and none of us wanted you to get hurt in the process-..." she continues to ramble but I cover her mouth with my hand, giving her a small smile showing her that it was okay.

"I know, I know. When Ashton apologized earlier he told me everything. I understand that it was just a mistake and none of you meant any harm. Plus, you know how the boys are, once they have their minds on something, the rest of their brain tends to... shut down." I take my hand away from her mouth as she chuckles at my comment.

"I couldn't agree with you more. I just wish I took that into consideration when I followed along with them."

"I promise, I'm not upset at you or anyone for that matter. I just feel bad because I ruined the whole date. Ashton had this huge surprise planned and I ruined it because I was too quick to judge the situation."

She shakes her head while putting a hand on my shoulder, "It's not your fault at all! If I was put in your shoes I probably would have done the same. Sure, there may have been more... physical pain on the boys part if it was me, but nevertheless I would have been hurt."

I chuckle, her words touching my heart as I pull her in for another hug, "This is why you're my bestfriend, you always know what to say... even if it frightens me a little bit."

She laughs, "And this is why you are my best friend, you are able to put up with my craziness. But as much as I would like to continue this and be more sentimental, you've got a boyfriend whose expecting you in less than an hour and I've gotta get you glamorous."

...

"Are you saying that I wasn't already glamorous to begin with?"

"Shush."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Nooooooooooooooooooo" I run around my house as Gianna chases me, lipstick in hand, and a deadly look in her eyes.
"COME BACK HERE!!!!" She says, hot on my tail as I hurdle over the coach.
Wow.
I'm freakin cool.
...
And freakin dead.
"I don't like lipstick!!! It's gross!!!"
"I don't care!!! It compliments your hair, eyeshadow, and outfit perfectly!!!"
Looking back at her, I see her catching up to me as she runs around the couch.
"But it's messy!!! It gets every where and-..." my words are cut off as I end up running straight into my living room wall.
Gianna ends up clutching her stomach while falling to the ground dramatically, bursting into a fit of laughter, "How even-..."
"Oww..." I wince rubbing my forehead.
"I would question how you ended up running into a wall but this isn't the first time-..."
"HEY!!!" I whine, cursing Ashton for telling all our friends the real story of how our first conversation went.
Let's just say that everyone was basically crying from how hard they were laughing at the truth.
But I mean... did they really expect anything less from me?
"That's what you get for running away from your destiny."
"What destiny?"
"This!" She holds up the lipstick, while I glare at the little tube in her hand.
"But it's-..."
"Gross, sticky, I know. But once it is on I promise-..."
"No."
"Julie-..." she whines, standing up and walking towards me before pulling me up from the ground.
"Let me at least make sure that there isn't a bruise. Your date night could turn into my funeral if there is one." She says, examining my forehead before letting out a sigh of relief.
"No lipstick?" I pout, giving her my best puppy eyes.
She looks at the lipstick before looking back at me, letting out a sigh, "Fine! I won't make you wear it, but at least wear the dress I picked out for you."
She walks towards the duffel back that she brought in and pulls out a neatly folded summer dress.
It was a light shade of pink, the same color of the lip gloss, which is probably why she was so persistent on me putting it on.
"It's so pretty!" I couldn't help but stare at it dreamingly, taking the dress from her hands while examining it closer.
"Thank goodness you think so. As soon as I saw it at the mall, I knew that it would look perfect on you."
My eyes snap up to hers, "Wait how much was it? I will pay you back-..."
She quickly cuts off my words, "Actually, it was all Ashton's money. He wanted me to find you the perfect outfit tonight, no matter the cost."
My heart clenches at her words, looking back at the dress with a small smile dancing on my lips.
You really are something huh, Ashy Pashy
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I feel my hands start to get shaky as I look out the window of the car.

Not knowing where Gianna was taking me for my date with Ashton, I was hoping this would give me some sort of hint.

But the only thing that I could get an understanding of was that we were going north and were getting farther and farther away from civilization.

I don't mean to sound dramatic but this is exactly what happens in murder movies.

NOT that I think that will happen!!!!!

Heh...

"Are we almost there yet?"

Gianna glances towards me, "Why? You nervous?"

She smirks as I look down at my lap, embarrassed that it was probably completely noticeable.

"Maybe... yes. Ahhhhh!!! It's just, this is like our first 'official date' and I really want things to go smoothly... you know, dismissing how this whole entire day went, I want tonight to be... perfect."

I felt even more embarrassed for saying that out loud.

Is it even normal to feel this nervous??!

I see and spend time with Ashton almost every single day.

We've hung out so many times before, but now that it's labeled a real date, I suddenly feel pressured to not make a complete fool out of myself.

Even though that's already happened multiple times...

*cough* the ninja rolling incident *cough*

"Awwww it's okay to be nervous, you're not the only one. You should have seen the look on your boyfriend's face when we were setting up, the boy actually looked like he was about to crap himself." She bursts into a fit of laughter, recalling the memory in her head.

But I was more taken aback by her words.

"That nervous?!"

She nods her head, "Oh yeah... I never thought I'd see the day where Ashton was actually nervous for something. It was really a sight for sore eyes."

Her words make me think about the first time I saw him acting nervous, which was when he asked me to be his girlfriend.

Good times, good times.

"We are here!!!" Gianna says as we pull up to a beautiful lake.

The scenery was breathtaking as all you saw was the woods that stood tall around the lake, making it feel hidden from the rest of the world.

"But where is-..." my voice draws out as I look ahead to see a dock at the end that was lit up with candles running down its sides and at the end there was a beautifully set up table with two chairs facing one another that overlooked the lake.

I then turn my gaze back to straight in front of us, where all the boys stood, waiting for our arrival.

But what surprised me was not only was Ashton dressed up, but all the boys were too.

Gianna parks right in front of them as Ashton rushes to my side, opening the door for me with a huge grin on his face.

"You look beautiful." He says, looking me up and down causing me to blush from his stare.

"And you look very handsome." I say as he takes my hand in his and leads me towards the rest of the boys.

"Hey guys-..." I'm not even able to finish my sentence as I'm engulfed in a big group hug by all of them.

"We love you little J, and we are all so sorry about today." Zander says as they all mutter apologizes.

My heart swells at all their sorry's, remembering all that Ashton told me about how the boys reacted to me being upset and what they would do to see me.

"Please don't feel bad, I'm not mad at you guys. Ashton told me that you guys all risked getting in trouble just to see me and I'm really touched by that. Thank you."

I pull back as they all look at me, small smiles gracing their faces at my words.

"Julie you are our best friend, who cares what trouble we could have gotten into." Jake says.

Luke continues, "Yeah, we all care so much about you and no amount of detentions could stop that."

"Knowing that you weren't mad at us would have made the detentions all worth it anyways." Damien finishes as I feel my eyes start to water from all their sweet words.

"I love all of you so much, you guys are the greatest group of friends that anyone could ask for." I say, looking at each one of them in the eyes, grateful that I could call each one of them a friend of mine.

Ashton squeezes my hand, "And as great of friends that they are, meet our waiters for tonight."

At Ashton's words, they all give a silly bow, making me laugh.

Instantly taking the opportunity, I look at Jake, "Never thought I'd see the day where Jake was actually serving me-..."

"WAITERING!!! It's waitering... which is different." He says, crossing his arms playfully as we all laugh.

"But I have to say this place is beautiful, how did you come up with this spot?" I ask Ashton, who slowly pulls me away from the boys and down the path of candles to the table at the edge of the dock.

"Let's just say I have my ways, beautiful." He winks at me, pulling out the chair for me to sit before sitting in his own, grabbing my hands in his again, caressing then with his thumbs.

"You know, Zander is probably having a heart attack right now seeing this." I find myself whispering as we both take a sneaky glance back at Zander who indeed had pulled out...

Author's Note: someone's going to make that line dirty I can feel it *sprinkles holy water*

Let's be honest, whose even surprised at this point...

A pair of binoculars.

Seeing us looking at him, he quickly hides them behind his back and walks back towards the boys, who were huddled around a grill to make the food.

"Do they even know how to-..." I question as I squint my eyes trying to see if they even knew how to turn that thing on.

"God I hope so." He says, squeezing my hands, making me laugh.

"But seriously, I want to thank you for setting this up. I would have been happy with anything you would have thrown at me, because as long as we are together, I'm grateful." I say as he stares at me lovingly, his pearly white teeth on display for the world to see as a smile not once left his lips.

"How did I become so lucky to have you as my girlfriend?" He says, making me laugh.

"Well for starters, I think you were the one who caused the neighbors who lived in my house before me to move."

He laughs, "Hey! Listening-..."

"Blasting..."

"Blasting music at 3:00am shouldn't be the reason to make someone move."

"Are you sure about that..." I ask playfully as he nods his head.

"Okay... maybe after calling the cops three times they ended up having enough... BUT!!! If that never happened, there could have been a chance we never ended up meeting."

I had to give him credit for that, "I still find it weird how our parents already knew each other, like what are the chances?"

"I know, the chances that our neighbors left around the same exact time that your parents wanted to move back to where they grew up honestly amazes me. But it's weird to think that there was a chance that our moms gushed over the thought of having their kids end up together."

"My ears are still recovering from their screams when we told them we were dating."

He's about to say something else until the sound of shouting is heard, causing us to look at the boys who were running around, trying to put out a fire that they set on the grill.

"I'm starting to regret asking them to waiter."

I laugh, "What? I think it's cute having the boys waiter for us, how did you come up with that idea?"

"To be honest, at first, I had everything set up so that it would be just us. But after today, I learned how far the boys would go for you, for us. It made me realize that there is nothing in the world more memorable than having our first 'official' date surrounded by the people that have been with us since the beginning of our journey together. Even though I would like it to be just us some other time, I just felt like the first one had to be extra special." He says, looking down with a small blush on his cheeks, causing butterflies in my stomach.

"Ashton...that's so sweet."

He covers his face with his hands, "I'm not used to this. You know, this whole being a good boyfriend thing. Before I was all cocky-..."

"So cocky..."

"-... and although I never treated people poorly, I did tend to only consider my own feelings. But now, it's your feelings that what matter the most to me, and I'm always thinking of ways to make sure you are happy. You mean a lot to me Julie, and I can't wait to spend my future with you."

My eyes glisten at his words, and standing up from my chair, I walk around the table and towards him, taking a seat on his lap to pull him into a hug, to which he returns, resting his head on the top of mine.

"I love you." I whisper, my face against his chest, feeling the quick beat of his heart.

"I love you too." He says, taking my chin in his hand and connecting my lips in his for a passionate kiss

And I can't wait to spend my future with you too, Ashton.

For forever and always
