Since it was a Monday, there weren't that many people so we wouldn't have to wait in line for long.

We pulled into one the empty spaces and headed inside. Cameron paid for our admission after a twenty minute fight on who would pay and we walked in.

A giant Ferris wheel greeted us as soon as we entered. It lit up with bright lights and was surrounded by a small pond filled with colourful fish. As you walked by the wheel, there where other rides and food stalls.

"Alright, which ride should we hit first?" Lucas asked looking around.

"The roller coaster." I said looking at the ride.

It occupied one entire side of the room and had many loops and fast turns.

"Really? Aren't like girls afraid of them?" Johnathan asked.

That earned from an eye roll from me and I went to wait in the short line. We were seated 3 to a car, with me sitting between Cameron and Joshua. The attendant strapped us in and checked the belts.

She was blushing profusely when helping the guys with their belts. I gave her a small smile when she made sure mines was okay. When she was done, she gave a thumbs up to the ride operator who welcomed us to the ride and stated the safety rules.

The car shot forward and everyone started screaming. The first loop came and we shifted towards the right. I started laughing when Cameron started yelling for the fun of it.

"Yippee!" He yelled as we did the loop.

Eventually the ride came to an end and we were let out of the safety bars.

"Yippee?" I said to Cameron as we got out of the car.

He laughed and grabbed my arm pulling me to the next ride. We ended up riding over five rides before stopping to grab some food.

Since the park was attached to a mall, we headed over to the food court to have lunch. We could have had food in the park itself but I don't think cotton candy counts as lunch.

I got myself a plate of spicy noodles and fries while everyone got burgers. We were eating and talking about random things when a bunch of girls came up to the table.

"Hi." The one in the middle said.

The guys just stared at her and I rolled my eyes at them.

"Hello." I replied back.

"Um, aren't you Joshua Collins?" She asked him ignoring me.

He nodded his head and went back to eating his burger.

"And you're Cameron Poler right?" Her friend asked Cameron.

"The one and only." He replied back cheekily.

"Wow, you guys are even hotter in person." She gushed.

"Why thank you ma'am." Cameron put a hand to his chest acting pleased.

I slapped him on the arm. "Cut that out you weirdo."

"Are you two together?" The girl in the middle asked.

"No, just best friends." I picked up a fry before popping it in my mouth.

"Oh that's nice. By the way, my name is Mindy." She proudly stated.

She was fairly pretty, with the long blonde hair and green eyes. Her short red dress hugged her body perfectly and showed off specific assets but I think that was the point.

"Hanna." The girl on her right said. She was similar to Mindy but had brunette hair.

"Emma." A girl with long black hair and glasses said.

"Maria." The last one mumbled so I had to strain my ears to hear her. She seemed fairly shy, ducking behind her friends.

"How can we help you ladies?" Lucas smiled putting on his charm. I would have thrown a fries at him but I ain't wasting precious food.

"Oh, we just wanted to make sure if it was you. We're actually heading to the amusement park right now." Mindy explained casting glances at Joshua.

"Hey, we are too. We just came here for some lunch, would you like to join us?" Lucas asked them hopeful.

Joshua glared at him but he was too busy looking at the girls.

"We'd love to!" Mindy exclaimed happily.

We stood up and threw away our trash before walking back to the park. Hanna started talking avidly with Lucas and Elliot while Emma conversed with Johnathan and Ron. Mindy tried to start a conversation with Joshua and Cameron but both were trying to keep their distance.

"Sorry about my friends, they're a little boy crazy." Maria spoke from beside me.

I smiled at her as she walked and fiddled with her fingers. "It's alright, the guys are good looking enough to attract the attention. But I must say, I thought you'd be all over them too."

She snapped her eyes to me and shook her head. "Oh no, I don't think I'm attractive enough to get their attention."

I stopped and pulled on her arm. "You're beautiful, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Besides, the guys aren't shallow, they look for personality and trust me from what I see, yours is great."

"That's easy for you to say, you're gorgeous and nice, it's no wonder you have so many male friends." Maria said looking back at her friends.

"You'd be surprised to know the reason why we're friends but enough of that. You are beautiful understand me? Beautiful." I smiled and started pulling her along until we caught up with the guys.

"So, Cameron or Joshua?" She asked as we tried to catch up.

"What?" I said confused.

"It's clear they both like you and you obviously like them back. Well ones your best friend so I don't know if that counts but still, who'd you rather choose?" She asked interested.

"For a shy guy, you sure do love to gossip."

She smiled and told me to answer the question.

"Well I'd say neither. Cameron is my best friend and that's all he'll ever be and Joshua, well that's complicated." I said exasperated.

"No it's not, if you liked someone you should say it before it's too late. Life is unexpected and who knows when someone can be gone." She said before walking away.

I stood there stunned at her words. How can I say anything when I didn't even know what to make of my feelings? I didn't want to feel anything for anyone, it's just too painful when they are gone.

"Mira!" Cameron shouted snapping me out of my thoughts.

Everyone had stopped and were waiting for me. I walked over to them and Cameron threw his arm around me.

"What were you thinking about?" He asked.

I shook my head and looked forward. I felt Joshua's eyes on me but didn't bother acknowledging him. However I didn't need to as Missy turned his attention towards her.

We were back in the park and spent the rest of the day going on rides with the girls. Missy was latched onto either Cameron and Joshua the entire time while the other girls were conversing with the other guys. Only Maria stayed by my side but as I got her to talk to Elliot, she soon left as well. But I was content to be by myself in the back.

I saw a booth selling jewellery and told everyone I would catch up them. No one heard me and they continued walking. I shrugged my shoulders and started looking through the bracelets and rings.

A beautiful sapphire jewel ring surround by small flower petals caught my attention. I picked it up and slipped it on my hand.

I was admiring the ring when I saw a bracelet with the letter E on it. It was engraved in a flower and the bracelet was made up of small diamonds.

"That's a top seller, why don't you try it on." The salesman said.

I took the bracelet from his outstretched on and fastened it around my wrist. I traced the E on the bracelet.

"I'll take both." I said handing the ring and bracelet back so he could pack them for me.

When I was done, I started walking off in the direction everyone had gone. After a while of walking and looking around, I still hadn't found them.

Sighing, I grabbed my phone to call them but it died as soon I tried to call Cameron. Ugh, the one time I forget to charge my phone and that's when I need it.

Grumbling to myself, I decided to walk around the whole park in case I found them. If I didn't then I'd just head back to wait at the car.

"Are you looking for someone?"

I whirled around to see a group of guys standing there. They looked to be around my age but I could tell from a mile away they meant trouble.

"No." I said before walking off.

"Hey hold on," one of them stepping forward and grabbing my hand, "we can help you."

"I don't need help," I said ripping my arm away, "least of all from you."

"Oh don't be like that, we can help." He stepped forward causing me to step back.

"I'm sure you could but like I said, I'm not looking for anyone nor do I need your help." I tried walking away but he ran forward and blocked my path.

"I don't take no for an answer." He and his friends snickered from behind me.

"Well I'm not one for saying yes." I replied back.

He lifted his hand up but I grabbed it and twisted it far behind his back. I spun us around to face his friends.

"Now," I said pushing his hand further up, "I'm going to ask you again nicely to leave."

"Or else?" He asked as he grunted in pain.

"You aren't really in any position to ask that." I twisted his arm harder until he yelled in pain.

His friends stood there shocked until now but snapped out of it when he yelled. One of them ran forward to help his friend but I threw the one I was holding into him.

They both fell onto the ground where one of them banged their head on the floor.

His others started to walk towards me but they didn't take so much as three steps before their path was blocked.

"Take one more step towards her and I will rip your legs off." Joshua said.

The guys looked at each other before helping their friends up and leaving.

"We can't leave you alone for one second can we?" Cameron said walking over and making sure I was okay.

"I didn't need help." I glared at him and pushed his arms away when he tried to hug me.

"Yeah, we saw you handle the first two but why are you mad at me?" He asked a little hurt.

"If you hadn't left me alone then I wouldn't have run into those stupid guys, but you were so busy talking with other girls you forgot about your best friend." I was raising my voice and some people turned to look at the commotion.

"I heard you say you'd catch up but then Missy said we had to check out this cool stall and dragged us all there. Mira do you really think I'd leave you alone like that?" Cameron tentatively took a step forward and placed his hands on my shoulders.

"Cam, I don't want any of your nonsense right now." I again pushed his hands off me.

"I left you alone for a few minutes, it's not like I knew this was going to happen. I don't even know what the big deal is." He was getting mad but I didn't care, if he hadn't left me alone this wouldn't have happened.

"The big deal is having to deal with guys who have the same mentality as Pearson, the big is having to constantly defend myself from such guys, the big deal is that all this has already happened once and we all know the outcome." I yelled finally snapping.

His face dropped and he had the decency to feel ashamed.

"Mira..."

I held up my hand to stop him. "Save it, let's just go home."

He nodded and tentatively took hold of my hand. When I didn't pull back he tightened his hold and started walking.

I stared at Joshua as we walked by him. He maintained eye contact with me until I turned my head away.

"Wait!" Elliot shouted.

He ran forward until he was in front of me.

"Lets take a ride on the Ferris wheel and then head to dinner. Please, let's not ruin this day." He said with sincerity shining bright in his eyes.

I wanted so badly to protest but his damn puppy dog eyes made me give in .

"Fine." I groaned and he smiled happily.

He grabbed my hand and pulled me away from Cameron. He dragged me to the Ferris wheel as everyone followed.

The line was short so we got our turn quickly. We split up the carts where Hanna rode with Ron, Emma rode with Johnathan, and Maria with Lucas and Elliot. Mindy was struggling between choosing with Cameron and Joshua while I stood off to the side rolling my eyes. Eventually the ride operator got fed up and pushed her in with the person closest to her and it just happened to be Cameron.

Joshua gestured for me to get in and got in after me.

"I hope you aren't scared of heights." Joshua said smirking as the ride starting moving.

"I'm not scared of anything." I said looking up at the sky through the window.

"Oh I highly doubt that." He said snorting.

"The only thing I was afraid of was losing my sister but that already happened, now I fear nothing." I said staring straight at him.

All amusement dropped from his face as he stared at the intensity of my look.

I sighed and looked away. "But you're also right, I do still fear something."

When he didn't say anything, I continued.

"I fear not being able to get justice for my baby sister. I wasn't able to do anything for her when she was alive but that doesn't mean I won't die trying right now."

"You're an amazing sister you know that right?" He said looking at me.

I laughed sadly. "Yeah right, I couldn't even protect my sister."

"It's not about protection, you can't protect someone when you didn't know what you had to protect them from. It's about the love you had for her and still have for her. You did everything you could when she was alive and are doing whatever you can now. She was lucky to have you."

He said it with so much sincerity that I was so astonished I reached forward and hugged him.

"Thank you." I said crying into his shoulder.

I felt him wrap his arm around me and pull me in tighter.

"Why do you always do that?" I mumbled. I don't know about him, but feeling my lips brush against his skin was causing me to get goosebumps.

"Do what?" He asked.

"Hug me back tighter." I mumbled again.

"You're not the only one in need of a comforting hug princess." He responded.

I pulled back and looked at him before I realized our cart had stopped at the top. I stared out of the entire park before looking up. The full moon was directly above our heads and it felt like we were close enough to touch it.

"Beautiful."

I looked back at Joshua who was looking at me.

"Yeah, the moon does look beautiful." I said looking back up.

The ride started back up but I still caught his words. "I wasn't talking about the moon princess."

*******************************

After exiting the park, we headed to a nearby Indian restaurant. It wasn't as fancy as the one we went to last time but the food was still awesome. Even better was that it was a buffet.

I piled my plate with food before heading back to the table.

"Damn, you sure can eat." Lucas said laughing.

"Oh that's nothing, Mira once ate three veggie burgers, two plates of fries, a whole pizza and brownies. Then she said she was still hungry." Cameron said laughing as he recalled everything.

"I swear you're more of an enemy than a best friend." I grumbled as I dug into my plate of food.

"Oh you love me." He said ruffling my head.

"Yeah I'm starting to think why." I said smearing his nose with some chutney.

He planted a kiss to my cheek causing the chutney to go on my face.

"Cameron!" I grabbed a napkin and wiped it off before throwing it at him.

I saw Joshua smiling at me and I glared at him.

"What?"

He shook his head smiling and went back to eating. Weirdo.

The girls came back to the table with the smallest amount of food.

"Did they run out of food or something?" I asked them.

"No there's plenty." Mindy said sitting down.

"I'm confused, if there's a lot of food why didn't you bring any?" I asked.

The guys started snickering and I rolled my eyes at them.

"Oh if we ate more than this we would be like so fat." Hanna said taking a bite of her food.

"Seriously?" I said snorting, "you're worried back getting fat?"

"Some of us actually care about our figures." Emma snapped glaring at me slightly.

"Okay then." I breathed out. I guess that means more food for me!

I dug into my food again and quickly finished it before going back for more.

"Honestly where does the food you eat go?" Elliot asked.

I shrugged my shoulders and started eating.

"Ugh I hate these skinny bitches, they eat whatever they want and don't gain any weight. Even without exercise, they stay skinny." Mindy said stabbing her fork in her food.

"Skinny bitch? You do realize that about an hour and a half ago I took down two guys so I'd watch you say about me. And for your information, I do work out. I run over 2 kilometres nearly every morning." I said glaring at her.

She flushed with embarrassment and ducked her head down. The other girls looked at each other but didn't say anything.

Cameron elbowed me in the ribs and shook his head. I sighed and apologized.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to snap at you. I just don't take kindly to being called names." I played with my food suddenly feeling less hungry.

"It's okay, I shouldn't have judged you like that." She smiled at me.

I could tell she was forcing it but I appreciated the effort so I smiled back. When everyone shifted the conversation, I saw her glare at me before Joshua looked her way.

She immediately engrossed him in a conversation and I had to resist the urge to roll my eyes.

When we finished, the guys paid the bill as we did last time and we left. The girls talked with the guys while they waited for Mindy.

"So Joshua, if you're free tomorrow maybe we can-"

"Sorry, we have plans." He said cutting Mindy off.

She stood there shocked for a second before turning to Cameron.

"How about-"

"Sorry, the plan includes all of us." He threw his arm around my shoulder and pulled me to his side.

"Seriously? What is with you guys?! I mean what do you even see in her? All day you've both sought her attention and kept your own on her, she's not even that pretty. You have four beautiful girls in front of you and still all you guys care about is this emotional bitch." She snapped.

Cameron slid is arm off me and stepped forward. After Joshua did the same, the other guys followed as well. I groaned at them and pushed aside Cameron and Joshua to get some space.

"The only bitch around here is you Mindy. How dare you call my best friend one, she has been nothing but nice and when she snapped it was only because you insulted her to her face. You intruded on our day out together and we didn't say anything, in fact we welcomed you happily but that doesn't give you the right to say anything to or about her." Cameron said furious.

"Oh no need to be so formal Cameron, just directly tell them to fuck off." Joshua spat.

"Excuse me?!" Mindy asked appalled.

"Difficulty hearing? I said fuck off bitch." He stepped forward causing her to jump back.

"Alright enough!" I yelled trying to calm everyone down.

I turned to Mindy and her friends and told them to politely leave.

"Forgive my friends behaviour, they have no right to talk to you like that." I said apologetic.

"Oh shut it bitch! I'm so sick and tired of you! You act all high and mighty and innocent but you're not! So-"

Before Mindy could finish what she wanted to say Joshua had stepped forward again with a murderous expression.

"She is politely asking you to leave so leave, or else we have other ways of making you do so."

Her eyes widened but she still didn't get the clue to back down. Thankfully her
