Annie has always had a passion for writing, ever since reading her first book her dream was to complete and publish her own. The only problem is that no one supports her decision, while her mum doesn't care what she does her dad is convinced that Annie can do better than being a lousy bookwriter, and her long time best friend Brianna thinks that both writing and reading is lame. Annie's book, The Fractured Night, was rejected by publisher after publisher and she was mocked for her failed attempts. Eventually she gave up trying to get her book published but continued to write books. Inside the note is a chapter from a book that the serial killer is writing called Difficult Dreams.
