Let me know what y'all think! I'm a bit nervous about this update, but also super excited. :D hopefully it isn't horrible. lol

Ely:

I trailed after Jordan and smiled at the soothing sounds of the fountain situated at the back of the plaza. Jordan headed in the opposite direction of the fountain and I followed him silently across the street and to a three story building that looked like it had seen better days. Jordan glanced at me before quickly glancing through the doorway. "Let's check out the building from the floor up. Stay close."

I simply nodded and after we stepped through the doorway, I quickly palmed a knife in each hand, just in case. I saw as Jordan discreetly pulled out a sai for each hand. The metal of his small, three pronged weapon glinted in the poor lighting.

The building looked to be an apartment building, but we didn't see anyone as we finished searching the bottom floor and took the stairs up to the next floor. Jordan sighed, "Although this building doesn't look fit to live in, it looks like we're going to have to figure out which apartments we're going to need to gain access to."

I nodded in agreement and asked, "Can we check out the roof first?" He nodded as we headed up the third flight of stairs and he draped his arm over my shoulders. I know I should be used to their touch by now, but I was so startled by it, I tripped going up the stairs. Jordan chuckled softly as his arm tightened around my shoulders and he seemed to have an easy time keeping me upright.

"Careful, Sunshine. These stairs are treacherous enough as it is." He murmured in my ear, causing me to shiver. The stairway was even darker than the rest of the building, with sporadically placed lightbulbs that flickered. I was afraid that at any moment they'd flicker off and wouldn't turn back on, and given Jordan's dislike of the dark, I was afraid of how he'd react if that did happen.

He led me the rest of the way up the stairs without incident and we reached the roof. I fanned myself with my hand as we stepped out of the creepy stairwell. Now that we were out of there, I dreaded having to go back down that way.

The roof was mostly flat, with just the stairwell walls sticking up. The edge of the roof had a ledge that was about waist high running all the way around it, but there was nothing else up here.

We went to the edge of the roof, facing the plaza, and Jordan pulled a pair of binoculars out of his bag. He ran one hand through his dark curls as he used his other hand to hold the binoculars to his eyes. "It would be easy for someone to set stuff up right here to harm someone in the plaza... which means it would probably be just as easy to use one of the apartments directly below us..." He trailed off and even without the binoculars, I could tell what he meant.

Jordan put his binoculars down and put a finger to his lips, signaling to me not to make a sound. A few heartbeats later and I could hear someone coming as well. Part of our mission included not standing out, and I'm pretty sure that being the only two people on the roof would be suspicious.

The footsteps stopped for a moment and I looked up at Jordan, my eyes were huge. Jordan scanned the surroundings really quickly and then pulled me towards the stairwell. I grimaced at the thought of going back inside, but instead of pulling me through the doorway, he gently pushed me against the outer wall of the stairwell.

The footsteps resumed and Jordan pushed me against the wall, using his body as a shield. The door at the top of the stairs slammed outward, making the wall we were leaning against shake. Just as a pair of shoes started to round the corner, Jordan suddenly ducked his head down. His body pushed me harder against the wall and I felt a jolt run through my body as his lips brushed against mine.

My eyes were huge, and I wasn't really sure what Jordan expected me to do in return. Should I kiss him back? I wasn't even sure I knew HOW to kiss him back. Did I even want to kiss him back? He took the decision out of my hands when his soft lips nuzzled against my neck, kissing and sucking gently against my skin. I swallowed hard, but before I could react, I heard the footsteps again. My breathing sounded loud to my ears, and I was afraid everyone else would hear the pounding of my heart as well.

"Hey! What are you doing up here?" A masculine voice asked. A quick glance showed a heavyset, short man in what appeared to be a security guard's uniform at one point.

Jordan's kiss must have short circuited my brain, because I suddenly found myself wishing to feel his lips against mine again. Jordan didn't move, which kept both of our faces hidden, but I felt his entire body tense.

Jordan:

I admit, I hadn't planned our next move, but God, I wanted to kiss her again. I huffed slightly when I glanced at her face. She looked dazed, and I huffed again, trying not to let my amusement show. I was just thankful that she hadn't slapped me.

She made a soft mewling noise that lit my body on fire and made me want to kiss her even more. And then the security guard found us and I sighed with regret. "We were just leaving." I muttered to the portly security guard. I pulled Ely with me to the stairwell and quickly pushed her inside. Once we were both safely inside the building, the heavy door slammed shut behind us, making me even more suspicious of the so called security guard. I didn't want to discuss my suspicions here, though. I'd just wait until we got back to Shawn and Dom.

"Jo...?" She asked softly, glancing back at me.

"Shhh." I shushed her gently and gestured for her to keep moving. I didn't want to be stuck in these fucking stairs when that shitty light finally gave out. I practically shoved her through the building, cringing when we ran past an open doorway. A young woman was screaming her head off from inside and I pushed for Ely to move faster. We finally got outside and I found myself mumbling, "For God's sake, I seriously thought that entire building was going to collapse on us."

Ely shuddered as she agreed. "I think I even saw a rat or two on the way back down."

I chuckled softly, and when I glanced down at her, her gray-blue eyes were watching me with anticipation. "Fuck." I muttered, mostly to myself. I couldn't seem to stop myself, I gently used my body to push her smaller body against the dilapidated brick building and lowered my head. "Tell me to stop now, Sunshine, or I'm kissing the shit out of you." I whispered against her ear.

Her beautiful eyes widened even further and she whispered, "Is it bad if I don't want you to stop?"

I shook my head slightly and lowered my head even more. I tilted her head back gently and lightly touched my lips to hers. At first, she didn't seem to respond, but when I started to deepen the kiss, she responded, kissing me back.

I dropped my hands to her waist, lightly caressing her hip bones. I lightly licked the seam of her lips, causing her to open up to me. I touched the tip of my tongue to hers slowly. I didn't want to startle her. She made a small noise at the back of her throat and I gripped her hips a little tighter as I deepened the kiss even more. As much as I wanted to pull her hips against me, I didn't want to scare her with my arousal. Fuck, she made me so hot.

Ely pulled back slightly, "Jo? I think your phone is going off." She murmured against my lips. I wanted to kiss her again and possibly never stop. Just before I touched my lips to hers again, her words registered.

"Shit." I muttered, quickly fishing my phone out of my pocket. "Yeah?" I asked. My voice sounded a little gravely to my own ears and I cleared my throat, hoping that Shawn didn't notice from the other side of the phone.
