Well this little piece started off as a comic about when Vax and Vex were taken from their mother, that I'd had rolling around in my head for a while. But I'm a crappy artist, don't have the patience to re-draw the same faces again and again, and it basically turned out as stick figures...so that idea was scrapped...my second attempt was a short story, and instantly the inspiration clicked, like the story was writing itself.
