"Looking hot, girl." Casey commented as she watch Max applying a red lipstick by the vanity area.

"I'm not overdoing it, am I?" Max looked at Casey through the mirror.

"No. Not really. Could have added a few touches by the cheeks and some eyeshadows but then, it's you."

Max exhaled and stood up. She got her shoes on-strappy black sandals to match with her red skirt (her brothers got for her at a thrift shop) and a simple black halter top. She sat on the bed and bend down to tie on the straps.

Casey watch her do this and saw the tattoo on Max's lower back. It was a bird tattoo- 3 flying birds facing the right and all were tattooed in black ink.

"Didn't know you have a tattoo."

The comment made Max sprang up and hide it with both of her hands. She immediately look at Casey and laugh, nervously. "I-I got this way before."

"Oh, I think it's cool. I wish I could have a tattoo."

"Oh? Why not?"

"Daddy won't allow it. Says it's dirty and inappropriate."

"Why is art dirty and inappropriate?" Max smiled. "I need to go."

"Bye." Casey waved at Max and thought about what she just said.

The breeze was strong that night as the waves crash upon the shore. There were torches that lights up the evening and reggae music to jazz up the mood. They were welcomed with a lady with an Hawaiian costume and place a flower lei on to their necks. Ian lead Max towards a table made of bamboos and ordered a dinner course for the two of them.

They talk and laugh with each other as they waited for their course.

Max watch him took a hibiscus from the center table and inserted it on Max ears and smiled at her.

"Looks great on you." Ian said. Max also took a yellow hibiscus and inserted one to Ian also, making him laugh. Enjoying the dinner and enjoying Ian, Max thought about what Jesse said to just enjoy everything. As long as she keeps making things casual between them- it wouldn't be a problem.

After the dinner, they went by the bar where they were near the dance floor and a reggae band. There were people dancing already-friends, family, couples. Everyone was enjoying theirselves and Max couldn't help but smile at them too.

"I'm glad you're enjoying this." Ian said, after he took a sip from his Long Island.

"I should be saying that. I brought you to this date." Max smiled at him.

"True. But, let's just say that to have some points for me, too."

Max looked at him, didn't remove the smile from her face. She find everything amusing. "Are you always like this?"

"Like what? Charming? Alluring?"

"You just took the words right out of my mouth."

Ian chuckled. "So, you think I'm charming?"

"Let's add flirtatious to that list, as well."

This time Ian laughed. Max chuckled, too. He looks very attractive when he laughs like that. Such a genuine laugh.

When Max heard her favorite song: "Every breath you take by UB40 "(the reggae version), she smiled and got excited.

"Oh my god. I love this song."

"Just how many songs do you love?"

"Quite a number. Dance with me." She grabbed Ian by the hand and led him to the dance floor.

"I can't-"

"Oh. You can!"

It wasn't some sexy dance move nor something that is "trying hard to be seductive." She just swayed her hips along with the rhythm, did a simple cha-cha-cha with Ian and some twirls. Max noticed Ian could dance too- and was impressed.

And charmed.

"So, you know how to dance." Max commented when they went off the dance floor and into the beach. She removed her sandals off and let her feet feel the sand. She gripped the jacket that Ian ordered the crew to give to her, tighter. The cameras were following them but she didn't mind them-since Ian didn't seem to mind them as well.

"As long as its not some krumping or some hip hop moves, I can be save."

"I appreciate that honesty."

"Well, you are good at dancing."

"It depends on the beat." She was about to share some memories back in high school on how she rave all the time but she doesn't want to give too much information about herself. She was trying to behave this time or rather for years now.

"I don't think I've been mesmerized by such dancing in a long time." Ian said, smiling.

"So, there was someone then?"

His smile began to slowly dropped. He looked away and cleared his throat. "Well, yeah. There was."

Max knew who it was. But, she didn't want to ask anymore. "What happened then?"

"It didn't work out." Ian answered, there was a slight sadness Max noticed from his voice.

"Did you try?"

"I did."

"And then what?"

Ian went silent for a moment and then gave en exhale before answering. "There are things that you should just let go to make them happy. I mean, you could wait and hope that it will come back. But eventually, one day, you open your eyes on the truth that there are things that doesn't come back anymore."

Max could only look at Ian. She perfectly knows how it feels. She gave a tight smile and held Ian's hand. Ian looked at their hands and then to Max.

"All we have to do is move on." Max said. Ian looked to Max's emerald eyes and intertwined his hands firmly on those little female hands and smiled.

"That's right. Move on."
