Shuffling closer to Hana, Cecil was relieved Hana had actually sat on the inside. It was easier for Cecil to protect her this way.

"We meet again, Hana."

The three of them observed the brown-haired young man dressed in a formal nondescript suit, his brown eyes focused solely on Hana.

"Mr. Erik! It is good to see you again, I hope you are doing fine?"

"Yes, no thanks to you, Hana."

Observing the young man before her with an icy-cold stare, Cecil, for once, wanted to commend the author.

The young man before her, though he was dressed in a dashing manner, his face was regrettably...unappealing.

If Cecil were to be mean, she would outright say he is ugly.

However, the heroine of this novel is a perfect, beautiful airhead. She doesn't care about the appearance or personality of anyone, she likes everyone that she meets.

There was only handsome and beautiful in her dictionary, never ugly.

Cecil couldn't find it in her to describe the man before her, without using any withering words.

"Would you mind accompanying me outside for a private conversation, Hana?"

Xue had been eyeing the man with a suspicious look, and he stiffened when he heard those words.

"Of course!" Hana agreed cheerily, standing up and Xue's eyes went wide.

He reached forward to press down on Hana's hand, to stop her. Cecil made the move first, a cold smile playing on her lips.

"Mr. Erik, bringing our Hana away while she's still enjoying her warm meal, wouldn't you agree that is rude of you?" Cecil pushed her plate forward, resting her arms on the mahogany table.

Finally, Erik decided to bestow his grace upon Cecil and Xue. His soft expression from earlier became disdainful as he eyed the two strangers.

Cecil raised her eyebrows, the author was once again, right.

Erik's arrogance was comparable to Cecil's level of arrogance. It was written all over his face, and in her heart, Cecil smiled impishly.

Wanna compare who is more arrogant, Mr. Erik?

"Miss Lan, my apologies. If Hana herself doesn't mind, I don't think Miss Lan should mind either."

Cecil harrumphed, leaning back into the seat. "Hana doesn't control what I feel, and I do mind, a lot. You are taking away my company for my meal."

"Alright Cecil, I understand. I will accompany you first." Hana beamed, patting Cecil's hand and sitting down. "Sorry, Mr. Erik, I will talk to you after this meal."

Erik seemed reluctant, narrowing his eyes at Cecil and Cecil disregarded him, smiling at Hana.

"Hana, it is a rather urgent and private conversation."

"Uhmm...I suppose a minute will do, I'll be right back, Cecil."

Hana made a move yet again and Xue prepared to move as well. However, Cecil remained still, not moving aside for Hana.

Hana couldn't possibly climb over Cecil, thus, she was trapped.

"Cecil?"

"Yes?"

"Would you...move aside?"

Cecil raised her chin, defiant. "No, you are the one that wants to move. Not me, why should I move for you?"

"..."

"..."

"..."

"I, Cecil Lan, won't move even if my parents are ordering me to," Cecil added on. "Climb over me if you really want to talk to him, Hana."

The three of them were speechless.

Hehehe! How's that? This was how the original Cecil Lan was actually like! She can be even worse, till the point where you could just collapse from anger!

Cecil smirked inwardly as she glanced coldly at Erik. It seem like he has reached his limit, gritting his teeth and shooting his hand forward to grab Cecil.

"Move aside, Miss Lan."

Cecil glared at Erik, snatching her wrist back. "How dare you touch me!"

This disgusting molester! He just touched me with the hand he was planning to use to molest Hana!

Cecil recalled the events from the novel, the author describing the scene where Hana was molested, making her hair stand.

She felt sick to the stomach.

Erik's face turned red with anger, and he has never been this humiliated before. He grabbed at Cecil's hand with a tight grip this time.

Hana gasped, horrified.

"Now listen here, you arrogant bitch, you better move or I will--"

Cecil visibly winced from the pain, and her other hand reached down to her ankle, flipping her dress up as she had a small hidden pouch attached to her right, lower calf. She took the small rock inside the pouch as Erik spoke, she wanted to close her eyes to enter the realm until she felt the force around her wrist leaving her.

Erik yelped out in pain, and Cecil blinked twice, looking at Xue who twisted Erik's arm, his grey eyes blazing with anger.

By now, the commotion has attracted many curious glances.

...the...the great lord protagonist helped me.

Xue helped me!

Cecil forgot about her disgust, her eyes lighting up in glee.

"Hands off, bastard. I'll break your arm."

Cecil felt as if she has been doused with a bucket of cold water.

[ Warning! Villain "Erik Flint" is setting his sights on protagonist "Xue"!
Failure of this third mission will result in a negative 20 points. ]

"Shit!"

Cecil cursed out to AI500 and closing her eyes and gathering the elemental energy within her. She flipped the stone upwards and immediately flicked it towards Erik.

...but Cecil forgot one thing.

I can't control it properly! This is my first time doing this!

The rock flew, like Cecil commanded but instead of Erik, it was hurled straight at Xue.

Cecil paled.

Erik narrowed his eyes at Xue, opening his mouth to speak.

Xue noticed something from the corner of his eyes, widening his eyes in surprise when it was a flying rock.

Cecil wanted to cry.

The first person to damage the precious puppy...will be me...

The so-called loyal second lead...

Am I destined to be a cannon fodder villain?

Just then, the rock aiming straight for Xue halted...and made an incredible curve, hitting Erik right in the forehead.

"You--agh!"

The force made Erik shut his eyes in pain, and he even stumbled backwars. A waiter miraculously appeared behind him, carrying a tray of deserts that were huge glass cups.

Erik slammed right into the waiter, and the waiter somehow decided it was better to catch Erik, throwing the tray into the air. Cecil watched as the tray flew, along with the huge cups of glasses holding the deserts.

"Sire, are you okay?!"

"Ugh...let go of--"

One of the cup landed hard on Erik's head.

The guests were screaming and shouting in horror, avoiding the deserts like they were bombs. The huge cups of glasses landed on the ground, breaking into dozens of pieces with a piercing sound.

Cecil glanced back at Erik, realising that the impact knocked him out completely.

...behold the powers of the protagonist's plot armour. All hail the great lord protagonist.

"Sire? Sire! Oh my god, you are bleeding! We need medical help immediately!"

"Someone's injured!"

"A fight, it's definitely a fight!"

"I'm getting out of here."

"Wahhh, mummy! The desert spilled all over me!"

"It's all over me too!"

"Hmph! What a disaster!"

The panicked and angry guests rushed out of the restaurant and a group of waiters hurriedly escorted the unconscious Erik Flint away.

Just like that, the entire event ended and Cecil who has expected more, was flabbergasted.

"..."

"..."

"..."

"...uhm, should we...go check on Erik...?" Hana's concerned voice broke Cecil and Xue from their stunned state.

"No."

"Definitely not."

Cecil glanced down at the ground, seeing the small rock that Kai gave her and she surreptitiously slipped her feet out, kicking it towards her.

All hail the great lord protagonist's rock. It has enacted its revenge for the master.

Cecil continued pouring out her reverence for Xue in her heart, swearing to herself that she would stick by his side no matter what.

"Nothing can spoil my day today. For I have seen the true powers of the protagonist's halo, it's too terrifying."

[ That is true~ ]

The three of them left the restaurant quietly and Cecil kept the rock inside her hidden pouch.

It was said that once the Mr. Erik awoke, his memories were hazy and he has forgotten all about the incident.

Cecil was speechless at the fearsome power of the protagonist.

***

Back at her usual training ground, Cecil was determined to master the controls of hurling, tossing and throwing the rock.

...as much as she would like to abuse the protagonist's godly plot armour, her heart could not bear throwing rocks at her precious puppy.

"You are practicing how to throw rocks now?" Kai interrupted Cecil's training and she paused, looking up.

Kai joined her, sitting down beside her.

"Kai, you are here again today." she stated plainly.

"Because of you--"

"Shh. You are disturbing me." Cecil interjected, giving the rock a light toss to the left.

...it went straight without stopping and she halted it quickly, clenching her fist.

"You even learned how to stop the movements on your own?"

Cecil nodded. "I almost hurt someone...special to me today. I was anxious to learn quicker, and before I knew it, I had already learned to stop it."

"...special?" Kai lowered his voice, not sounding happy at all.

Cecil lifted her head up, remembering that Kai was still infatuated with her.

Why does he still like me?! Maybe I shouldn't have kissed him on the cheek...

...but I didn't want to miss out on the chance for such an important moment for a fangirl.

I should have just asked to change it to a hug...would that be better?

Cecil sighed, "It is my precious puppy."

Kai perked up, and Cecil resumed her training. She wanted to flick yet again but Kai stopped her.

"It's not your physical strength, it is dependent on the amount of energy you are imbuing into the rock."

"Yes, I've noticed that, but it is rather difficult to control that aspect."

"Image training?"

Cecil shook her head, she tried following the same theory as always, looking it from the author's viewpoint.

Alas, it didn't work.

"How do you control the intensity of your flames?" Cecil inquired.

Kai grinned, opening up his palm and a tiny orange flame hovered above. He opened his mouth to explain and paused, his grin fading slightly.

"...you really want to train to be better?"

Cecil nodded.

Kai's eyes lit up, seemingly hopeful. "Then, enroll in the Eagle Academy. They will guide you properly."

Cecil hesitated, not answering to his words.

"AI500, please remind me of the time limit for the secret mission."

[ Time limit : 53 days
7 days has passed since you have received the mission. ]

Cecil looked down, tomorrow would be another momentous day.

It would also be the day returns to the school, his school trip has officially ended.

Cecil brought her head up, noting Kai's solemn expression. His grin was completely gone now.

This big, adorable dog...he seems really attached to me.

I'll definitely be enrolling in the school along with the great lord protagonist, but Hana...

In the novel, Hana doesn't enroll in the school and neither does she possess any fighting prowess. Hana only sends Xue off to the school, and that was where Kai made his first appearance.

...and then somehow Hana was dragged into the school due to the conflict with Erik and Xue. Following subsequent events, Hana made it possible for Xue to combine with his first soul fragment, Kai.

However, because of that, it led to many unfortunate and tragic events. The aftermath of that combination only made Xue more miserable!

His only comfort was Hana.

Alas, now that Cecil Lan was an anomaly in the story...and Kai had become infatuated with her, Cecil wasn't sure how the plot would flow now.

Her only goal in enrolling into the school was to prevent the aftermath that will torment Xue in the future!

However, will her enrollment in the academy change the plot even further? It was hard to tell, and she could even make things worse.

Cecil was uncertain.

"So, Cecil...will you enroll?"

She hesitated for a while more.

"Wherever the river flows, the water shall follow." Cecil responded cryptically, showing Kai an enigmatic smile.

That man gives off a wicked aura.

Insisting on getting Hana into a private conversation, it seems that the woman sensed his vile intentions too.

When he grabbed that weird woman for the second time, and it hurt her, I hit my limit.

He even called her an "arrogant bitch". She is arrogant, but she isn't a bitch.

If he touched that woman again, I'll break his arm.

If he touched Hana, I'll chop his fingers off.
