Cecil was scrambling around in her room, she shooed away her personal maid that wanted to help her. In the end, she realised she was in a dilemma.

There were too many things to prepare.

From Xue’s words, she knew that they wouldn’t be returning to her home and Hana’s home anytime soon, until the danger had fully passed.

Moreover, they were probably going to be running for quite a while, and carrying luggages like that while running would be inconvenient.

She also knew the stuff that Hana would be preparing would be more than hers, adding on more to their burden.

Even if Xue was omnipotent, there was no possible way he could carry all the weight and protect them all if their foe proved to be too powerful.

“AI500!”

[ How may I be of service, Cecil Lan? ]

“Open the Points Shop."

[ Welcome to the Points Shop! New items have been added to the shop!
They may provide great assistance in your journey in this world! ]

“Enough with the introductions, just show me everything.”

[ Please select the category.

2. Potions

5. Weapons
6. Misc. ]

Cecil knew where the particular item she desired would be.

“Equipment, show me the available items for me to purchase.”

[ Knight Armor
Description: Armors made for knights! Unfortunately, it will only last two hits against heavy attacks before crumbling into pieces. Use it wisely!

Price: 28,000 points ]

“That’s it, use all my points to buy the storage ring!”

[ Please confirm if you want to make the purchase. ]

“Hold on...there is no punishment for having zero points right?”

[ Of course not~ ]

“Then yes, I will confirm the purchase.”

[ Storage Ring purchased!
Remaining points: 0 ]

[ The Points Shop will now close.
Thank you for your purchase!
Please open your right palm to receive your item~ ]

She did as the system instructed her, and the ring appeared on her right palm. It was a plain silver ring, and there was nothing distinctive about it.

[ Please note that this ring must be worn on your own hand for it to function.
It is bound to you after purchasing it, and it will not work if another person is wearing it. ]

“...”

Cecil inhaled deeply.

She had become accustomed to the system telling her essential information after completing something or buying something.

She took the ring, slowly sliding it onto her ring finger and the ring glowed slightly, a notification appearing in front of her.

[ Storage Ring activated. ]

[ There are no limitations to what you can store, and how much you want to store.
To deposit the items, simply put your hand with the ring on it over the item and mentally command the ring to store the item.
To withdraw the items, simply think of the item you desire and draw it out from your ring by giving it a twirl. ]

Cecil knew storage rings existed in this world, however, they were rare and especially one of unlimited space. No matter how hard she worked to earn those points, she knew she was still cheating in one way or another, and that would raise suspicions.

“AI500, how can I explain to them if I appeared with a storage ring of unlimited space all of a sudden?”

[ Depending on the novel world you are in, there are a few choices for you.
1. Family heirloom
2. You are rich beyond words
3. You encountered a worldly master and the person passed the ring to you
4. A powerful alchemist owes you a favour
Among the choices laid out, the first choice seems to be the best option for you~ ]

“Who the heck would believe such a lie?!”

[ The people in this world would~ ]

“...”

“Even if they would, you think my parents will play along with the lie if it gets exposed?!”

[ Cecil Lan’s parents adore her to bits.
They would do anything for their only daughter, and they wouldn’t dare make her upset. ]

“...”

The fact her parents spoiled and treasured her like no other was true, whether she was the previous occupant or Cecil Lan she is now.

“I am not using such a lie, no one would believe it anyway!”

Cecil ended the conversation with the system, placing everything into her storage ring as the objects seemingly disappeared into her thin air. However, she would receive a notification from the system if the item was successfully stored.

“It is a family heirloom.”

Hana gasped in amazement. “No wonder, I always knew family heirlooms are real treasures, but to think your family has a storage ring with unlimited space! That’s amazing!”

Cecil wanted to smack her palm on her face.

In the end, she used the lie on Hana, and Hana believed her in a heartbeat. Though, Cecil wasn’t surprised to know Hana believed a lie like that, since Hana was extremely naive.

Cecil finished storing all of Hana’s things in her storage ring, forcing a smile on her face as Hana continued to admire the plain, silver ring on Cecil’s finger.

The two ladies prepared to head off to find their parents to say their goodbyes, before finally meeting up with Xue in the living room. Knowing Hana, she would probably expose the ring as their family heirloom, but Cecil still wasn’t sure if the system was actually right about her parents playing along with her.

“Let’s go, Cecil! We gotta hurry!”

“Yes, of course.”

***

"It's your family heirloom!"

Cecil felt two more pairs of eyes on her, and she glanced away, wearing her usual haughty and indifferent mask. She already expected such a reaction from her parents.

"AI500, I told you it wouldn't work--"

"Why, yes it is!" Cecil's mother admitted, a pleasant smile on her face.

"Indeed." Cecil's father joined in with a nod.

"It was passed down from our ancestors…" her mother started to spill out a lie effortlessly, and Cecil's jaw almost dropped open.

Even her father was dropping in additional comments.

In the end, it worked out according to what the system had told her. Hana and her parents believed the lie completely, and they were now talking amongst themselves, mostly with Hana bracing herself to say her goodbyes.

[ It worked out well~ ]

"..."

[ I told you so~ ]

"..."

Cecil heard someone clearing their throat, and she turned to look.

"I am sure wherever you got that ring from," her mother raised her eyebrows. "You obtained it through your own hard work, didn't you?"

"Yes, mother." Cecil smiled.

By spending my hard-earned 28,000 points.

"You are setting off again?" Her father questioned.

"Yes, it is...an emergency, father." Cecil's smile dropped slightly.

If she could, she would stay here a while longer to spend more time with her parents. However, if she stays, she may endanger their lives.

"So soon?" Her mother was upset, stepping forward and hugging Cecil. "Alright, I can tell you are reluctant to leave but you have no other choice but to leave."

Her father stepped in as well, joining the hugging session. Cecil closed her eyes, relishing in the comforting hug.

"I will return when I can, and I still want to learn more dancing from you, mother."

Her mother chuckled.

"And I want to hear more about your stories about daily troubles in the trading business, father."

"A young woman like you shouldn't listen to ramblings of an old man."

"I like to listen to those ramblings."

Her father chuckled this time.

Cecil could hear Hana sniffling behind her, and she couldn't blame Hana for being emotional. Cecil wasn't sure when they would return to see their parents again, since both of them wanted to help Xue find his lost soul fragments and accompany him in the journey.

I am sure Xue wouldn’t mind if we took a while longer.

Cecil tightened her arms, hugging her parents even closer.

Xue sat on the couch in the living room, glancing from the door from time to time. Eventually, he gave up, standing up and wanting to exit the room to find the two ladies himself, until he felt a strange tugging sensation within his soul, beckoning him to look behind.

Kai: “Xue, I am sure you can sense it now.”

Zasiok: “Absorbing that idiot made your senses for locating your other fragments better.”

Alric: “It’s...it’s behind.”

Leonaut: “Doesn’t this feel a little different though?”

Kai: “It does.”

Xue glanced behind, seeing a white trail of mist appearing out from nowhere and suddenly, two figures were standing in the living room. Xue had seen enough of this action to know that it was something that all angels possessed, a fast travelling skill, its speed was dependent entirely on the user.

Within a glance, Xue could tell which person was the angel.

Just like he expected, the angel’s appearance matched the description Sid gave.

The man was tall, with short black hair and matching black eyes. His mien was like the average man, and there was nothing distinctive about his dressing either, with a simple shirt and pants. Moreover, there was a familiar symbol on his forehead as well, a snowflake-like symbol with a cursive design.

The man started to bow, addressing Xue with deference.

“So you really were here after all! Supre--”

“Take off that damn seal on your forehead, Mir,” Xue hissed, narrowing his eyes. “There is no point concealing your true form from me.”

The black-haired man did as Xue commanded, placing his hand over the symbol on his forehead and a second later, the appearance of the man changed drastically. His black hair grew past his shoulders, cascading down his back and his clothing changed into an ethereal white robe that covered his entire body fully.

His features changed as well, from an average human male to one would only describe as beautiful, despite the person being a male. The feature that completed his ethereal look was the pair of large, stark white wings sprouting out from his back, his appearance was almost blinding to an average human.

The red-haired man that had accompanied the angel stumbled back in shock, giving him a double look.

Mir waved his hand, summoning out a sword of exquisite design and he knelt down on the ground, clenching his fists together, still holding the sword in his hand.

“We have finally located you,” Mir said, the relief was evident in his voice. “And we are overwhelmed with joy, Supreme God--”

“Don’t call me that!” Xue barked, summoning out his spear and pointing it at Mir, his grey eyes blazed with anger. “That is a title, I will never pick up again, in my entire lifetime.”

Mir paused, his head still ducked down.

It was as if he did not dare to look Xue in the eyes.

“But you are the only one chosen by the heaven's judgement, the true descendant of the Supreme God,” Mir explained, sounding pained. “It’s only you that has the right to succeed the throne and lead us to a glorious age.”

“Not anymore, the next descendant will appear soon enough if I reject it.”

“If it is the matter of gathering your soul fragments, I assure you as the general of your army, the title you have bestowed upon me, I will gather your--”

Xue widened his eyes, swiping his spear angrily and Mir didn’t dodge the spear, a line of blood seen on his throat.

“General of my army?” Xue spat out bitterly, gritting his teeth. “The entire lot of you, including you, weren’t even there when I needed your assistance--no, all of you were there...you were all there, but you did nothing.

"We were--"

"Do you still remember the words you told me back then?”

Mir shot his head up, his eyes wide, his expression twisted with conflict. “I...I--I remember, but that was...Supreme God--”

The spear in Xue’s hands glowed in a bright blue, and Xue pressed the spear onto the wound on Mir’s neck.

“I said. Don’t call me that. Ever. Again.” Xue growled out. “The soul fragments are my own, and my own business.”

“We are willing to--”

“Ever since that day when I have been cast down from the heavens by Veau, I swore to have my revenge, and I swore to not be affiliated with the heavenly or demon realm any longer.”

Mir’s expression twisted even further, the beautiful features of his face were now spoiled by the pained, ugly expression.

“You want to deny your own origins?” Mir asked softly, finally keeping his wings.

The red-haired man was no longer distracted by the blinding wings.

“Origins? They were long dead.” Xue stated coldly, bringing his spear back as if he was disgusted to keep it pressed against Mir’s throat any longer. “Every single one of you betrayed me, disobeyed my commands, left my parents to die, and now, the two realms are in a never-ending war.”

“That is why we need you back--”

“Didn’t you hear me? I swore not to be affiliated with either realms.”

“The demons have kidnapped our families!” Mir burst out, his voice growing hoarse. “The demons are trying to lure out the remaining rebels, to drown us angels out!”

“It's nauseating.”

“Yes, exactly! The demons are disgusting--”

“No, both demons and angels disgusts me, everything about the two realms disgusts me,” Xue interrupted Mir. “All of you can continue killing each other, or even die, I won’t bother and neither will I care.”

Mir observed the glacial look on Xue’s face.

The words he spoke and his tone, he had truly cast everything aside except for himself.

Mir collapsed onto the floor, shaking his head.

It’s all over.

We are all doomed, we will never be able to get the Supreme God back on our side.

We brought upon our own demise.

Mir suddenly felt someone tapping him on the shoulder, and he glanced up to the red-haired man beside him.

“So this is where your other plan comes into play?”

Xue glanced at the red-haired man, which bore a striking resemblance to him. Without a doubt, it was another soul fragment of his, even the alters inside his head were screaming at him that it was another soul fragment.

However, like they said as well, there was something different about this soul fragment.

Xue didn’t like whatever “different” feeling he felt from this soul fragment of his.

“...yes, the only other plan I have where you play a big part in it,” Mir nodded his head, standing up and facing Xue, his beautiful face awfully pale. “If-if it’s like this, you leave me with no other choice, Supreme--”

Xue stormed towards the red-haired man, bringing out his hand and showing his palm, bringing out a red marble. He disregarded Mir, pretending as if he was invisible to his eyes, he was only focused on absorbing the soul of the red-haired man.

To his surprise, Xue watched as the red marble in his hands started to grow larger and wider, but it still remained circular in shape. Moreover, the glow of the red orb in his hands was brighter than any other marble he had seen when he was absorbing the other fragments.

He raised his eyebrows, lifting his head up to look at the red-haired man that looked identical to him. Even the man’s eyes were red, exactly matching the scarlet red of his hair.

Possessing the handsome appearance of Xue, with scarlet red hair and eyes, the man himself almost seemed like another devil compared to Veau.

“Ah, I actually have it too."

The red-haired man whipped out his own red marble, and Xue widened his eyes in disbelief.

“I absorbed some souls of my own too, like...six of them?”

“You…”

“Hey now, don’t call me that, I have a name too,” the man smirked devilishly, his scarlet red eyes narrowing. “You should remember my name well.”

Xue glared at Isleif, finally understanding why he felt uneasy about this soul fragment.

“The name’s Isleif,” he said, his smirk growing wider. “I am the soul fragment that will absorb you, and become the main host of the body instead.”

Pt. 1

《 start 》

Helped you once.

All of you said you owed me a favour.

Helped you twice.

All of you said you would not betray me.

In the end, I never expected anything like a favour, I never wanted anything.

Yet, in the end, every single one of you repaid your favour with betrayal.

Angels, demons.

All of you disgust me.

Whether either of you die, live or kill, that is no longer my concern.

I no longer want to care.

No matter the reason for your betrayal...all of you caused the death of my parents.

All of you let Hana fall into Veau's hands and made him erase her memories, and made her fall into the mortal world, with her powers completely sealed.

All of you betrayed and left me to accept this miserable fate of mine.

No matter your reason for everything...

I truly do not care anymore.

Pt. 2

《 start 》

Weaken him by using Hana.

Simple enough.

That will allow me to absorb him, and I will finally become the main host.

The main soul.

After that, killing all angels and demons would be an easy feat.

No...maybe I will not kill them, conquering them seems to better.

Conquering the two realms, and the mortal realm.

A suitable position for me, the true descendant of the Supreme God.

Not Xue, but me, Isleif.
