It's December 25th. A new year has almost gone by. Only a few more days and It'll be another year that I was brought here. The SPK put up a Christmas tree in the Japanese SPK building. I decorated it with Near yesterday. I knew soon that things would end. It's getting closer. Treu Mikami is in play now and Takada as well. Light was using them both. Near knew about the shinigami that Kira possesses. It's going by so quickly. 

   " The shinigami will be loyal to Mikami and will warn him if he discovers we're following him. "

   " But the shinigami can only be seen by those people who have touched the notebook. It's going to be pretty difficult to be careful of something we can't even see. "

   " We're gonna try, no matter how difficult. "

Near was playing with his legos as he was talking about Mikami. Gevanni was tracking Mikami. They just learned that the shinigami isn't following Mikami. They're moving quickly. Misa would be taking with Mogi in few days. I was excited to see them after so long but I don't know how I should react. 

A few Days Later

   " Near. " I looked up at the screen to see the L Lawliet used to use. 

   " Yes, L? "

   " Mogi and Misa Amane have gone missing. "

   " I'm already aware of that. I was the one who took them into custody. "

   " For what reason? "

   " Oh, just in case. "

I looked at Near to see a smile on his face as he grabbed a marble and put it in his contraption. He handed one to me and I put it through one of the tubes and it short around the contraption before landing in a disk. 

   " Near...kidnapping is a blatant criminal act. You have to stop this now. "

   " Actually, Mr. Mogi and Amane both came here willingly. You can even ask them yourself. I'll put them on the line now. Here they are. "

He clicked a few buttons on his laptop and camera footage came up on one of the screens in the room. There was one screen that showed us what they see when we were contacted. The screen showed Misa and Mogi sitting in a room on a couch. 

   " Mogi, Misa, this is L speaking. I'm told Near is detaining you. He said that you both agreed to it. Is that true? "

   " It is. " Mogi said tilting his head downward. 

I felt sad seeing Mogi disappointed. 

   ' Mogi...'

The call ended after Misa defended her case of being there. I stood up from my spot on the couch and walked out the door. I walked down the hall and towards where he was keeping them. 

   ' Now that I think about it something changed. Aizawa is playing his part correctly but he never came to visit Near. He only called over the phone and never actually saw Near and the SPK in person. I need to go and see the Task Force. I need to talk with Light and Aizawa. It's overtime for Aizawa to come to the SPK and he isn't coming and they battle between Kira and N will end soon. I need to go to the Task Force. '

I opened the door to the room and walked inside. I saw Misa and Mogi playing a card game. Misa looked up at the door and smiled at seeing me.

   " Y/n! "

She stood up, dropping her cards, and ran towards me. She hugged me and I hugged her back. A small smile coming to my face.

   " Y/n, where have you been!? The whole Task Force thought you were dead! After what happened with Mello and the mafia we thought you died in the explosion. "

   " I'm very much alive. I was Mello a while and then I was taken by the SPK. I've been with them ever since. My burns have healed up to so I'm fine. "

   " I'm glad you're okay. "

Mogi stood from the couch and hugged me. I hugged him back tightly.

   " It's good to see you Mogi. You have no idea how good it is to see a very familiar face. "

   " The same goes for you, Y/n. How are you? "

   " I'm doing good right now. But I want to warn you both of the future. "

   " The future? " Misa asked tilting her head. 

   " I thought you couldn't tell us the future. "

   " I can't but I'm making an exception. Only because Misa, here won't be able to witness it. Mogi you will but I don't care to tell the both of you and then I want to talk to Mogi alone. "

They both nodded and I lowered my voice to a whisper and covered my mouth so the cameras couldn't pick up the way my lips moved. One of the SPK was good at lip reading and he was currently watching the cameras.

   " This will be over soon. "

   " Our containment? " Misa asked.

   " No, the original battle of Kira vs. L will be over soon. "

   " How soon? " Mogi asked 

   " A few days. I can't say exactly how many but soon. "

They both nodded in understanding.

   " I just wanted to tell you guys that you both mean a lot to me. I don't know what will happen when the story is over but I just wanted to tell you guys before it ends that I appreciate you both. Misa you kept me busy and were my gal pal to do stuff. Mogi you were very caring towards me. Thank you both for everything. "

I uncupped my mouth and was enveloped in a hug. I hugged them both, tightly. When we separated I grabbed Mogi and walked towards the couch. I covered my mouth once more and spoke to him.

   " Aizawa is on the right track. "

   " You mean..."

I slowly shook my head. He nodded in understanding and I left him to leave the room.

   " I just wanted to visit you guys. After this, I will be with the Task Force from now on. I just wanted to see how you both were doing before I left. "

They nodded and hugged me once more. I left the room and went to the main room of the SPK. Everyone looked at me.

   " I'm afraid I must take my leave. I need to go to the Task Force. I will stay with them for the rest of the time. "

   " I understand. It was a pleasure having you here. " Near said, standing up.

He walked over to me and his white hair shielded his eyes. I couldn't see them at all. When he was standing right in front of me he turned his head to the SPK members.

   " Turn your heads for a moment. I am about to do and say something that stays between Y/n and I. "

I watched as they all turned their heads away from us. When Near was certain they weren't looking he turned back to me. He wrapped his arms around me and brought his body closer to me. I recognized what he was doing as a hug. I smiled and hugged him back. I rubbed his head and ran my hands through his soft white hair. 

   " Thank you. "

   " For what? "

   " Being my friend and playing with me. "

   " Anytime, Near. "

We separated and he looked at me without the white hair shielding his face. He smiled a genuine smile. I smiled back and told him goodbye once more before turning around and leaving the SPK building.
