Hey guys! Sorry for neglecting you all, college has been a thorn in the butt. (In the words of one of my best friends) ANYWHORE, I have updated this version and the other version of this story. It would make me incredibly happy if you guys would at least go read the two chapters I have up. That's all I have for now. ONWARD!

Callum had given Adrian a month to "woo" me with his charms and so far it wasn't working. To be honest, he wasn't even trying. It had already been four days since those traitorous words tumbled from Callum's mouth and yet there still wasn't a sign of Adrian. I would be lying if I said his lack of presence didn't bother me. The first day I was relieved of course and thought he had finally decided to attend to his job for once, even if it was something illegal. The second day I began to grow uncomfortable with the eerie calmness about the station and Callum's obnoxious attitude didn't help either. The third day went just as well as the fourth, I was suspicious of Adrian setting a trap and kept my guard up at all times. I probably looked like the world's angriest person.

I pulled my car up to the station and threw it into park, sighing heavily. I vaguely wondered if today was going to be day number five of Adrian keeping his distance or was he finally going to break this weird cycle and go back to being a bird-brain. A loud exasperated groan escaped my lips as I hauled myself out of the car and up the station's steps. When I rounded the corner to head to my desk I was greeted by the awful sight of Callum. I frowned as I walked closer, studying his relaxed form.

"Well you look horrendous." He snapped his eyes open and looked at me as I set my stuff down.

"Good morning to you too, Twinkle Tits," he grumbled. I sat down and crossed my arms behind my head as I waited for Chief to arrive.

I jerked my chin towards Callum. "What happened to you?"

He was sporting an ugly black eye and a busted lip. He either got into a bar fight, settled some street fighting, or had a brawl with some chick's boyfriend.

He shrugged, "went to a club last night and met this pretty cool lady. We both thought of heading back to my place until her fiance showed up and tried going Donkey Kong on my ass."

I raised an eyebrow to that while glancing him over.

"If he wasn't Donkey Kong, then who was he?" Mike asked, perching himself on the corner of Callum's desk. Callum looked liked he was thinking about it seriously for a minute before he finally found an answer in that black abyss he called a mind.

"He was Diddy Kong," He smirked. Clearly this boy didn't look in the mirror before he left home today or he wouldn't have come in for work, or left the comfort of his room.

I leaned forward resting my arms on my desk. "Well looks like Diddy Kong can whoop some ass."

Callum shot me a glare as Mike laughed and walked away towards his desk where his own partner, Matt, was waiting for him. Callum sat there and continued to try to burn a hole through my head as I scrolled through the computer looking for any assignments that might have been over looked.

"Montes, Moser," Chief barked. Callum and I shot out of our seats. "My office."

We proceeded to follow him into his office and waited for him to shut the door. He motioned for us to sit and we did as told. He moved to the other side of his desk and shuffled through several folders, looking for the one he wanted. When he found the one he wanted he looked up and sat there silently. I didn't want to be the one to break the tense silence in the room and it didn't look like Callum was thinking anything different.

Chief suddenly spoke. "Son, what the hell happened to your face?"

I coughed to cover up a laugh and prayed Chief hadn't noticed. Callum on the other hand, sat there with his eyes wide.

"Uh," he replied intelligently. "I, um, had woman troubles last night sir."

Chief just huffed and grumbled something before opening the folder in his hands taking out two packets.

"There's been a request for you two to go a locate a person responsible for  a security breach within the house of a man named 'Van Benschoten'." Chief didn't seem to notice when my eyes practically popped out of my head.

"You two are to be undercover to the public but the majority of everyone inside the house is aware of your positions. This isn't going to be a walk in the park boys so stay sharp and stay safe."

With that, Callum and I grabbed the individual files that were handed to us and shook hands with Chief before stepping out of his office. Once outside, I groaned and ran my hand over my face. Staying away from Adrian just got a lot more complicated.
