Tracy

Lies, My life have always been a lie, since I moved in with my grandma, or let's say, since she forced me to stay with her. I got the shock of my life, when I flew back to San Jose, hoping everything was okay, only to find out my grandma wanted me to come back all of a sudden and her way was to lie.

"This is not okay." I fumed. "I thought you, I almost thought." I was lost and confused by the situation.

She sat on the couch very gracefully, her eyes showing concerned and I wanted to scoffed at how ridiculous the situation is. I texted Carson about me flying back to San Jose, but there is no reply from him yet- which means he is asleep.

"Tracy." My grandma said, with her soft voice.

"No." I said, shaking my head. "You have gone way too far."

"You too ran away from home. Don't you think that went too far?" She said, making me feel guilty.

"I am an adult now." I pointed out. "I can make my own decision."

"Adult." She laughed, "You are a spoil brats."

And I felt sick hearing her words,

"You are nothing, but a spoil brat. I give you the world and this is how you treat me back? Running away? I had to lie to my friends and Liam and his family that you went to San Francisco for a study research."

"Are you being serious?" I asked. Liam and his family. I should have known the reason she had called me back. Liam's parent is nice, they are always warm and welcoming, but Liam is not someone who I would like to spend my time with because I don't want to give him hope.

My grandma have a crazy obsession with him since he found out he liked me and I was not having it. She may think, the reason I don't like Liam is because I want to go against her.

"I am so disappointed with you." She said.

I laughed at her words, "You hear yourself? You sound ridiculous now."

"Where did your manners go now?"

"Forget about manners." I said giving her a look, "Forget about everything else. This." I said looking at the fancy place called home. "It means nothing when your loved one is not at home. You think money is everything? You are wrong." I snapped.

I see a sudden emotion in her eyes and as quick it came, it was gone and she scowled at me. "Go to your room." She snapped.

"What is wrong with you?" I asked. "You were fine with me studying there? I was coming home for study break? What went wrong?"

She did not answer that question but instead said. "Go back to your room."

"No." I said, shaking my head. "I am going back to San Francisco."

"For that guy?" She snapped. "You are breaking all contact with that guy."

"You have no rights to say that." I said, angry now.

"Although he comes from a good family, he have a very bad reputation and our family always stay away from bad people."

"Carson is not bad. You don't even know him." I defended.

"I know him well enough to say that. You are breaking all contacts with him." She said glaring at me.

"I will not and I am leaving right now." I said as I moved quickly for the door, until I see two men stood in front of me, both giving me a tight apologetic look.

I turned to my grandma, "You have one chance to make it right." I warned. "You took away my parents from me."

"I didn't." She said. "They willingly give you to me."

And that was a splash of cold water hitting me on my face.

"What?" I asked, surprised by the truth.

"They know they were incapable of bringing you up, so they came to me for help."

"You are lying." I said.

She did not say anything. "You are staying here."

"Then why are you not telling me about my parents?"

"They told me not to." Every sentences from her mouth was making me sick.

"No." I said shaking my head, it have to be a lie. This is all a lie.

"End of discussion. I will be withdrawing you from that university and you will enroll in one of the school, here."

"Under your watch? No way." I said.

"You better listen to what I say." She warned.

"Or what? You want to kick me out? Sure. Go ahead."

She glared at me. "You are testing my patience."

"And you, grandma- you are testing my limit."

"You." She said looking at me with a challenge look. "You are grounded." And there was a silent after that.

"I am an adult now, if you forgot." I pointed out. "You have no rights over me now."

She smirked, "Are you sure about that? As far as I know, you are the heir to the family and I have rights of you."

"You should hear yourself speaking."

She looked at me and looked at the guard, "make sure she do not get out of the house and most importantly make sure that she cannot contact that guy or any of her friends. Block her phone contact and hire the women security for her; she will not contact anyone or go out; whatsoever."

And like that, my phone was snatched away from me and was forced back to my so-called room. I sobbed silently in my room and thought of all those times- I hid from grandma and all those time when I wished things would be different and wished that I could change my future; which is why I ran to San Francisco, with the help of someone I paid to help me run away from a place that look so beautiful from outside, but inside it is like trash.

How I wished Carson was with me that day and how I wished I went with them, that day as I sobbed all-alone in the dark room wishing someone would save me; or wishing I could save myself.
