So I finally figured out who I want to play Athena and Leo. Playing Leo is Lucky Blue Smith but with black hair. Playing Athena is Thylane Blondeau. I haven't figured out who will play Via and the others but I will soon.

You don't have to imagine my characters as these people, this is just how I imagine them.

(If you don't know who they are look them up. They were as close as I could get for how I imagine my characters to look.)

---

"I'm sorry."

I gaped at Leo, completely stunned by his words. He never apologizes. The last time he did was 6 years ago the day his mother died. Even then, he was forced to. "What?" I whispered, unsure if this was all real, or some crazy weird dream.

"I said I'm sorry. All the things I did to you in the past were horrible. I acknowledge that, but that was a long time ago. After spending 6 years in France, I have changed. It may not seem like it, but trust me I have. All that time with just my father and grandmother made me realize some things."

"Life can easily be taken for granted. While I was over there, my grandmother got sick and almost died, but luckily she is okay now. Her brush with death made me realize that I need to make up for my past mistakes. I'm not asking you to completely forgive me. I know that won't happen for a long, long time. But I hope at the very least you will accept my apology and be friendly towards me. You don't know how much it would mean to me if you would accept my apology. I've been wanting to apologize for years but didn't know how. I know this may not be the best time to apologize for everything but I couldn't hold it in any longer. I am truly, deeply sorry."

The closet went silent as I thought about what he said. He was right in a way. In order to have a future, you have to overcome your past no matter what it is. What good is it really doing me holding on to this grudge of mine? It's not getting me an A in any of my classes, it's not getting me into college. There's no point. Holding a grudge will make you miss all the opportunities that are right in front of your face because you'll be stuck in the past.

"Okay, I will accept your apology on one condition. You have to swear to me that you will never be mean to me ever again. The minute you break that promise is the minute I stop talking to you. Are we clear?" I asked. Honestly, I'm still not sure if I should forgive him or not, but one small step at a time.

His eyes lit up with happiness as he nodded his head. The corner of his lips started to tug up into a smile, but then somebody opened the closet door. It was Via. "What are you doing in here? We need to leave." Before I could protest, she grabbed my wrist and yanked me out of the closet, slamming the door shut behind us.

As we walked through the house, I saw people scrambling to get out all around us. "What's going on Via?" I asked. I had never been to a real party before, but even I could tell that something was majorly wrong. "One of the neighbors called the cops and they are on their way." As soon as she said that the sound of sirens and the sight of blue and red flashing lights filled the street. "COPS!" Somebody shouted.

Anybody who wasn't already rushing to get out of there was definitely rushing to get out of there now. The house quickly became a stampede of drunk teenagers stumbling their way out of the house. "This way," Via motioned as she pulled me into the backyard. Some people had the same idea as us and were cutting through the backyard too.

When the police cars arrived at the house, everybody really went crazy. People where literally running other people over trying to get away from the cops. Somebody bumped into a vase of flowers and it came crashing to the ground. People stepped around the broken vase, the girls running as fast as they could in their heels. If it wasn't for the police threatening to arrest everyone I would have stopped and laughed at the sight of drunk teenagers trying to talk their way out of an arrest.

It was really amusing.

One of the police officers shouted "Stop running! It's doing you no good. If you resist arrest, you will face charges!"Once we got past the backyard, Via zig zagged through multiple people's yards in an attempt to get away.I saw other people doing the same. In the distance I saw two figures climb into a nearby treehouse. That actually wasn't a bad idea. As long as nobody saw you go up there you probably wouldn't be found.

After 5 minutes of running, my adrenaline finally started to where off. "W-wait. C-can we t-t-take a b-break?" I was breathing heavily right now and I didn't know how much longer I would be able to last. "Okay. We can walk back to our car. Since we are a couple blocks away from where we parked, by the time we walk their the cops should be gone."

I'm praying to god that Via is right. I don't want to see the inside of a police station ever again. In the time we arrived at the party until the time we arrived at our car, a chill had settled in the air, signalling that fall isn't far behind. I shivered as I hopped from foot to foot waiting for Via to unlock the car. Neither one of us had drank tonight, so we should be good to go. Once she found the keys and started the car, I hopped in, grateful for the heater.

As we drove away, I saw that the police were putting people in handcuffs and were dragging them to the police car. We really got lucky tonight.

---

When we got home, my father asked us how the movie was. Yeah, I lied to my dad. I know it's not the best thing to do, but if he knew where Via and I really went he would ground us for life. I told him that it was good, but that it tired me out and I was going to bed. Via said the same and followed me upstairs. It wasn't exactly a lie. The night had taken a toll on me, but luckily it was Saturday night and I could sleep in tomorrow. As soon as I got in my room, I walked over to my closet and pulled out a pair of pajama shorts and a white tank top.

I really needed a shower right now to get the smell of sweat and alcohol off of me. I'm surprised my dad didn't smell it the moment I walked in the door. When I walked in the bathroom, I turned on the shower to a scalding hot temperature and stripped my clothes.

The shower felt extremely good. It washed away all the dirt and sweat from tonight. Once I was done rinsing my hair and washing my body, I stepped out and wrapped a towel around my body. My hair was leaving a trail of water droplets as I walked over to the clothes I set out on my bed. I changed quickly and then laid down on my bed, looking up at the ceiling.

The little glow-in-the-dark star stuck to the ceiling directly above my bed. I don't know why I still have that. I should have gotten rid of that a long time ago. The star itself was associated with one of my memories of Leo. I remember that day like it was yesterday. Leo making me fall, Via comforting me, Leo's mom taking pictures the whole time. I miss those days even if I was bullied by Leo. Everything was so much easier when I was a kid.

That day was only one of the countless times that he has humiliated me. The more I think about the promise he made tonight, the more I realize that he is right.

I can't let my past affect my future. I have to keep pushing through even if everything seems impossible. That's one thing Leo taught me tonight. Monday's a new day, and I will do my best to be friendly to him. I'm only praying that he keeps up his end of the deal.

---

Before I knew it, it was Monday and I had to get ready for school. Right now I didn't feel like digging through my closet to find something to wear. So, I threw on a pair of black leggings, an over-sized hoodie, and my white Adidas. Once I was fully dressed and ready for school, I headed downstairs with my backpack slung over my shoulder.

Via was already dressed and sitting at the counter eating a bowl of cereal. "Morning sleepy head. There's a bowl of cereal waiting fro you next to Via," my dad said as he grabbed the milk out of the fridge. "Thanks," I replied as I sat down. In the bowl was my favorite cereal of all time, Reese's Puffs. The chocolate and peanut butter mix so well. My dad and Via both hate it, but I love it.

By the time I finished my cereal, it was time for school. My dad wished us a good day and started to make a pot of coffee as we left. I swear, one of these days he's going to overdose on caffeine from drinking so much coffee. Oh well, he's never going to change.

The ride to school was filled with chatter about the party. Apparently, 10 people had gotten arrested at the party for underage drinking and resisting arrest. One of them even got charged for hitting an officer. Luckily, we got out in time. Via said that right after we left the cops started patrolling the near by neighborhoods for drunk teens wandering around.

The school parking lot was filling up, so Via pulled into the closest spot she could find. I got out of the car and slung my backpack over my soldier making my way towards the entrance. Via was following close behind me when a tall figure stepped in front of me, blocking the sun from my view. "Hello, Athena and Via."

I looked up to see Leo staring down at me. Be nice, be nice. "Hey Leo. We were just on our way to class,"I replied. "Well, why don't I walk you to Anatomy since I have that class too." I nodded my head and he stepped to the side and started walking with me. Via and I said our goodbyes at the bottom of the stairs and parted ways.

"Glad to see you didn't get arrested on Saturday night. After my sister pulled you out of the closet I had no idea what happened to you guys. I was worried." I stopped in the middle of the stairs and looked at him. I knew he would be worried about his sister, but he was worried about me too? This felt strange. I didn't know how to reply. He grabbed my upper arm and pulled us off to the side.

"I really am sorry for everything, and I intend to keep my promise," Leo whispered in my ear. I could feel his hot breath fanning my ear and it sent shivers down my spine. Please don't let him notice that. "I know," I said. He backed up a little bit, and my breathing returned to normal. We continued on our way to Anatomy.

The halls were crowded like usual so Leo and I kept bumping into each other since we were walking side by side. Strangely enough I didn't mind how close we were.

When we arrived at class, Leo took a seat in the back and I took a seat in the middle. The bell rang a couple minutes later and the last of the students filed in, already looking tired. The teacher followed soon after, with a stack of papers in his hand. "Alright class. The syllabus was due today. Please pass it to the front."

I dug it out of my backpack and handed it to the person in front of me. "Today we will be getting a seating chart. This will be who you sit with for the rest of the year." A chorus of groans were heard throughout the room as Mr. Walters announced this. I hope I don't get stuck with somebody who expects me to do all the work.

"...the last pair of lab partners is Leo and Athena," the teacher stated. Hey, it could have been worse. I wasn't too happy about being partnered up with him, but I would do my best. "Looks like your stuck with me for the rest of the year," Leo whispered in my ear as we both took our seats at the back of the class.

The rest of the class, the teacher explained the experiment we would be doing on Wednesday. We would be cutting open a couple different insects. The graded part of it was seeing how many organs you could correctly identify. There was a lot, and you got bonus points if you could take the whole brain out without destroying anything.

The whole point of this lab was to see how much we remembered from past science classes, and to get us familiarized with the equipment and our lab partner. This lab would only be worth 5% of our grade, but it was our first graded assignment. Hopefully, I can do well. I need to pass this class in order to graduate.

Towards the end of class, our teacher gave us a reading assignment in our textbooks that he gave us last week. Read pages 315-320 on different animal organ systems. It wasn't that bad. Once the bell rang, I stuffed all the papers from this class into my backpack and darted out the door. This class was kind of boring and I wanted to get to my next class.

I sped walked right out of the classroom and towards my French class. The moment I reached the door, I heard a voice call out to me.

"Hey, wait up AJ."

My whole body tensed at the familiar nickname.

-----

What does Athena mean when she says she doesn't want to go to the police station again? Who called her AJ?
