Turns out it was Via at my door.

She just wanted help with some math problem on her homework.

That night, I stared at my ceiling thinking about everything. There has to be a way I can tell someone without my stalker finding out.

I could slip a note to Via maybe? Ugh! This sucks. I rolled over to my side and checked the time. 2:13 am.

Great, I have to be up in 4 hours for school and I've had less than an hour of sleep. Since this stalker situation started, I haven't gotten that much sleep. My mind's been too preoccupied with thinking about who it could be.

I had no idea. That was the worst part.

---

The next morning was Friday and I was ready for this day to be over so I would get a break from school, even if it's only for 2 days.

I put on a pair of ripped denim jeans, a mustard yellow hoodie, and my black Converse. Once again, I was too lazy to do my hair, so I quickly brushed it and left it down.

Somehow when I was eating breakfast, my mind wandered back to my conversation with Leo yesterday.

What is he going to think of me now? I don't need his pity. I also don't want him to treat me like I'm some fragile object that will break at the slightest touch. When the teachers and some students at school found out about what happened, they treated me that way.

It was annoying and made me angry. I didn't want to be treated like that.

I'm hoping that Leo treats me the same.

My mouth touched the edge of my bowl as I tilted it towards my mouth, preparing to drink the milk leftover from my cereal.

"Athena!"

The bowl slipped, and the milk spilled all over my hoodie. "Via! You made me spill my milk all over my clothes. Now I have to go change," I scolded her. She appeared in front of me with a sheepish look on her face and said sorry.

"I didn't mean to scare you. I was just coming to tell you that Leo just told me that he will be gone for the next couple of days. Apparently, his coach signed them up to play at some charity basketball tournament in LA tomorrow."

"He'll be gone until Monday night. He doesn't actually leave until after school gets over, but my dad is letting him stay home to pack since this was sprung on them last minute."

Lucky! I haven't been to LA in forever and I really want to go again. It's been years.

"Go change so we can leave for school." I sprinted up the stairs and threw my hoodie to the ground and dug around in my closet for something else to wear. The only thing I could find was a white hoodie from a couple of years ago.

It was a size too small, but it'll have to do. All my other clothes are dirty.

When we arrived at the school, something felt off. I felt like something was going to happen today. "Hey Via?" I asked.

She turned and looked at me, "yeah?"

"Is there anything going on at the school today?"

She thought about it for a minute before telling me no. Huh, that's strange. Why did I feel like something was going to happen today?

I ignored the gut feeling I had and walked into the school. Teddy waved at me and smiled, but I ignored him. I wasn't in the mood to wave back. I barely got any sleep, and I have a bad feeling about today.

All through out the day, I was waiting for something to happen. Anything. But nothing ever did.

Weird.

Even Via could sense something was off. I told her how I was getting a bad feeling about today and she said she's been feeling like that too ever since she woke up. She didn't tell me at first because she didn't want to believe that anything bad was going to happen.

Before 4th block, I stopped at my locker to get my notebook for my next class.

My fingers spun the lock, putting in my combination, and opening the locker.

I gasped when I saw the inside of my locker door. Everything in my hands dropped to the floor and a couple people near me turned to see what had startled me.

There, on the inside of my locker door, was a picture of Leo and I on the couch taped to the door. We were lying on the couch and his face was incredibly close to mine. There was a note written in red marker at the bottom.

This is your last warning! Break it off with him for good or you will never see him again.

This is why I've had a bad feeling all day. I got another note.

I knew what I had to do now.

I had to stay away from Leo no matter how hard it was going to be. This was a matter of life and death and I'm not willing to gamble with someone's life.

I ripped the paper of my locker and shoved it into my backpack.

I bent down and started to pick up everything I had dropped. One of my pencils somehow managed to roll about 5 feet behind me so I waddled over there to pick it up. I was already crouched down and I was too lazy to stand.

My fingers brushed somebody else's hand as I reached forward to pick it up.

My eyes connected with Teddy's.

"Are you okay?" he asked. I nodded my head, picked up the pencil, and threw everything into my backpack.

"Are you sure? I was talking to someone a few lockers down and saw what happened. Do you know who could've done something like that?" he questioned me. Great, just what I need. The stalker specifically told me not to tell anyone and here Teddy is, close to finding out what is going on.

I'm so screwed if they find out out about this. Quick, think of something!

"It's not what you think. It was just a prank," I rushed out. That's good enough right?

"If you say so. Just know if anything is going on you can tell me," he replied. We said our goodbyes and parted ways.

As he was leaving, I could've sworn I saw Teddy smirking to himself. I was going crazy. There was no way he was smirking, right? I wiped my glasses off on my hoodie and put them back on. It was too late, he had turned a corner and was gone.

This was strange because Teddy almost never smirked. He was always smiling a everybody. Maybe he found something funny about the whole situation.

I brushed off the incident and made my way to class.

"Athena! Why are you late?" My teacher shouted. A quick glance at my phone told me I was 2 minutes late to class.

"I'm sorry. It won't happen again, I swear." Luckily, the teacher dropped it since it was my first time being late to his class.

I took a seat in the back and slouched down, ready to have this day be over with already.

---

The bell rang, waking me up from my peaceful slumber. Someone's hand landed on my shoulder shaking me awake.

"What?" I grumbled.

I saw a blurry figure in front of me, so I slid my glasses back onto my face which had somehow managed to fall off in the time I was asleep. My teacher was looking down at me with an annoyed expression on his face.

"I need to talk to you," he said.

My eyes snapped open all the way and I hurriedly got up and followed him to his desk.

"Today, you were late to my class and you slept through everything too. Is there something going on that I should no about?" he asked.

"NO!" I shouted a little to soon. "I mean, no, there isn't anything going on. I fell asleep during class because I didn't get enough sleep last night because of a nightmare."

"I can't let this go without punishment, it wouldn't be fair to the other students," he responded. "With that being said, I want you to stay and clean the board and the tables. It shouldn't take you too long."

I got to work after he handed me all the supplies and explained everything to me.

It took me half an hour to clean everything. When I finished, I gave the stuff back to the teacher and headed out.

Via was waiting in the car, blasting some pop song. I had sent her a quick text explaining everything before I started to clean.

"There you are," she said when I got in the car. I smiled at her and sped out of the parking lot.

I parked the car in the driveway and got out. Leo was in his driveway talking to his dad. There was a suitcase at his feet and a duffel bag in his hands. I guess he was leaving right now. I watched them hug each other before Leo walked over to his father's car.

He couldn't take his motorcycle since he had a suitcase and duffel bag with him.

For a split second, we made eye contact. I waved goodbye and Leo smiled a little as he got in the car. My eyes were glued to the car until it completely disappeared from sight.

At least Leo wouldn't be here for the next couple days. That way if anything happens, he won't be in harms way.

I lugged my backpack into the house. Before I went upstairs, I took off my shoes and went into the kitchen looking for a snack.

We didn't have much. I grabbed a bag of potato chips, my backpack, and made my way to my room. The homework I had for this weekend was more than usual.

For English, I had to write a thousand word essay by Monday on Romeo and Juliet. I don't know why. I wasn't really paying attention in class so I forgot what this is about. I can just get the notes about it from Via or somebody in my class.

I set the essay aside and decided to work on my anatomy homework. It was one page and it had to do with the nervous system.

I was working my way through the worksheet when suddenly I got the urge to pee. I made my way to the bathroom and did my business. As I was washing my hands, my eyes wandered the bathroom.

Something near the toilet caught my eye.

The outlet near the toilet was a standard three-prong outlet with 2 screws holding it in. This outlet, however, the top screw was bigger than the rest.

I dried my hands and went over to inspect it. I looked carefully and that's when I noticed it. There was a tiny, flashing red dot, a little bigger than a grain of sand.

I pulled the screw out of the outlet and instead of finding a screw I found a mini camera no bigger than my pinkie nail. So this was where they hid the camera. How did I not find it before? There's literally a flashing red dot.

You think that would've caught my eye but no, it didn't. I took the camera and ran in under the faucet to short-circuit it, then threw it in the trash can and covered it with some toilet paper. I had to make sure it wasn't working at all.

Thank god I finally found the camera. Now I have one less thing to worry about.

---

When Monday rolled around, I was feeling a little better. The bad feeling I had disappeared by Saturday night and I was feeling good.

I wasn't completely dreading going to school either, which was a first.

I quickly got dressed, ate breakfast, then sped towards the school. Via got out of the car first and walked ahead of me into the school. I was taking my time because we still had 15 minutes until school started. I don't know why she's in a hurry.

Teddy came up to me as I got my stuff out of the back seat.

"So I heard that Leo and the basketball team are in LA for a charity tournament. Do you know when they will be back?" he asked.

"They'll be back tonight. Why do you ask?" I replied.

"No reason. I just had a question I need to ask Leo."

He said he had somewhere to be and ran away, literally. The more I talk with him the more I realize how weird he truly is. I didn't notice it when I had a crush on him, but I'm glad I don't like him anymore. He's kind of creepy.

As I was walking to my locker, I saw Miles walking down the hall. Wait what? He was on the basketball team so why was he here?

I raced towards him and tapped him on the shoulder.

"Hey Miles, what are you doing at school shouldn't you be in LA with the rest of the team?" I asked. Maybe he was injured or had another thing he had to attend to. His eyes scrunched together. Miles looked confused by what I said.

"LA? Why would the team be in LA?" he asked.

"Didn't you guys play in a charity tournament there on Saturday?" I was getting nervous now.

"No. We weren't invited to that," he replied.

"Thanks," I said and rushed back to my locker. If Leo wasn't in LA, where was he? This isn't making any sense.

I pulled out my phone and dialed his number. Straight to voicemail.

I called again. The same thing happened.

This is getting weird. Leo always answers his phone. He never turns it off in case off emergency.

I kept calling his phone as I walked around the school trying to find Via.

It went to voicemail every time.

Via was sitting on the bench, scrolling through something on her phone.

"Via!" I exclaimed. She looked up at me in surprise. "I think Leo is in trouble. I just saw Miles and he said they weren't in LA and that they weren't invited to that charity tournament thing. I've been calling him for the past ten minutes but it's going straight to voicemail. I think something has happened."

She shot up out of her seat and walked over to me.

"Are you sure his phone just didn't die or something?" she asked.

"Yes, I'm sure. He never let's his phone die. How are we going to find him? He could be anywhere." I started hyperventilating. My shoulders were shaking and tears were forming in my eyes.

How is Via so calm right now? Her brother is missing.

"Athena, calm down. We don't know that he's missing." Oops, I must've said that out loud. "When was the last time you saw him?" she asked. I answered 'Friday' without hesitation.

"Okay, and who else knows about the supposed 'LA charity tournament' thing?"

I though about it.

"Well us, our parents, Miles because I just told him and..."

My voice slowly trailed off.

It couldn't be him, could it?

"What? Who else knows?" Via was starting to look worried.

"Teddy."

-----

What happened to Leo? Is he really missing? Does Teddy have anything to do with it?

I'm getting excited. Things re finally getting interesting. I've been waiting to write this chapter for weeks. I wrote this chapter in an hour and a half so excuse any mistakes there may be. I hope you guys enjoyed this chapter.
