"Yeah, yeah, so he said that he loved me! I have never had the guy say it first!"

Sarah and I were laying on our backs in my room, listening to (can you guess it??) pop music. 

We're back on good terms. And I missed her. I did. I felt that old yearning in my heart that had started to go away when I was spending more time with... never mind. 

"That's so sweet!" I yelled. I had started to feel a buzz. My mom was gone at work and wouldn't be back until morning, so we got into the small stash of canned cocktails she had in the fridge. 

She turns and looks at me, and I do the same. 

She loses her smile. "Do you love me?"

I could have lied. I could have said 'yes, of course, you're like a sister.' I could have stayed silent.

But I didn't. It was time.

"Yes."
