Angel and I sat in silence in the back of the police cruiser; fingers intertwined. We listened to the idle chit chat of Officers Stewart and Cooper, along with the static over the radio. Once we pulled into our parking spot, both officers walked us to our door.

Standing there, Angel and I realized that neither of us had our keys or belongings, since everything was left at the club just the night before. Had it only been just 24 hours since this all began?

Turning to Officer Cooper, Angel spoke first. “It seems like we don’t have our keys officer.” She sounded so sweet and innocent. I couldn’t help but smile.

“Is your purse at the club like mine?” I asked Angel.

“Yes. It is. Everything is in my locker; I don’t even have my locker key. Dammit, I’m sure you don’t as well.”

“No, Damon took my bag and I have no clue where it is.” I replied.

Angel turned to both officers, turning on her charm. “Can you nice officers take us to Club Cherry Picker, so we can gather are things. It’s not too far from here.” Angel asked sweetly.

Stewart was the first to answer; surprise in his voice. “I thought you both looked familiar,” With a stupid grin on his face.

“Clint, mind your manners.” Officer Cooper reprimanded his partner. “Yes ma’am, we can take you to the club.”

“We happen to know exactly where it is.” Officer Steward interjected.

“Thank you,” I replied looking at his eyes light up.

Officer Cooper smiled, while tipping his hat. “No worries ma’am.”

There was something sweet about Officer Cooper, but when I looked into Officer Stewart’s eyes, I could tell that he was one of my fans. He had the glazed over look.

Sitting in the back of the patrol car once again, we sped off towards the club.

“So do you guys have a lock cutter in the trunk?” Angel asked.

“Sure do ma’am.” Officer Cooper answered.

“Great, because that is the only way we’re going to get our stuff out of our lockers.” Angel retorted.

“Angel, we might as well just grab all our stuff?” I said.

“Why?” She questioned me.

“Hum, well I didn’t get to tell you this, but long story short, I kinda told Victor off.”

“Violet, you know I owe him all that money?” She whispered.

“Angel, I’ve paid off the debt. You’re free to go.” I smiled at her.

“Really?”

“Yes really. We’re done there.”

Officer Stewart broke into our conversation. “You can’t be leaving the club ladies. To tell you the truth, you’re the only reason why I go in there.”

“Oh, well I’m sorry officer but our time there is up.” I replied.

“Sorry to hear that ma’am. You two girls made the water downed drinks worth wild.” He laughed.

We sat in silence a few minutes then I had an idea.

“Would you two officers like to help us out one final time before you drop us off back at home?” I asked.

“Sure we would, wouldn’t we Henry?” Officer Stewart grinned from ear to ear.

Officer Cooper replied. “That’s right ma’am. We would be happy to help.”

“Good, because I have a feeling we’re going to need your help to get our belongings.”

“What do you have in mind ma’am?” Officer Cooper asked.

We finished the rest of the drive as I explained how Angel was indebted to Victor and how he doesn’t want either of us to leave, since we bring in the clients. That is when I laid out my idea. Both Henry and Clint agreed to go along with it. They actually seemed excited to help us out.

We pulled into the back parking lot where both Betty Jean and Sugar were out having a smoke. I could see their eyes widen as the patrol car pulled right up to the rear entrance. Officer Cooper got out of the car first and opened the trunk. We heard him digging around for the lock cutters and slammed down the trunk lid once he found them.

Opening the door for Angel, she got out and he grabbed her by the arm; while he waited for Officer Stewart and I. Once I was led to the front of the car, with Clint holding onto my arm, both Betty Jeans and Sugar’s eyes popped out of their heads. It had to be a sight to see. Both Angel and I looked a mess, and my white wedding gown was covered in blood. It was hard to suppress the laughter building inside me when I saw both of Victor’s girls turn and run into the club; I assume looking for Victor.

“Are you ready?” Office Cooper asked.

“Yes.” Both Angel and I said in unison.

I had a funny feeling that we were about to make Officer Stewarts day.

We all headed into the club and straight to the dressing room. Office Steward led me ahead of Angel and Henry. Within moments we were all in front of the door.

“Ready?” He asked.

“Ready as we’ll ever be.” I replied.

With that Clint kicked in the dressing room door. Within seconds girls were screaming and rushing about. I actually thought I was going laugh myself silly from the humor of it all.  Here was a room full of strippers, who shake their t i t s for a living, trying to hide behind sheer robes and s h i t.

“Ladies out! Now!” He bellowed.

Leading us away from the door, we watched as all the girls but Cinnamon left the room.

“Now why in the hell should I leave? What have these two bitch done anyway?” She asked.

Officer Cooper pushed Angel forward and answered her. “They’re involved in a murder. Do you want to be taken in for questioning ma’am?”

We watched Cinnamon stammer, as she grabbed her bag on robe. “Hell no! I never wanted anything to do with these two bitches. Hope they rot in prison.” With that she left the room with her boobs jiggling.

Both officers let go of our arms the moment the room was clear.

“Which lockers are yours?” Officer Cooper asked.

Angel walked over to them and pointed out both of ours. Clipping both the locks like they were butter, Angel and I moved to our duffel bags and started filling them with our items.  Since we didn’t keep much there, it didn’t take long to fill them up. On our way to our make-up tables, Victor came storming into the room. He took longer than I expected him to, but I could have guessed he was hiding a few illegal things for the city’s finest.

“What in the f u c k is going on in here?” He bellowed as he stormed into the room. “Officers what is the meaning of this? Violet, why are you covered in; what is that, blood?”

“Sir, please step aside. Both of these ladies were involved in a murder today?” Office Cooper answered.

“Like hell they were. Who was it they killed?” Victor asked.

“I don’t believe we said anything about them being suspect’s sir?” Officer Cooper replied.

“But you said murder? Who was killed?” Victor stammered.

“Mr. Damon Hannon.” Officer Stewart stated.

“What the hell Violet.”

“Not what the hell me Victor. You know damn well what the hell.” I spat. “Can we go now?”

“One moment Mrs. Hannon.” Officer Stewart retorted.

“Mrs. Hannon?” Victor stammered.

Clint stood fact to face with Victor, looking him dead in the eyes. “Victor is it. We understand that Mr. Hannon was a newer patron to this club and paid you an extreme amount of money for Mrs. Hannon’s time.”

“Yes, that is true.” He answered.

“Now we also understand that Miss Angel here had a debt with you. We understand it has been paid off. Is that true?” Officer Stewart asked.

“Yes, I guess you can say that.”

“Good, now these two ladies have decided that they want to be free of you as well. You will now allow us to remove them from your establishment. You will not contact them. If you do we will bring you up on charges of extortion, harassment, trafficking, and stalking. Is that clear?” Henry stated

“Oh, and if we find out you have sent anyone else to do your dirty work, we will begin to look into your business practices.” Clint interjected.

“What? You can’t do that. That’s extortion.” You could see the beads of sweat on Victor’s forehead.

“No, it’s the law and matter of just cause.” Officer Cooper retorted.

We all watched Victor turn a deep shade of red, as he began to huff and puff. He had to be reeling, knowing his two big money makers were leaving him high and dry.

With that, each officer took our bags and led us towards the door; ready to leave this place behind us, once we looked for Tone or course.

As we headed toward the main club, we ran into the sank Trinity. The bitch was seething, when she looked at me. I’m sure she was still pissed over me pulling her hair yesterday, when I ripped her off Victor’s c o c k.

“Glad to see you’re going bitch.” She called out to me.

I couldn’t help myself, I had always hated the c u n t. “Trinity, I’m sorry your daddy didn’t pay enough attention to you growing up. Here, here’s five dollars. I’m sure it’s the most you’ve made all week with those saggy t i t s.” With that I tossed the five at her, shoving passed, while heading toward the DJ booth.

Hearing Angel snicker behind me, I made my way to Tone. His eyes locked with mine and I could read something deep within them.

“Violet are you all right?” He ran towards me. His eyes full of guilt and fear.

“Yes, Tone. I’m fine.” I answered, looking down at my gross dress.

Tone began to stumble over his words, once he noticed the officers behind me. “Are you sure? What is going on? Why are you covered in blood? In a wedding dress? Violet, Angel? What is going on?”

“Tone, we’re fine. We have collected all our belongings from the locker room and we’ve quit.”

“What? Why?” He asked.

I smiled at Tone. “Come by tonight and we’ll fill you in.” I leaned in and kissed Tone on the cheek and whispered in his ear. “Thank you.”

I felt Tone squeeze my arm. “Okay, I’ll be by later tonight. Officers, please take good care of my girls.”

With that, we turned around and left the Cherry Picker for the last time. In a way it was bitter sweet, but I knew that being there was no longer safe. My father knows where I am. I’ll never be safe with him having that knowledge.
