~ Madison's POV ~

"I hate this room."

I couldn't help but laugh, looking around the room where Santiago and I spent so much of our time together when he was in hospital here.

Somehow, we'd ended up in the exact same room again.

Santiago did say that when he was in here, Arturo paid as much as he could to get Santiago the best room and since Santi did the same for me, I guess I ended up in the same room too.

"I hate it, but this is where I told you I loved you for the first time Santi, so I can't help but love it at the same time."

Santiago gave me a smile before his eyes drifted over to Romeo who was sleeping in the little bassinet next to my bed.

"I can't believe that now we're here with this little one, less than a year later." He was so mesmerised by our son, I noticed that even while I delivered the placenta, while the nurses were cleaning me up and while I fed Romeo for the first time, Santiago just couldn't keep his eyes off our newborn.

"Three down, two more to go." He flashed me a wide grin causing me to scoff. "You can't even complain Maddie, remember the first one was like buy one get one free."

I had to cover my mouth to stop my laugh escaping when he referred to my twin pregnancy as buy one get one free.

"So? I've told you I'll only go up to four."

"So, if you have four pregnancies for the four children that you want, we would have five in the end. Kenzie was the bonus child."

Once again I laughed at his words. Although his logic didn't make any sense to me, I knew where he was coming from. He just really wanted five children.

Instead of replying to him I just rolled my eyes, giving him a tired smile.

"You should get some sleep Maddie, it's only 7am. After what you've been through, you must be exhausted."

It's true, I was. Giving birth is fucking hard, but doing it with barely any kind of pain relief is a whole other level.

It was crazy how it had only been four hours though since we left the hotel and came to the hospital for me to give birth to our baby. It actually didn't feel like it had been four hours, it felt like much less.

I nodded head in agreement letting out a tired yawn showing just how tired I was.

"Can you watch him please if he wakes up?" I'm pretty sure Santiago said something in response to that but I fell asleep before I could process what it was.

The next time I woke up was to the very pleasant of a newborn baby crying at around 10am.

At least it was just one baby this time. My introduction to motherhood consisted of two newborn babies and let me tell you, it was hard.

When I woke up the first time, Santiago was fast asleep in his chair while fed Romeo who then very quickly went back to sleep. Unfortunately even though I was still exhausted it took me a little while to fall asleep now that the sun was streaming into the room.

I must have slept for another few hours after that because the next time I woke up, Romeo was crying again, ready for another feed.

"You hungry my baby?" Romeo continued to cry as I picked him up into my arms, looking around the hospital room which was now empty.

There was no sign of Santiago at all.

I let out a sigh as I undid my gown before helping Romeo to latch onto my breast. Once he was happily feeding, his cries quietened and I finally had the chance to check my phone to see that it was 1:30pm.

After checking the time, I read through my notifications, seeing a couple from Arturo who was complaining about the twins giving him a headache back at the hotel but that was all I had.

Just as I was about to click on Santiago's contact to call him, the door to my room opened revealing the man himself.

"Oh crap, you're awake? I thought I'd have more time than that."

I watched as he came into my room, holding a familiar bag from the bakery that I used to get us breakfast from everyday while he was here.

"Five croissants - two each and one to share, two packs of fruit and two orange juices. I didn't know if you wanted water or not so I got the juice just in case."

He gave me a proud smile as he put the bag down on the table in front of me before taking a seat right next to my bed like I used to do with him.

"You didn't have to get me food Santi."

He just shrugged his shoulders in response, giving me a grin as he started taking out the food.

"You did this for me everyday while I was here. Even if you're only going to be here for one day, I should do it for you too. Plus you're my queen, of course I'm going to get you food."

If I had to make a list of the stupidest things I've cried at, this would definitely be on there.

"Maddie? Why are you crying?" I shook my head, covering my face with my hands as he came closer to me, leaving the food for the moment.

"Did I get the order wrong? I can go back if you want baby."

He actually thinks I would cry over that?

"No, it's not that. Nothing is wrong." I let out a shaky breath as I moved my hands, looking at the most perfect human being ever. "I just love you so much Santiago."

The cutest thing was that I could tell he was extremely relieved when he realised he hadn't done anything wrong to make me cry.

"I love you too baby."

He gave me a quick kiss on the cheek before he turned back to the food, mumbling some more words a little quieter although loud enough for me to hear.

"Even if you did try to give me your pee fetish."

It only took me a second to realise what he just said before my mouth dropped open and a blush rose up onto my cheeks at the mention of that incident.

"I do not have a pee fetish! It was an accident." Of course he just laughed at this, giving me a teasing smirk.

"It's okay to admit it Maddie, I won't judge."

All I could do was narrow my eyes at him while he just laughed to himself at my expense.

I knew he wouldn't forget about what happened so quickly, I don't know why I thought that giving birth to his child would earn me a break.

"Stop making fun of me." He glanced over at me as he cut the croissant that we were sharing in half.

"You forgot the magic word. But don't worry, I'll give you a hint, it starts with the letter 'p'."

The way he exaggerated the letter 'p' as he gave me a smirk just caused my blush to darken. His words brought me a sudden flashback to the last time he said that which was yesterday at home.

Flashback

"Mama I want more pancakes."

"How have you already finished? And, I didn't hear you say the magic word." I gave Cameron the look as he stood next to me, holding his empty plate out to me, while I was busy finishing off making Kenzie's pancakes.

His nose scrunched up as he tried to think of the magic word causing Santiago to laugh before he came around the island and bent down to whisper to Cameron.

"I'll give you a hint, it starts with the letter 'p'."

"Oh my God! You were making fun of me!" As soon as the penny dropped, he burst into a fit of laughter which only increased when I glared at him.

"I was surprised you didn't catch it at the time."

I shook my head at him while turning away, deciding I should just focus on my breakfast instead of my fiancé. I could feel Santiago's eyes on me as I ate and I could also see that annoying smirk.

That smirk... it made him so slappable and yummy at the same time.

"So..." When he spoke, breaking the silence around us, I turned my head to glare at him causing him to smile. "I love you Maddie."

"I don't care." He grinned at my response before kissing my cheek again. He then began to focus his attention on Romeo who seemed to be waking up, although he still looked half asleep.

One of the most frustrating things about newborn babies is that they're always so sleepy. I just want to talk to him and play with him but unfortunately, he's just too little and lazy yet.

It fell quiet for a moment between us until I spoke again.

"What time was your meeting with Hugo today?"As soon as I mentioned Hugo, Santiago's eyes widened and he suddenly stood up, taking his phone out of his pocket.

"Damn." He let out a sigh as he ran a hand through his hair, reading through the notifications on his phone. "Maddie, I missed it. It was half an hour ago."

As much as Hugo seemed to be alright with Santiago, I wasn't naive enough to believe that he wouldn't be angry that Santiago had stood him up.

"Call him and explain, just tell him that I had the baby last night and-"

Before I could finish my sentence, Romeo started whining next to me in his bassinet catching my attention. I quickly reached over to pick him up, hoping I could stop him from crying at such a bad time.

"I'll try. I'll go in the hallway to call him because he looks like he's going to..." Santiago's sentence trailed off when Romeo let out a loud cry confirming his suspicions. I gave Santiago a sheepish smile as I rocked Romeo in my arms, trying to calm him down before I fed him.

Once he left the room to call Hugo, he wasn't gone very long before he came back just as a doctor came in behind him to check on me and the baby.

The doctor started reading through her chart before checking my vitals on the machines while I spoke to Santi quietly as Romeo continued feeding.

"What did he say?"

"He wasn't happy at first but when I told him about Romeo being born last night his tone changed completely. He's given us two days and then he wants to see us."

"Oh, well that's good isn't it? At least he hasn't put a hit out on you for standing him up."

Although I was trying to lighten the mood, Santiago just let out a scoff at this, shaking his head.

"He wants to meet the kids too so I'm not sure exactly how good this is. They're not the kind of people I want my children to meet."

"It'll be okay baby."

There really wasn't much left to say, it's not like we had much of a choice, we knew how dangerous these people could be, we couldn't defy their request.

<<<<<<< >>>>>>> <<<<<<<<

The rest of that day passed by with Santiago and I just resting whenever we could in between feeding and changing Romeo.

Unfortunately I didn't get discharged until very late in the evening but I was at least grateful that Santi and I could sleep at the hotel instead of at the hospital.

However, the doctor had advised us against flying home with our baby for at least two weeks which meant we were stuck here for another two weeks. Usually it would be longer but since we were flying private and not commercial, the doctor wasn't too worried about germs spreading.

By the time we got back to the hotel that evening, only Arturo was awake. We introduced him to little Romeo and he of course held him until he very quickly gave him back when he filled his diaper.

Then, that night Santiago and I spent waking up every couple of hours to tend to our baby.

It was just the first day of the next year, at least.

"Mama?" I lifted my head away from Romeo who I was holding against my chest early in the morning when he woke up, shifting my gaze towards the door when I heard Kenzie's small voice. When she saw me awake, she pushed the door open further and stepped inside with Cameron.

They both stood to the side in our bedroom, watching the baby in my arms with curious expressions. When it was clear they weren't going to come over to the bed like usual, I gave them an encouraging smile, gesturing for them closer to the bed.

"Is that baby?" I nodded my head at Kenzie when the two of them stopped next to the edge of the bed and she pointed at the little baby in my arms.

I carefully shuffled across the bed closer Santi who was watching the twins carefully. It was as if he was waiting to see their reaction to meeting their little brother for the first time.

It was definitely a big moment for us as parents and as a family.

"Come here." They both looked unsure but eventually they got on the bed, Kenzie coming to my side while Cameron moved across the bed into Santiago's arms before he turned to look at me.

"Sister?" Santiago cracked a smile at Kenzie's question while I just shook my head. "No baby, it's still a brother. His name is Romeo."

"Romeo." I nodded my head as she said his name aloud, testing it out, before she reached out to hold his hand. While she did this, I turned to look at Cameron who was just frowning at his little brother.

"Cameron? You want to see him?"

I reached out, holding my spare hand out to him but he just shook his head, moving back closer to his father.

"What's the matter?" This time it was Santiago who spoke for the first time, causing Cameron to turn his head to look at him.

"You like baby more."

"What? Of course we don't. We love you all just the same."

"You do?" Santiago nodded his head before I spoke, causing them both to look at me. "We do. We love you all to the moon and back."

Cameron's eyes widened a little at this and he looked at me in awe.

"That's far mama." I let out a small laugh while nodding my head in agreement. "It's so far."

"Can I touch him?" Cameron slowly moved closer to me, watching and waiting for me to nod. As soon as I did he came closer, his eyes focussing on Romeo's face as he touched his little foot.

"He doesn't want to talk to me?" Even though Cameron was deadly serious and seemed so offended, both Santiago and I let out a laugh.

"He can't talk yet, let's just wait for a while."

Neither of the twins really understood that but they just nodded although they were clearly still offended that Romeo wasn't talking to them.

Thankfully Cameron chilled out after that and we managed to spend the rest of that day peacefully in the hotel room with them while also looking after Romeo.

I knew it wouldn't be as easy to cope with the three of them once we got back to our home in LA but since I had Santi and Arturo to help, the first few days weren't bad.

~ Santiago's POV ~

"Don't talk unless I give you permission. Do you understand?"

The twins nodded their heads keeping a straight face when I bend down to speak to them.

"Okay daddy."

"I didn't give you permission to speak Kenzie."

"Sorry daddy."

"Mackenzie stop."

"Oops." She quickly covered her mouth clearly unaware that I was just playing with her. I gave her a smile before I stood up, turning to face the same building we all woke up in that day when Hugo had us kidnapped.

Hugo had sent a car to come and pick us up from the hotel since he didn't want to disclose the location to us.

Pussy.

All I knew was that Hugo was going to be there, I didn't know about anyone else and I also didn't know what this was all about. I just wanted some answers so that I could move on with my life.

"Come on." I stood up, holding each of their hands as we walked to the front door while Maddie carried Romeo in her arms and Arturo followed close behind me. We rang the bell before I turned to look at Maddie as we waited.

"Let me know if you want to leave and we'll go."

All she did was give me a smile before the door opened revealing an unfamiliar man who was dressed like a butler.

"Ah, Mr Hernández, please come in."

I glanced over at Maddie one last time before I walked with the twins inside and Arturo and Maddie followed.

This could turn out to be the stupidest mistake I've ever made.

"If you would like to wait in this room, Mr Hugo will be with you shortly." The butler guided us to a living room before leaving us to sit and wait alone.

"Daddy is that man your friend?" Cameron gave me a smile as he leaned around Kenzie to talk to me while I just shook my head, pushing him back to straighten him up again.

"No, he's not. Hey, didn't I tell you not to talk unless I give you permission?"

"No, you said to talk if I want to." He gave me a cheeky grin while I just rolled my eyes, leaning over Kenzie to kiss his forehead before I kissed hers too.

Just as she gave me a grin, the door opened revealing the one person I hoped I wouldn't have to see today. She seemed like she was surprised to see so many people sitting in the room, but when she took in the familiar faces, shock replaced her surprise.

It fell deadly silent as her eyes focused on Arturo who I was sure was staring back at her. The difference was, she was shocked to see him and he was just glaring at her.

As much as I knew deep down he loved her, I would not want to be her right now. He was so angry at her, there's no telling what he would say to her.

"Arturo..."

She slowly walked towards him, the shock of seeing him after all this time clearly knocking some sense out of her.

"Lucia!"

Suddenly the twins jumped up from the couch, running over to her before I could try to stop them. Their sudden appearance caused her to break her stare down with Arturo when she had to quickly bend down to hug them.

It was so clear that she was trying to keep her smile on her face while she spoke to them but anyone over the age of five could tell she was faking it.

"Cameron, Mackenzie please come back over here."

When the twins heard their mother's clipped tone, they both very quickly came back and sat down between Maddie and I, leaving Lucia standing there along again.

This time she didn't even try to hide the hurt on her face at the fact Maddie had called the twins back.

What did she expect though? She worked her way into our life and then broke Arturo's heart. Yes, the fact she got called back here wasn't her fault, but she ignored him and that definitely was her fault.

The second Hugo came in behind her, she replaced her expression of hurt with a blank one.

"Santiago!" He completely ignored Lucia as he came over to me, his smile stretching across his face when I stood up to shake his hand.

He was a jerk but if I didn't shake his hand, he probably would have killed me there and then.

"How are you doing? How's the little one?" He turned to look at Maddie who stood up with Arturo's help before coming over to us with baby Romeo in her arms.

"He's good." A proud smile formed on my face as I pulled Maddie closer to me, wrapping my arm around her waist.

"He looks perfect, congratulations Santiago." He smiled fondly at my newborn son before he turned his attention to the twins sitting on the couch. "Which one of them is older?"

I gestured for them both to come over to me as I took Cameron's hand. "Cameron is the eldest."

He nodded his head, taking in the my soon to be five year old son smiling as he reached out to shake his hand. After that he turned his attention to Kenzie, giving her a soft smile.

"And what is your name?" Kenzie smiled shyly as she shuffled closer to my leg, hiding behind it causing Maddie to laugh.

Kenzie was actually what I would class as a social butterfly but she was usually shy around the people she met for the first time.

"Mackenzie."

"That's a beautiful name." When he gave her another smile she stepped towards him forgetting all about her shyness.

"Thank you. My mama chose my name." She gave him a proud
