"Hey," she breathed on the other end of the phone.
I smile and close my eyes. "Hey. Are you looking at the stars?"
"No," she says, then pauses. "Why?"
"You should look at them," I murmur.
I hear shuffling. "Okay. I'm- oh, wow."
Shooting stars dash across the sky.
"You wanna come over?" I ask.
She giggles. "Mia, it's past midnight."
"I know," I say quietly.
I hear her breathing, considering. "Okay. I'll be over."
"I'm in my backyard," I tell her and hang up.
Fifteen minutes later, we're curled together, eyes darting between each other and the sky.
"It's cold," she breathes. "Are you cold?"
I pull her closer, not even worrying about seeing the sky. "Not anymore."
She smiles and I see her blush in the moonlight.
"God, I love you Olivia."
She takes me in with those beautiful forest green eyes and I do the same to her. Porcelain skin, dark, nearly black, hair. Her soft curves, petite figure. I wait to hear the words from her pink, plump lips.
At last, she quietly murmurs, "I love you."
