Teddy hid inside of the closet as the sounds of arguing erupted from the hallway outside as his Father, Daren and His mother Mary fought outside of the hallway closet where Teddy now hid inside. It was good Friday and Teddy was looking forward to Easter. That is until his dad found out that his Wife had been cheating on him with her coworker.

Teddy sat inside the closet in the fetal position. his hands over his ears as the argument outside escalated. then he heard a gun shot, Teddy let out a cry of fear. Then he heard another shot ring out and a second body hit the floor. He was too afraid to come out of the closet.

This happened back in 1998 in late May. Police came to the Smiths house after Teddy hadn't shown up to school for a the past 2 days. Neighbours had also become worried when they hadn't heard or seen the Smith family come out of their house since Friday night.

After repeated attempts by the police to contact the Smith Family, the police broke down their front door and were instantly hit by the smell of decaying bodies and dried blood. They said that they found the mother and father both shot in the head. With a gun in the husbands hand. They ruled the deaths a murder suicide.

Police could never find the body of Teddy. When they searched the closet across from the bodies, they found nothing other than a chocolate 1 foot tall Easter bunny.

Police issued an amber alert for Teddy. To this very day, they had never found Teddy.

January 21st 2018

Ricky ran into his new house. His parents following closely behind him, they had a few suitcases with them, but the moving truck wasn't due to arrive until tomorrow. The air felt thick inside of the house. The house had been sitting empty for the past 20 years.

Mike and Anne took a chance with the house. They knew why the house had been vacant for so long, but with the price they had paid for it. They took a chance. From the way Ricky ran around the house, they knew that he loved it.

the house needed a lot of work to be done, but over the next month, Mike and Anne had the house looking livable once again.

Ricky Was left to play off by himself for most of the time. He hadn't developed much friends at his new elementary school, but that all changed one day in February.

When I (Mike) was just finishing up cleaning up the dishes from our meal, Anne got a call from one of her clients and had to go into work to deal with it. So that just left my alone to take care of Ricky. I turned off the tap to the sink and heard Ricky's voice echoing from upstairs.

I turned my head towards the stairs and called out

Mike: Ricky, are you ok?

I waited for an answer, but didn't get a response back. I started to get nervous now. I could still hear my son talking. As I reached the bottom of the stairs I froze, my hand rested on the railing. when Mike stopped talking I could have sworn I heard another male voice talking back.

Mike: Ricky? who are you talking to?

Suddenly the other voice I had been hearing stopped. I grabbed the railing and ascended the steps and turned the corner. I stopped abruptly and almost fell over Ricky who was sitting on the floor of the hallway, staring at an open closet door. I turned around and looked inside the closet. It seemed to emanate a darkness. As I continued to peer into it, the darkness seemed to fade away, leaving only the interior of the closet.

I crouched down and looked Ricky in the eyes.

Mike: Who was that Ricky?

Ricky: Oh it's just my new friend... Teddy

I froze when the name left his mouth. I knew that name, the realtor had told my wife and I the story about how a husband had killed his wife where Ricky now sat and how they had never found the boy.

I grabbed the closet door and slammed it shut.

Mike: Stay away from this closet. I don't want to see you talking to teddy again you understand?

I said it in a tough voice. One that I had never used with Ricky before. I regretted what I had said the moment I said them. Ricky started to cry and I picked him up and into my arms. I carried him down the hallway and into his room. after I laid him on his bed, I said.

Mike: I'm sorry Ricky, I didn't mean to get angry at you. You must promise me that you won't go in that closet again.

Ricky sniffled and only nodded his head.

for the next month there had been no more incidents. I put a lock on the closet door, and ended up never putting anything inside of the closet. I noticed that my wife had been spending more and more time at the office, often coming home at wee hours of the morning. My wife and I having more arguments about me never seeing her a lot.

On those nights I caught a whiff of some mans cologne these nights were the worst, when she got home, I would be up waiting for her and we would get into heated arguments.

Ricky would hide in his room during these times, and as Easter came nearer, the arguments got worse. everything came to a head when good Friday came along. Anne didn't come back home the previous night. I didn't see her at all until she came home at 4pm.

I decided to distract myself by stashing eggs around the house the night before. Since Good Friday was a holiday, I had the day off and Ricky didn't have school. I knew that Anne also had the day off. She told me the day before that there was a project she had been working on that was due on Monday. I knew the real reason why she wasn't here right now, It was because she was with Ron. If I ever met Ron, I would probably kill him.

So Ricky spent the entire day roaming around the house looking for eggs. by the time 4pm rolled around, Ricky had a full basket of eggs, and I was getting dinner ready. Ricky was upstairs and counting his eggs.

That was when I heard the front door open. It was Anne. She staggered through the door. Drunk. She was drunk! Her eyes were hazy and as the door closed behind her, he saw a car pull away from the front of their house.

My eyes filled with rage as she ignored me and started heading up the stairs.

Mike: where do you think you are going ANNE!

The last words that came out of my mouth had venom in them.

Anne continued heading up the stairs. She didn't turn around as she said

Anne: we just finished closing the deal with the client, we were up all night setting it up. I just got back from celebrating the deal going through.

I ran up the stairs just as Anne reached the top landing.

Mike: Bullshit Anne. You spent the entire night with Ron once again. I smell his cologne all over you. I have had enough of your lies.

She turned around and finally faced me. We were stopped in the hallway in front of the closet. My hand trembled at my side as Anne and I argued. The coldness of the glock pressing against the small of my back.

Anne: i'm too tired to argue with you tonight Mike. How many times do I have to tell you that I am not sleeping with Ron! We are just co-workers!

She turned around and started to head to the bedroom. I reached behind me and pulled out the gun pointing it at her head.

Mike: You have lied to me the last time Anne!

I thought that I could hear sobbing coming from the closet behind me. I pulled the barrell back, it making a click sound. Anne whipped around and her eyes widened.

Anne: whoa Mike. What are you doing! Where did you get that gun.

My hand shook as my finger hovered over the trigger. She opened her mouth to say something. But a power came over me and compelled me to pull the trigger.

A bang echoed through the house and Anne's head flew back. Blood spraying the hallway behind her. My eyes opened wide as I saw what I had done. I... I din't mean to shot her... but it felt like I was compelled to shoot her.

Misery fell over me and I needed to find Ricky. The fog in my head that had been there since we had moved into the house in January lifted a bit. I needed to get my son and get out of here. I looked over at the closet and saw that it was slightly ajar. I grabbed the door handle and opened the door more. Ricky stared at me and was cowering in the corner. He held a 1 foot tall chocolate Easter bunny

I reached out for him and was about to grab him when I heard a growl from behind me. I turned around and saw an evil ghostly figure standing in front of me. I backed up only to realize that it was the stairs behind me. I felt ghostly hands push me and my arms flailed as I lost my balance and fell down the steps. I came crashing down the steps. When I hit the bottom my head hit the wall and I lost consciousness.

I just woke up yesterday and found myself in the hospital with my leg in a cast and a bump on my head. I tried to get up, but my arms were handcuffed to the bed.

A neighbour had called the police when they heard the gun shot. When they arrived, they found me on the bottom landing. When they went upstairs, they found my wife face down in a pool of her blood. When they looked in the closet, all they found were 2, 1 foot tall Easter bunnies, with no sight of Ricky. There was a note left between the two chocolate bunnies.

Rikki doesn't deserve to have parents like you. I will take care of them instead.

Signed

The Easter Bunny

I am going to go to jail once my leg is healed. I just hope that Ricky is ok, where ever he is.
