THIRTY
LILAH

"I'm sorry." I whimper as I calm down from my panic attack. "I'm really sorry."

Ollie and I left the restaurant as soon as I began to panic. He drove me home and now I'm sat on the edge of the bed with Ollie crouched in front of me, a look of concern etched onto his beautiful features.

I've been scared for a long time, worried that Dale's parent's could kill me at any point.

I've had to endure those animals for years. So hearing that they've gone missing, has put me on edge.

"I'm sorry." I nibble on my bottom lip and Ollie releases a gentle sigh.

"Baby, stop apologising. You don't need to apologise okay." I inhale a shaky breath before nodding my head. "Are you okay, beautiful?" Ollie questions, gently placing his hands on my arms.

"I'm just a little shaken up that's all." I admit nodding my head and he leans down to kiss me on the forehead.

"You know I'd never let anyone hurt you, right?" Ollie tells me and I nod my head. "Dale's parent's won't ever get the chance to lay a hand on you. I promise"

"Ollie you can't make those kind of promises." I sigh gently and he furrows his eyebrows.

"Yes I can." He grumbles and I laugh lightly, sniffling.

There's a small pout on his face as he continues to crouch down in front of me. I reach up and lightly skim the pad of my thumb over his smooth skin.

"I know you want to, Ollie, but we have to prepare for the worst." I sniffle and grab a tissue, wiping away the rest of my tears. "Stop pouting." I giggle and he can't help but smile before standing up.

He takes a seat next to me and grabs hold of my hand, interlacing our fingers together.

"There's so much shit going on." He begins to speak, rubbing his thumb up and down the skin of my hand.

"I know."

"I love you, Lilah."

"And I love you, Ollie."

Two weeks later

I bite my nails anxiously.

With everything going on, I've only just realised that my period is three weeks late!

My period is never late.

I stare at all of the different pregnancy tests in the supermarket with furrowed eyebrows. Why are there so many?!

"Clear blue," I jump in shock and look up at whoever startled the fuck out of me, however, my whole body freezes at who is in front of me.

I take a step back.

Hannah.

Who looks awfully ill. Her skin is pale and her cheeks are sunken in — she looks about ready to pass out.

"You've got some fucking nerve." I snarl at her and she bites her lip and looks down at the ground. "Are you so blind to see what a horrible person you are? You've taken Greyson away from his father! That poor little boy was trying to run away from you!" I whisper harshly and roll my eyes when I hear her begin to sniffle.

"C-Can we speak somewhere privately please?" She asks and my jaw clenches. "Please, it's about Greyson."

Now I find myself sitting in a small café with Hannah sat in front of me and my pregnancy test tucked away in my bag. I glare at the blonde woman who sits across the table, feeling angry at the way she's treated my Ollie and little Greyson.

"I know what kind of person I am, I know the misery I've caused to Ollie. All I wanted was a child and I used Ollie —"

"You raped him." I correct her and watch as her face goes red with embarrassment. "You should be in prison for what you've done to Ollie. What do you think your son will think of you when he grows up and starts asking questions?" I lean forward, glaring at her.

"My son hates me. I allowed him to get hurt by my ex-boyfriend who was abusive. I chose him over my own son." She begins to cry but I don't feel sorry for her at all.

She deserves to feel hurt and ashamed. Hannah is an awful human being and that is something about her that will never change.

"You allowed that innocent little boy to get hurt, you can't call yourself a mother, Hannah, you don't deserve to be. Ollie would do anything for Greyson, he deserves to be in his life." I tell her and watch as she begins to sob.

"Stop fucking crying."

"I'm dying."

Oh.

"Oh."

My eyes widen and I look away from her.

"Greyson hates me, he won't care if I'm no longer here. I mean, maybe this is my comeuppance for being such a horrible bitch." She laughs lightly, sniffling.

"How?"

"Terminal cancer. I found out too late." She slowly nods her head and takes the tissue that I hand out to her. "I'm sorry for everything, really I am. For how I've treated Ollie and how I treated you." She apologise but all I can do is nod and look away.

As harsh as it is, I don't care and neither will Ollie.

"Please look after him and please don't tell him about me." Hannah pleads as we stand outside Ollie's home. I look at Greyson who sits in the backseat of her car.

"Of course we'll look after him." I assure her and she nods before opening the back down.

"Hi, little man." I beam at Greyson who reaches out for me with a huge smile on his face.

I don't miss the hurt expression that morphs onto Hannah's face when the little boy completely ignores her.

"I guess this is it then." I say awkwardly and she nods.

"I guess it is." She smiles gently. "Congratulations by the way." I furrow my eyebrows at her words but then realisation soon hits me.

"I don't know yet."

"Well you'll be an amazing mother, better than me." Definitely will be. "Goodbye." I watch her get back into her car and drive away.

"Am I safe now, miss Lilah? I won't get hurt anymore?" My eyes begin to water at the little boy's question and I nod, placing a small kiss on the top of his head. I stare at Hannah's retreating car and hope that this will be the last time this boy ever has to see her again.

"You are, Greyson. Do you want to see your daddy?" I giggle as he squeals in excitement nodding his head.

I make my way into Ollie's home with Greyson in my arms.

"Ollie?" I call out for him and seconds later I hear his footsteps rushing towards me. I laugh lightly.

"Ba—" He freezes when he sees Greyson in my arms. "What.....I......How?" He stutters, walking over to us and taking Greyson from my arms.

My heart warms when I watch him hold the little boy close to his chest.

"I'll explain later." I whisper and he nods his head.

"Hi!" Greyson beams at his father and I smile at the two adorable people.

But my smile slowly falls when I remember why I went out in the first place.

"I can't believe my son is here with me. We can be a family!" Ollie exclaims, his face flushed and I smile.

A family.

"Ollie." I say quietly and he pauses his movements around the bedroom.

"Yes, you okay?" He comes over to me and takes my hand. "Speak to me, baby."

"Well I bumped into Hannah at the supermarket." I gulp and watch as he continues to listen to me with furrowed eyebrows.

"I know that, baby." He grins.

"I was buying a pregnancy test." I blurt out.
