Chapter 15

- Ace King -

I stood outside Mia's door, nervously tapping my fingers on the bouquet of flowers that I bought for her. I hope she likes them. They're typical, clichΓ© roses, but they're white. Mia loves white roses. I don't know why, but she just does.

I check everything, even double checked to make sure that nothing went wrong. I want this to be perfect, but I feel like I'm just gonna fuck everything up.

I haven't even seen her all day today. Levi and Ben had to hold me back from going to school so I could prepare everything for our date.

Levi and Ben stayed because they knew I needed help after I told them I asked Mia out.

Ben had face-palmed himself while Levi raised a brow at me.

"You're saying that you asked her out, but have no clue where you're going to take her?"

"Pretty much," I chuckled awkwardly.

Levi groaned, and told me that they would help me out. I just owe them something. But damn, I hate owing people, so they better tell me what they want.

When the door opened, I couldn't help but stare at Mia. She's beautiful. She could be wearing a garbage bag, and still look better than other girls. I'm glad that I could call her mine. I can't imagine if another guy was in my place.

I grinned at her, and showed her the flowers.

"You didn't have to," she blushed, taking them from my hands.

"But I wanted to."

Mia went back inside to put them in a vase, and when she came out, she locked the door before grabbing my hand. I smiled and led her to my car.

"Now can you tell me where we're going?" she eagerly asked When I shook my head, she pouted. "Please?"

I gritted my teeth, trying my best not to get affected by her. But no matter how hard I try, I could never resist. Luckily, after Mia tried to make me confess where we were going, she gave up when she realized that I wasn't going to speak.

Mia's face lit up, and she looked at me with the cutest expression ever. "Oh my God! I haven't been here for such a long time!"

Back in middle school, Mia and I used to go to the escape room so much that we know how to beat every room. But when Mia entered high school, we couldn't go out because she was busy with work.

We didn't want to go in the summer because it would be really boring since we already knew how to solve each room. But luckily for me, they created a new room. When we got out of the car, she literally jumped out and ran to the door. I chuckled, as she waited for me.

"Thanks for taking me here," she said.

"You never have to thank me, angel," I replied, kissing her on her forehead. "But don't get too excited. This is only the first part of our date."

x-X-x

"I hate you," Mia said, slapping my arm as we made it out of the building.

We didn't manage to escape because I had grabbed the wrong key and gave it to Mia to open the door. There were only ten seconds left, and we just realized it was wrong when there were only four seconds remaining.

"Hey! It's not my fault! There were so many keys on the ground that I didn't see I picked the wrong one!" I argued.

Mia rolled her eyes, and got into the car after I opened her door. She was still upset by the loss, but a few sweet words, and a kiss on the cheek got her to forgive me.

Now, I was taking Mia to the second part of our date. Hopefully, she'll like it. Ben and Levi are probably waiting for me since the sun was nearly setting.

"Where are you taking us now?"

"You should know by now that I'm not going to tell you," I replied, chuckling when she huffed in annoyance.

It was a long drive there, and Mia eventually managed to fall asleep. I couldn't stop shifting my eyes from the road to her. She's just too cute not to look at. I frowned when Mia's phone kept ringing, so when there was a red light, I took her phone from the pocket of her cardigan to see who was calling her.

I glared at the phone when I saw three missed calls and five texts from Jacob. Why the fuck are they still talking?

Whatever. I'll just murder him tomorrow.

When I finally reached my destination, I saw Ben jogging his way towards my car. I gently shook Mia as started to slowly wake up. I chuckled when she muttered another five minutes, so I got out of the car and opened her door.

I carried her bridal-style, and walked towards Ben.

"Everything is ready. Levi's coming soon. He's just trying to catch a date," Ben said, pointing at Levi who was talking to a redhead girl.

I thanked Ben and walked over to the dock.

"Mia, wake up," I whispered, kissing her on the forehead. Her beautiful eyes started to flutter open. I placed her on her own two feet, and she gasped when she saw what part two of our date was.

"I kind of forgot you're a billionaire," she said, and I chuckled.

I bought a white yacht that was just under $700,000 dollars, and it could really fit twelve guests. But for today, and the rest of tomorrow, it was just going to be Mia and I.

It has six cabins, including a master and VIP suite, and the master bedroom has its own private sundeck.

The upper deck comes with a plunge pool, and plenty of room for sunbathing. Altogether, the yacht features two Jacuzzi pools, a room with a massage bed, a heated towel cabinet, and steam room.

Mia grabbed my hand, eager to go inside. Just like I imagined, Mia couldn't stop looking at everything. She was a person who was easily amused. Some people find it annoying, but I find it funny.

I gave her a tour of each floor, and each room. Her face lit up when she saw the master bedroom. It was a perfect combination of light gray, brown, and white.

"You know, you didn't have to do all this," she said, sitting down on the bed. "I mean, you could've taken me to a park and have a picnic and I'd be fine with that."

I sat beside her, a pulled her close to my side. "Yeah, but you deserve only the best."

She blushed, and slapped my chest, muttered a few words I couldn't understand.

Because it was late, we decided to watch a movie. She was more than thrilled that I bought all her favourite movies with us. She decided to watch The Duff after a few minutes of deciding what to pick.

I literally couldn't stop smiling when she let me place her on my lap. My arms wrapped around her waist as I pulled her as humanly possible to me. I wasn't even focused on the movie. All I could do was look at Mia.

The way she grinned when something sweet happened, when she laughed at something funny, or when she frowned when Madison posted the embarrassing video of Bianca.

I knew she could feel my eyes trained on her because her cheeks were coated in a deep red.

Mia was biting her lip nervously as she looked at me with a bit of hesitation. I knew what she was thinking. I used my thumb to removed her lip that was between her teeth, and slowly started to lean in. This time, there was no one to interrupt us.

The only people here were Mia and I.

A small smile made its way across Mia's face, and soon enough, I captured her lips with mine. The movies being completely ignored.

I don't know how, or when it happened, but now I was hovering over her on the bed, kissing her passionately, and wanting to savour every moment I have with her. When I pulled away, I grinned. Her hair was messed up, her cheeks were a deep red, and her lips were a bit swollen.

I nuzzled my head in the crook of her neck, placing soft kisses. She giggled, and tried to push me off of her, but to no avail.

"Ace, stop," she laughed as I tickled her sides. I stopped, and fell on the bed beside her. I pulled her close to me, and rested my forehead on hers. My eyes closed, and I smiled when I felt her tap my nose.

"Ace," she whispered.

"I love it when you say my name."

"Why?"

"Because I just do."

There was a moment of silence because she tapped my cheek this time. "Ace. I'm cold.'I want a blanket."

I sighed, and tightened my arms around her. "I'll keep your warm," I replied, but that only made her laugh.

After a bit of arguing, I let her go, and she pulled the blanket over us.

"You know, I think this is the first time we shared a bed."

"Mmhmm." Was I going to tell her I've shared a bed with her before? Never.

"You don't mind, do you?"

"Nope. Not at all."

Mia didn't reply after that, so I assumed she was already fast asleep. I opened my eyes, and I was right. She looked so peaceful. I kissed her forehead before I too started to drift to sleep.
