I don't know why but I was giving Vincent the silent treatment.

"Eleanora!" He cried out when he saw me getting out of the room.

I know Vincent tried to defend me but he shouldn't have hid the matter from me. On top of that he blatantly lied about it.

I took some chicken casserole and some potato salad that Vincent cooked for lunch on a plate then I got inside my room before he could talk to me. I was pissed at him but I was definitely not skipping lunch as I was hungry and Vincent's chicken casseroles are the best.

I guess Vincent got back from the restaurant early today because he is usually not home at this hour. I was supposed to go to work but I was skipping it.

I locked the door behind me so that Vincent couldn't interrupt me. I will deal with Vincent later but firstly I needed to solve this matter.

I decided to draw up all the timeline of events that lead to the stealing. Vincent replaced the cameras last week that means the person would have taken the money at that time. But how? I clearly remember having the keys with me all the time since I have that attached to my purse.

But then Elijah decided to help me fix the cash register. He even asked me if I was keeping the money in the drawer. But if Elijah did take the money how did he do it? I don't even have enough evidence to prove him guilty. I had the keys with me all the time. I took out the keys from my purse and took a good look at.

Unless someone had a backup key to it.

The next day I decided to go to work. Every single staff was staring at me. This was making me anxious but I didn't care. I kept my head held high and walked towards my cash register. John gave me a furtive disapproving glance and went inside the kitchen.

"Nora you're back," She was sulking. She called me in the morning to ask me if I was going to work. She wasn't really happy with my answer."I thought I would skip a couple of days of work. You know to protest the unfair behaviour towards you."

I rolled my eyes. "I'm sorry," I said sardonically.

"I was kidding okay. I'm glad that you're back," she hugged me and I hugged her back. "Don't care what other people say. You are innocent and we're gonna prove that."

"Did you do what I told you to do?"

"Yup. Albert will get the tapes."

Albert is in charge of monitoring the cctv tapes. I could have easily asked Vincent about it but I wasn't ready to talk to him yet.

During lunch we went to the cctv monitoring room to look at the tapes.

"I submitted these to Vincent. But I got it back. I told him if I can rewatch the videos to find any clues."

"Did you find anything?"

"Nope. The only person who has been operating the drawer is you. This one time Elijah did come near the cash register after the cash register incident but it was just to talk to you."

"When did he try fixing the cash register?"

"The day they were installing the new cameras. So the cameras were not there."

I carefully watched the footage as Albert rewinded the day Elijah came over to talk to me. He was asking me if I got a change for a hundred dollar note. "Wait! Pause here!"

Albert immediately complied."Will this do?"

"Yes. Now replay it."

When I was looking down to get him the change he dropped my key on the table.

"Oh my god he just dropped the keys to the drawer on the counter," Lisa gasped.

"Exactly!" I cried out.

"But how did he take the keys in the first place?" Albert asked.

"Uhh I think I know," Lisa said. "Remember you lend me your diamond earrings? I tried to return it to you but you were busy so you just handed me your purse and told me to keep it inside it. We were outside at the sitting area and so I mistakenly dropped the purse and Elijah picked it up."

"Also look there is a blind spot behind the cash register. You can't see anything from here," Albert pointed out.

I thought I had it figured out but I still didn't have enough evidence to prove Elijah guilty. I could show them the CCTV footage but that wouldn't be enough. I didn't want John to raise anymore questions. The accusations were horrible and I didn't want to give him the benefit of doubt.

I decided to confront Elijah.

"Elijah."

"Hey Nora. What's up?"

"Uh as you can see I'm not doing that well."

"Oh I'm so sorry. I hope they forgive you for this."

"Excuse me? What?"

"I said- I hope they forgive."

"No you asshole I heard that. But are you trying to say that I stole the money?"

"Nora let's be honest you and I both know who stole the money."

"Yeah it's you, prick."

"What?" It was Elijah's turn to he shocked.

"Yup. You heard it right. You're the one who stole the money from the drawer when you pretended to try to fix the cash register."

"What the hell no?! Stop fucking lying to me."

"No I clearly remember I kept the drawer open and so you just sneakily took out the money."

"Don't try to blame me for something you did. That's such a cheap move. I honestly tried to fix the cash register that day. I had no intention of stealing your money then." I could see Elijah slowly losing it as his voice become shaky. You could tell that he was enraged by the wrong accusation.

"FUCK YOU ELIJAH. YOU ARE LYING TO ME DAMMIT," I raised my voice at him.

"NO I'M NOT! YOU'RE THE ONE WHO'S BEING UNREASONABLE!" He was screaming at me now as he has officially lost his calm.  He was obviously enraged now. All the staff were starting to gather around us. I can sense that any time someone would call Vincent or John as they were inside for a meeting.

"THEN HOW COME THE MONEY WASN'T THERE THE NEXT DAY?"

"I DON'T FUCKING KNOW!"

"OF COURSE YOU DO. BECAUSE YOU ARE THE ONE WHO TOOK IT OUT OF THE DRAWER."

"NO I DIDN'T BECAUSE I STOLE THE MONEY LATER WHEN NO ONE WAS HERE YOU BITCH."
