Izuku had a pretty good life, living with his father in America. They might have been a little short on money (or so he thinks ;), but he has great friends and family, and his life planned out. But when he doesn't get into American School for Heroes as planned, he has to move to Japan to go to UA , which isn't half as prestigious as ASH, if he has any hopes of becoming a hero. When life takes a turn for the worse there too, he's convinced he has bad luck.
