"Y/n!" He exclaimed, chasing after me as I ran away from him, his song book in my hand.

I just laughed and ran past several trees, going deeper into the dark, freezing woods. The white fur jacket I wore was not enough to keep me warm since the cold still made me shiver but it was good enough to keep me from completely freezing my ass off.

We were just hanging out in my room, him jotting down ideas for a new song he was working on when I decided to have a little fun. Although the silence between us was comfortable, I still got bored so what's better than entertaining yourself by irritating your boyfriend, right? I was too deep in thought that I lost my footing and slid through the snow. I closed my eyes and prepared myself for the impact of the cold yet it never happened.

"I think you underestimated your own clumsiness." Shawn chuckled as I opened my eyes.

He had his warm, toned arms wrapped around my waist from behind to stop me from falling into the cold depths of powdery white snow. He held me closer to him as I tried to stand up. When I eventually did, I turned around, holding the leather covered notebook behind my back, slowly moving away from him so he couldn't get it.

"Y/n, give the notebook to me, please. I need to get it done before I completely forget about it." He whined, sticking his lower lip out into a cute little pout.

"Only if you give me a kiss." I said cheekily, sticking my tongue out like a child.

He gasped and placed his hand on his chest, faking an over-exaggerated shocked expression. "A kiss?! Oh, dear y/n, spare my poor notebook for I do not know what a kiss is!"

"Oh shut up you big ass drama queen."

"Fine. Come here."

He stuck his arms out for me and I gladly walked into them, letting myself be engulfed by them. He placed his hand under my chin and tilted my head up towards him. He slowly moved his face closer to mine until his soft, plump lips met mine. I wrapped my arms around his neck– notebook still in hand– and pulled him closer, letting myself get lost in the feeling of butterflies and fireworks erupting inside me.

"Here." I said, handing him the song book after we pulled away.

He took out from my hands before pulling me in once more. I giggled against his lips yet gladly returned the favor. Once we pulled away again, he rested gid forehead against mine, his breath fanning against my lips.

"I swear, one day you'll become famous for your music. I just know it." I said, twirling a lock of his brown hair around my finger. "I just hope you won't forget about me when you reach the top."

"I can never forget you. You're my everything."

"Promise?"

"Promise."

But promises are meant to be broken. A year or so after, he eventually blew up on Vine, making covers of several well known artists. Since then, he has been touring around the country and more together with other internet famous guys. Meanwhile, as he travelled, I was stuck in school, struggling to survive the rest of high school. I haven't seen him in more than a couple of years. We used to try and contact each other from texts, calls, FaceTime, Skype, and even through direct messages but we eventually lost touch.

"Y/n, did you hear?" Y/bff/n asked. "Shawn's having a concert in town. Are you going?"

"I don't know. We haven't seen or even talked to each other in a long time and to me, that's basically the end of our relationship." I muttered, looking down at the off white tiles with a few dirty footprints here and there, trying not to remember our memories together.

"But you still love him, right?"

"Of course I do."

"Then let's go. Maybe when you both see each other again, things would patch themselves up."

"I guess it wouldn't hurt to try. At least, not that much."

Hours turned to days and before I knew it, it was the day of his concert. We stood in the line which reached the other end of the block just to meet him after the show. Honestly, seeing him so happy and do what he loves made my heart explode with love knowing that he finally made it. My heart dropped as the person in front of me went in to the small room where the meet and greet was being held. Y/bff/n grabbed my hand from behind to calm me down, saying words like "You can do this." to reassure me.

"Next!" The guard said, making me step up and go in.

I reluctantly walked to the middle of the room where he stood. One of the guides placed their hand on my back and gently pushed me to him. I couldn't breathe. My heart was beating so loudly that I could hear it pounding. Once he saw me, he offered me a small smile and stuck his hand out for me. After they took the picture, he turned to me and smiled once again.

"Thank you so much for your unending support! It was nice to meet you... Uhm... I'm sorry I must have forgotten to ask you what your name is." He said, trailing off.

"You don't remember me, do you?" I asked, looking down at my hands as tears started to form in my eyes.

"I'm sorry? Do I know you?"

"It's y/n."

"It was nice meeting you, y/n but how do we know each other?'

"I... We knew each other before you even became famous. I was the girl you grew up with and used to love. I mean, I knew you wouldn't keep your promise in the first place. I was stupid to think you would. We shouldn't have made it anyway. I mean, we were, I don't know, fifteen? Back to the time when I was still your everything? Anyways, it was nice seeing you again, Shawn."

I ran out of the venue and got into my car. Y/bff/n got here separately so technically, I wouldn't be ditching her. The tears freely fell from my cheeks as I sat at the driver's seat, my head leaning against the steering wheel as a sob escaped my lips. I yelled, screamed, and punched the wheel, anything just to get the pain and anger out. Once I thought I calmed down, I drove out of the venue.

I was still sobbing, my vision clouded with tears yet I knew I had to get out of there before I completely break down. I tried to pull myself together, I really did but every time I reach a red light, I just end up bursting into tears. I was so close to my home when I heard a loud honking noise and then all I saw was complete nothingness.
