FOUR
LILAH

I text my husband, asking if we are still on for our date at seven. He actually replies saying yes, but that he'll meet me at the restaurant because he has to stay at work a bit later.

I arrive at the restaurant at seven exactly and ask the waitress if I can take a seat at our table. She leads me to the table and I sit down and order a drink.

Half an hour goes by and then an hour and then two. Of course, Dale is not answering any of my calls and messages.

I pay for my drinks and then make my way out of the restaurant. What makes my night even worse is the now pouring rain. Do I cry?

"I look forward to doing business with you, Mr Burhan." I hear a voice behind me and I turn my head, my eyes widening when I see Ollie shaking the hand of an older man.

Oh my fuck, this is embarrassing! Really embarrassing!

I turn the other way and pull my phone out to get an uber.

But it is very much too late when I hear Ollie say my name.

I lock my phone and slowly close my eyes.

I turn to look at him and pretend to look surprised.

"Ollie." I smile gently and he returns the gesture but then furrows his eyebrows when he sees how soaking wet I am from the rain.

My eyes widen further when he grabs hold of my hand and pulls me to stand under his umbrella.

"What are you doing out here by yourself like this, Lilah?" He looks down at me with furrowed eyebrows and I bite my lip. His eyes look me up and down and my body heats up under his stare.

"Dale-"

"That's all I need to know. Seriously, Lilah, why are you still with this man?" He questions. "He's left you here, it's pouring down with rain. What husband stands their own wife up?" I look away from his deep brown eyes and stare at my feet.

"Well he said he has a lot going on at work." I shrug.

"No. That man left way before five this afternoon." My eyebrows raise.

God, I'm such an idiot.

"I should probably get going." I whisper and Ollie looks down at me with a sad expression.

"Let me take you home." He offers and I just nod and follow him to a matte black jeep.

He opens the passenger door for me and I smile, quietly thanking him before sitting down into the heated leather seat. He gently closes the door and then makes his way over to the drivers side.

"What's your address, beautiful?" He turns to face me and I give him my address.

Ollie switches the ignition on and begins to drive me home. For the first ten minutes we sit in silence until he decides to break it.

"I'm guessing Dale has told you about the one week business trip." I frown at Ollie's words and turn to look at him. "I take that as a no." He says when he takes a quick glance at me.

"No, he hasn't told me." I whisper.

"It's a business trip in Spain. You're absolutely more than welcome to come with, I'm sure Dale would love to have you go with him." I hold my scoff at the last part, I can also hint the sarcasm in his voice.

He knows Dale would not give a shit whether I stayed at home or went with him. If anything he would be very annoyed if I chose to go.

"Why would I need to go on a business trip that has nothing to do with me?" I question him and a light smirk falls on his face.

"Many people take their loved ones on business trips. You'd be surprised." He shrugs, indicating to turn right.

Why does he looks so hot checking the mirrors? Why does he looks so hot in general?

"Fuck." I whisper and look out the window.

"I would love for you to come." My eyes bulge out of their sockets and my head whips round to face him. "Of course it's up to you." He blushes and I look at him amusement.

How can he be all confident one second and then be blushing the next?

"I'll have a think about it."

"I don't understand why you needed to come along." Dale grumbles as we drag our suitcase through the airport.

"Your boss invited me." He scoffs and I roll my eyes.

"You could of just said no."

"Well I thought that the nice weather could help me finish my last few drafts. We haven't been on holiday together for a long time also." I reason with him. "It will be nice."

"I'll be too busy with work." He tells me and my face falls.

"Just like you were too busy to show up on our date night?" I retort and he throws me a glare.

"I told you, the boys invited me out for drinks. I'm sorry I forgot, now get over it." People around us look and I put my head down in embarrassment. "Give me your boarding pass."

I hand him my boarding pass and watch as he looks at it with furrowed eyebrows.

"We're on completely different ends of the plane. Someone fucked up the seating." He raises his voice a little and I wince at his tone.

"It's a two and a half hour flight. It will be fine." I whisper.

"Yeah, well how come you've got a first class fucking ticket?" I snatch the boarding pass out of his hand and take a look for myself.

Oh shit.

"Does it really matter?" I give him a bored look and he storms off, clearly throwing his daily tantrum.

We soon end up boarding the plane. I can't hold back my smile when Dale goes to the right in economy and I go to the left, towards first class.

However, my smile falls when I spot Ollie sat in the seat next to mine. I slowly make my way towards him and when he senses I'm standing next to him, he looks up at me with a small smile.

"You came." He grins and I bite my lip and put my stuff in the overhead compartment.

I take a seat and look over at him.

"Did you do that on purpose?" A mischievous smile etches onto his face and he picks up his glass of champagne and takes a sip. "I'll take that as a yes."

"Well you deserve the best, others I'm not too sure of." He shrugs and gives me a cute smile.

"My husband isn't very happy, Ollie." I frown but he looks like he couldn't care less.

"Not happy about the fact he doesn't get to sit next to his beautiful wife or not happy about the fact he has to sit in economy instead of first class?" I decide to not answer his question because we both know why he's upset.

"Thank you, I guess. You didn't have to do this." I smile gently and he winks.

"No worries, beautiful. I was wondering, only if it's okay with your amazing husband,-" there we go again with the sarcasm,"-if you'd go out for drinks with me when we get to Spain." He blushes and gives me a shy smile.

"A couple drinks won't hurt." His face brightens and he eagerly nods his head.

"Can't wait."

Neither can I.
