Fake. There are so many things that could be considered as fake in this world. There have been several instances wherein a person had to feign something. But there is a fine line between it being tolerable and being plain ass irritating. Like, faking a smile is okay. Pretending you're okay is okay. But acting all innocent and kind in front of the camera yet behind closed doors, you're as devious as Cruella De Vil? Nope. Definitely not okay.

Now some girls may think that working for a worldwide famous celebrity is actually amazing but not when your boss has that attitude. He smiled kindly at his fans, act all caring yet every time it is just the two of you, he becomes a huge diva. Is that really how you treat your personal assistant? At least that's what the other members of his management say.

"You're needed in his office." His secretary said, handing me his schedule for the month.

"He's in a bad mood, isn't he?" I muttered, adjusting the papers so that I wouldn't lose my hold on the paper cup.

"Since when was he not? Better get in there."

I internally sighed and walked over to the all too familiar set of frosted glass walls. I pushed the door open with my shoulder and headed in. I made my way to his desk, placing the cup of coffee next to his computer as he buried his head in his hands, something he does when he's stressed.

"Good morning, Mr. Mendes." I greeted, fixing the fallen items from his desk.

"Good, you're here." He groaned, looking up from him hands.

He looked restless. He had bags under his eyes, brown hair sticking out in different directions, and not to mention the fact that his eyes are drooping slightly. The first three buttons of his shirt was undone and the sleeves were messily folded up to his elbow. Not gonna lie, he looks hot but he can get a bit frightening when he's not in a good mood.

"What's wrong this time?" I asked, picking up a fallen picture frame from the floor and placing it neatly on his desk.

"Why are the people in this world so stupid?! There's a complete difference between an arena show to a mall show! Mall shows don't earn as much!" He growled, throwing his hands up in the air frustratedly.

"Maybe I should make sure that no one goes near you when you haven't had your coffee. Drink up."

"This is why I really need to have you around me at all times."

He slowly brought the paper cup to his lips and took a sip from the dark brown liquid I picked up from Starbucks on the way to the office. As typical as buying coffee from Starbucks sounds, it was the nearest coffee shop I could find on my route here. I sat myself down on the gray couch by the door and encoded his schedule into my tablet.

"I should really have someone change your salary and your schedule. Will pay you double to have you by my side at all times." He said, setting the paper cup down on his desk and walking over to me slowly.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Mendes but, as hard as it is to imagine, I actually have a life outside of work as well."

He sat down beside me and wrapped his arm around my shoulders. He leaned down and placed his mouth next to my ear, his soft pink lips brushing against it. I tried so hard to seem calm and ignore the feeling it gave me even though my heart felt like it was beating out of my chest. "What if I do not give you the option to refuse?"

As I opened my mouth to reply, his secretary knocked on the door and came in. He moved away from me as fast as he could and just stared at the wall across from us as I continued fixing his schedule.

"Sir, you have a meeting today at five. Just thought you should know as it was not written down in your schedule considering that it was stated last minute." She stated blankly.

"Please tell them I cannot make it for today as I have personal plans." He said, mimicking her tone. "Now if you would excuse me, kindly leave my office."

She left wordlessly and closed the door harshly behind her. I kept my eyes on my screen, typing down the dates for his tour and his other gigs. I felt the foam on the couch shift as long, slender fingers intertwined themselves with my hand that was resting on the cushions as I rechecked the schedule. I looked up found him moving even closer to me. He rested his head on my shoulder, burying his nose onto my neck.

"Go out with me tonight." He muttered against my skin, making me close my eyes to ignore the butterflies in my stomach.

"Are you using me as your excuse to not go to the meeting?" I asked, saving the document and closing it.

"Yes and no."

"Shawn, I'm sorry but-"

"It wasn't a question."

"Fine." I sighed, turning the tablet off and placing it to the side.

"Good."

The day went on slowly and I could help but feel slightly awkward at the fact that my boss literally asked me to go out with him. I continued to deal with some of the things he needed me to do nonetheless . It was my job, after all. I just hope I can stop myself from falling tonight since almost everything he does is making me have a certain feelings for him.

Once the clock struck five, Shawn took my hand in his and led me out of his office to the parking lot. We both got into his car and drove off to wherever the hell he was planning on going to. The drive was silent yet as much as I wanted to break it, I didn't know how to. He pulled over at a small cafe near the beach and went out of the car. He opened my door and stuck his hand out. I gladly took it and went out.

"I used to go here to write songs before I was discovered through Vine." He stated, placing his arm around my waist.

"I don't need to ask why. I mean, just looking at this place, one can really draw inspiration to create." I muttered, taking in the beauty of the place as the fairy lights suddenly turned on. "It's amazing."

We took a seat at a table beside a large pane of glass giving off a breath-taking view of the ocean.  A man about my age came over to take our orders and once we had stated what we wanted, he left.

"I never really brought anyone here before." Shawn said, breaking the short silence between the two of us. "I always thought of this place as special. It was the place wherein I could just be by myself and focus on the things I love. That solitude was soon replaced by fame and I never really had time to myself. And when I do, I would usually tend to breakdown from exhaustion."

"Then why me?" I asked, looking over at him so that his brown eyes met mine.

"Huh?"

"This place seems to be really special to you. If you have never brought anyone else here before, why bring me?"

He just took my hand in his and placed it near his lips. "Because you're the only thing that calms me down nowadays. You're the only one I want to be around with. You make my days brighter without you realizing it... I like me better when I'm with you."

And with those words, I fell completely in love with him since in reality, I like myself better when I'm with him as well.

A/N: Shitty but I haven't updated in months so might as well post something. It seemed better in my head but once I started writing it... it went downhill. Also finished it even though I'm really tired from last night since I went to the IV of Spades concert here in Bacolod!

For those who don't know them, they're a Filipino band that I have become obsessed with. The members are composed of Zild Benitez (bass, vocalist), Badjao De Castro (drums), and Blaster Silonga (guitarist, backing vocals).  And guys, let me just tell you, Zild is such a fucking sweetheart, Blaster's an adorable little puppy, and Badjao is a SAVAGE! I made them sign a notebook wherein I would write down whatever I consider as my purpose and read it whenever I feel useless.  When I told Zild and Blaster this, Zild took time to write down "Keep on living. You are wonderful!" (I almost cried because of it). Then Blaster wrote "Don't feel useless" then giggled as he looked up to give it to me. 😍😍 Badjao, however, crossed out Unique Salonga (former vocalist) out of another fan's poster  😂

Here are some photos from last night:
