" People are surrounding the building! They are breaking all the windows. At this rate, we'll be dragged outside unless we stop them somehow. "

The monitors disappeared from the video from outside to an L.

   " What's going on, Near? Could it be that this is some sort of plot by Mello to finish off the SPK? No. Surely it couldn't be that the SPK's security was so lax that even a normal citizen could find out where it was located? "

Near was holding a small robot in his hand and the head seemed to be ripped off. The small robot head rolled away from Near. I picked up the head and took the toy from Near and reattached the head. I handed the toy back to Near and he thanked me. There was a riot going on outside the building and Demegawa was leading them from a helicopter. The people outside were trying to break the floors on the ground floor while they were holding Kira flags. They screamed at the top of their lungs and it shook me up a bit. 

   ' I've said it before, it's heart racing to see the situation but when you are put in the middle of it it's just instinct and adrenaline. ' 

   " Near, you've got no choice. You better evacuate. "

   " You've got some nerve to say that, being Kira. "

   " What? Are you still going on about that nonsense? "

   " Think about it. With all the anti-Kira groups around, why is it we're being targeted, and right after I start suspecting you? Pretty convenient, if you ask me. "

   " Near, with all due respect, you're wrong. You're jumping to conclusions. "

   " Members of the task force, please listen to me. Kira is likely amongst you. Even as we speak, he is in that room. I'm simply asking you to think about this carefully. "

I looked at one of the monitors and saw them start lighting things on fire. They continued to beat the windows and try to set the building on fire. 

   " Really, what pathetic people. " Near said.

   " I'm not surprised that there are ordinary people who support what Kira's trying to do. " I said

   " I'm talking about the honest citizens, who believe in their hearts that by punishing evildoers, Kira will actually make this world a better place to live. "

  " But the crowd outside is a completely different breed. " I said to Near.

   " That's right. They are truly despicable and stupid. This is just a diversion for them. They're all selfish. "

   " But that still leaves us with the immediate problem. " An SPK member said jumping in.

   " We'll use L's legacy and the anti-Kira protestors we hired. "

   " But we only have one shot with that plan. "

   " I'm aware of that but I can't imagine a better time to do it. Besides this should be interesting. "

Near picked up all of his toys and the plan was starting to get acted upon. Money started to downpour outside of the building. It caused mayhem. Everyone was trying to reach and grab for it even Demegawa. Everyone started getting their suits on ready to leave the building. I put my helmet on along with Near.

   " Let's go. We can leave via the front exit. "

We were about to leave when I noticed Near didn't take his toys. I picked some of them up and handed them to him. 

   " Take them with you. "

   " Because I did in the original story? "

   " That and because they're your toys. You won't find the same ones again. "

He nodded and took the toys from me. We joined the police as they came out of the building from the ground floor. Near and I stayed together as we ran. I wanted to stay as close as I could with Near and I knew Near wanted to stay with me, since he took my hand and held it as he held his toys in his other arm. We ran like they did to get out of the building. We made it out of the building along with everyone else. We headed to a new location that was safe and far from the SPK building. I took all day to get far enough away from the building and people. After stripping ourselves from the armor Near contacted the Task Force. 

   " To all of you on the task force I'm sure that by now, some of you are starting to suspect that Kira may be one of you. Giving the timing of today's attack on our headquarters, I don't think anyone could blame you for having doubts. If you don't suspect the second L of being Kira by now, you're in the wrong line of work. The number I gave you the day before has been reconnected. Please feel free to call anytime you like. Well then, I'll be waiting for your call. "

Near ended the call with the task force and turned towards his toys. He started playing with them and I felt a smile appear on my face, feeling glad I grabbed them and told him to take them. I got on my knees and started playing with him and we built dice towers that almost reached the ceiling. 

   " Do you think we could get this piece to the top without it falling? " I asked

   " It's possible. "

   " Here, you try. "

I handed Near a dice piece and he stood up and reached the top of the tower. He placed it on top but the whole tower fell down. Dice pieces were everywhere and the towers collapsed to the floor until there were no more towers.

   " That's a shame. "

   " Not really. " I said starting the towers over again.

   " Why not? "

   " Because we can start again and make some changes to help stabilize the tower better. We get a chance to rebuild it and make it better. "

I looked at Near and saw a small smile on his face. He picked up some dice and started rebuilding the tower with me.

   " You're right, Y/n. "

I continued to smile as we started rebuilding the tower.
