FIFTEEN
OLLIE

It's been one whole week since I've seen Lilah.

One fucking week.

She says she's been too busy but I feel like something is definitely wrong.

"Ollie."

I blink and look at my uncle to see him looking at me with furrowed eyebrows.

"Are you even listening to a word I'm saying?" He frowns and I sigh. "Lilah?" He raises his eyebrows and I bite my lip.

"It's nothing. What were you saying?" I adjust my glasses on my face.

"Some of your staff are slacking in their departments. I wanna have a word with them." My eyebrows furrow at his words. "I've been observing and there's one in particular I really don't like, Ollie." I sit up straight.

"Who?" I tilt my head.

"His name is Dale." I chuckle lightly. "What's so funny?"

"He's Lilah's husband." His eyes widen at the new found information.

"Ollie, he really is a prick! What the hell is she doing with a man like that?" My jaw clenches, knowing exactly why she's with him.

But it's not my story to tell.

"I have no idea, uncle." I sigh.

"Well as I was saying. I'll be having a word with these certain individuals because they're going to be the reason that this business goes to shit." He points out and I nod my head in agreement.

"That's fine. You do what you've got to do." I stand up and button up my suit jacket.

All I can think about is Lilah.

Fuck I need a drink.

I make my way out of my office and step out of the building, inhaling a deep breath.

I just want to see her and know that she is okay.

Great! Now I'm sounding like a clingy idiot. My phone begins to ring and I go to hang up straight away but my heart skips a beat when I see Lilah's name as the caller ID.

I answer straight away.

"Hi." I can't hold back my smile but it soon falls when I hear her sniffling down the phone "Lilah, baby? What's wrong?!"

"C-Can I stay with you tonight?" She whispers and I'm nodding my head but then come to the realisation that the beautiful woman cannot see me.

"Yes, of course. What's happened? Do you need me to come and pick you up?" I panic as I make my way to my car.

I don't like this one bit.

Dale called in sick this morning so I know for sure that this has got something to do with him.

"I-It's fine. I'll come to you. Are you sure it's okay for me to stay?" She sniffles and I can hear her shuffling around.

"Baby, you know I don't have an issue with you staying with me. I've missed you." I admit to her and feel my face begin to heat up.

"Really? I've missed you too." A huge grin etches onto my face.

She's missed me too!

I hear quite a loud bang and a small gasp escapes Lilah's mouth.

"I-I'll see you later." She rushes out before hanging up.

I look down at the phone and frown when I see the home screen.

"Fuck." I grit my teeth.

What the hell has happened?!

I finish up the food that I've made for my Lilah. She should be here anytime soon.

I set up everything on the table on the balcony of my flat and then pour two glasses of champagne.

There is soon a knock on the door and I find myself running to the front door. I swing it open and Lilah looks up at me with wide bloodshot eyes — I instantly pull her into a tight hug.

"What's happened?" I whisper, gently stroking her back before gently pulling her into my home.

I pull back and look down at her, keeping my hands gently placed on her shoulders.

"My parents came to visit." She looks down at the ground so I gently place my finger under her chin and tilt her head up. "They want to extend the marriage contract." My face falls at her words.

"Fuck, Lilah." I run my hands through my hair.

"Dale's not happy about it. B-Basically took it out on the whole house." She releases a short laugh, wiping her eyes. "He trashed my office out of anger. Luckily all my work is on a usb but still that's not the point. It's going to take weeks to get my office refurbished."

"I'll sort that out for you and I'll sort this contract out as well." I say and her eyes widen.

"It's not that easy, Ollie. Dale's parents are — they're just complicated." My jaw clenches. "I'm sorry that it's been so long since we've seen each other, it's just been really stressful." My face softens.

"It's okay, beautiful. I made some food for you." Her eyes brighten and I grab her hand and lead her out on to my balcony.

Luckily I've got an outdoor heater that will keep her warm but I smile in amusement when I finally notice that she is clad in one of my hoodies.

"Nice hoodie." I tease and she bites her lip, looking away.

"It's yours." She mumbles taking a seat at the table. Her eyes then rake up and down my body. "Nice top." She raises her eyebrows looking over my shirtless frame.

"I'll be back." I smile and rush back into the house and towards my bedroom, I grab one of my hoodies and put it on before making my way back to my precious girl.

I smile gently when I see her tucking into the fruit bowl and then taking a sip of the champagne.

I grab my chair and pull it right up next to her and take a seat. I wrap my arm around her shoulders and my body warms when she rests her body against me as we both look at the sunset in front of us.

I pull my phone out of pocket and open up the camera app. Lilah looks down at it with a small grin and then looks at me, I smile looking down and take the picture.

"Ollie." She grabs my phone and looks at the picture in disgust. "I look horrible." She goes to delete it but I snatch the phone back out of her hand.

"You look cute. Look." I point and she rolls her eyes.

"You're lucky I like you, Ollie." She pouts, poking my leg and I throw my head back in laughter.

"I've got an idea." I grin.
