*BACK TO THE PREVIOUS DAY*

"That is complete bullshit," Alison yelled. "I'd rather you break down and tell me that you hated me, at least there'd be some passion in it."

Lawrence was collecting his things ready to go to work, trying to brush her off. "We can talk about this later, okay?" He leant in to kiss her, but she turned her head away.

"Just leave," she said firmly.

Lawrence stared at her for a moment, then turned around and headed out the door.

Meanwhile, up in Diana's room, she still couldn't sleep as she still thought there was a man in her room. And she thought right. The face of a man appeared from her closet, and whispered softly: "Good night, little girl."

The closet door burst open and Diana screamed.

"Diana?" Alison said from downstairs, rushing up the stairs and into Diana's room. She opened the door and turned on the lights. A man covered with a huge black cloak was by Diana's bedside. He grabbed Diana as she screamed, and Alison ran over to them.

The man was none other than Zep, the orderly from the hospital where Lawrence's worked.

*BACK TO THE PRESENT*

At the same time Lawrence and Adam were trapped in the bathroom, Zep had Diana and Alison gagged and bound to the bedpost in Alison and Lawrence's room. He now had a stethoscope and a gun. Diana and Alison were screaming with fear. He placed the stethoscope on Diana's chest as her screams grew even louder, then moved the gun up and down in front of her face. Her heartbeat doubled in speed.

"Keep your motherfucking hands off my daughter!" Alison yelled through her gag, her eyes streaming with tears. Zep pulled away the stethoscope. He placed Diana's teddy bear beside her and patted her on the head. He then stood up and walked over to the window. He pulled back the curtains and peered out the window.

In the apartment opposite the street, the man living there had a camera looking out the window. He took a clear picture of Zep's face peering out the window. His apartment was full of pictures and newspaper clippings related to the Jigsaw case, and was a real mess, as if the man living there had gone insane over trying to catch Jigsaw.

And he had. How could it be otherwise. It was Detective Tapp. His partner, Detective Sing, had been killed five months ago and it was all his fault. He had a long scar on his throat. He had also been discharged from the police force. He was looking through his camera at Zep and was muttering to himself.

"Who are you, little man?" he said. "I see you... Does Dr. Gordon know you're at home with his wife? I know you know something. What are you doing there? Waiting for the doctor? I'm waiting for the doctor. Hmm."

It was clear that Tapp still suspected Lawrence to be the Jigsaw killer.

"I never should have let you go..."

*BACK TO FIVE MONTHS AGO*

Tapp's car pulled up alongside a building, with Lawrence in the passenger seat. They were returning from the police station after listening to Amanda's story. Tapp was reluctantly letting Lawrence go, although he still didn't trust him. Lawrence was glad to finally be able to leave Tapp's company.

"Here we are," Lawrence said. "That was, uh, quite an amazing story that woman told."

Tapp nodded silently.

Lawrence stepped out of the car and shut the door, then peered back down into the open window.

"Look, I'm sorry I can't be of more help to your investigation."

Tapp nodded again. "You know, we arrested a dentist last week who liked to play with kids too much. He lived two blocks from here. The sewer lines run under this neighbourhood too, Doctor." He was trying to hint something, but Lawrence obviously didn't understand, or care enough to understand.

Lawrence walked away and Tapp drove off. When he got back to the police station, he started re-watching Jigsaw's video from Amanda's trap, trying to see if he missed something. Sing entered the room behind him.

"Hey Tapp?" Sing said.

"Mmm?" Tapp answered, not looking away from the TV screen.

"We're gonna go down to the grill, go get a beer," Sing replied. "Wanna come?"

"I don't think so," Tapp responded. "Thanks anyway."

"Fine, I'll leave you to have fun up here," Sing said, putting on his jacket. Tapp wasn't paying attention, still rewinding Jigsaw's video over and over again.

"Hey Tapp," Sing said. "I don't mean to be disrespectful, but you should really find yourself a girlfriend."

He chuckled, and hit Tapp playfully on the arm. Tapp laughed a bit too but still didn't look up. Sing turned around and was about to exit the room, when suddenly-

"Wait wait wait, Sing!" Tapp called. "Get back here!"

Sing stopped and turned around. Tapp had the video paused on a still frame where a wall was shown in the background of the video. It read "118th Street".

"Remember 118th Street?" Tapp asked.

Sing looked at the screen. "Ah... K2K. The gang's territory was only about four blocks."

"Yeah," Tapp said. "Now listen to this." He rewinded the video slightly and they heard a fire engine siren faintly in the background of the video.

"We gotta check the records from all the fire emergencies that occurred there in the last two weeks!" Tapp said. "Go, go, now!"

Sing turned and quickly walked off.

A few hours later, Sing approached Tapp in the police station and they started looking over a map of the area.

"On the night of Tuesday the 17th, we got a fire alarm going off in the rear wing of 213 Stygian Street," Sing said. "It's an old listing. Used to be a mannequin factory. You think we have enough for a warrant, though?"

"Who said anything about a warrant?" Tapp said, standing up and grabbing his jacket.

"Right now?" Sing said.

"Why not?" Tapp answered.

"Yeah, why not?" Sing said, grabbing his gun and putting a cartridge into it. He then grabbed his coat and frantically followed Tapp out the door.

The two of them pulled up to the old warehouse which they suspected to be Jigsaw's lair. With Sing's shotgun they entered through the large wooden door at the front. Sing was ready, holding out the shotgun. They made their way up a flight of stairs cautiously. They came up to another level, which had clearly been used recently as there was a new looking TV and radio on a desk. Right next to the desk is the K2K graffiti from the video.

"I got you..." Tapp whispered.

They moved into a room separated with a chain link fence, and there was a slightly raised platform, with a few steps leading up on either side. Tapp went up the steps onto the platform, where there were some huge tables covered in heavy red cloth. Tapp pulled back the cloth on one of the tables, revealing a small model of the bathroom, with dolls of Adam and Lawrence on either side. Clearly Jigsaw had been planning their capture for a long time.

"What the fuck is this," Tapp said. "Oh shit..."

He pulled back the cloth on another table, revealing the clown-like puppet from Amanda's video. Next to the puppet was a large pig mask with long dark hair. There was another large object covered in red cloth, and the two detectives heard moaning coming from underneath it, which startled them.

"Oh fuck!" Sing yelled.

They both walked over to the large object and stood either side of it. They then pulled the red cloth off to reveal a man tied to a chair with duct tape covering his mouth, held tightly in place by a manacle around his neck. There was a contraption on the chair with two power drills six inches from either side of the man's head. The man's eyes were filled with worry and panic, as he stared at the two detectives, who stared back at him in shock.

Suddenly, a door was heard clanging and the detectives turn round. Jigsaw had just entered the warehouse. Sing was ready to go to him.

"Wait!" Tapp said. "Let's see what he's gonna do!"

"Why?" Sing responded, gesturing to his shotgun. "We've fucking got him!"

Tapp had studied this guy and wanted to see what he looked like first.

"We don't know what he looks like," Tapp said. "Let's see what he's gonna do."

The two detectives quickly covered up everything they uncovered, then got into hiding positions, ready to apprehend Jigsaw when he approached. Jigsaw reached the platform, covered in a long black cloak with his hood up, covering his face. He reached and uncovered the man in the chair. When he spoke, Tapp and Sing immediately recognized his voice from the video.

"Awake already, Jeff?" Jigsaw said to the man. "I need more powerful tranquilizers next time."

Jeff began to sob, and Jigsaw put an arm on his shoulder.

"Don't cry," he said. "I've given your life purpose."

Suddenly, Sing cocked his shotgun and he and Tapp leapt from the hiding places, aiming their weapons at Jigsaw.

"Freeze! Police!" Sing yelled. "Put your fucking hands in the air!"

"Hold it right there!" Tapp yelled. "Don't move!"

Jigsaw slowly raised his hands in the air, then stepped on a switch on Jeff's contraption. The power drills on the contraption started up then started to move towards his head.

"Now you'll make a choice," Jigsaw said. "In twenty seconds, the life of this man will be erased."

"Shut up and get down here!" yelled Tapp.

"What did you do?" Sing yelled, keeping his shotgun at steady aim. "How do you turn it off?"

The drills were getting closer and closer to Jeff's head.

"Tell him how to stop it!" Tapp yelled.

"One key will unlock it." Jigsaw said calmly.

"Where is it?" yelled Sing frantically.

"In the box." Jigsaw said.

"Box!" Sing yelled, moving towards a small metal box on the side of the chair. He opened it. Inside there was a ring of 30 keys. He tried a few different keys but none would work.

"Fuck!" he yelled. "Which key, which key?"

"Time is running out." Jigsaw said.

"Shut up and get down here, asshole!" Tapp yelled.

"What's more important to you, officer?" Jigsaw said. "Arresting me or saving the life of another human being?"

"Get down on your knees!" Tapp shouted. "Sick bastard!"

"Yes officer, I am sick." Jigsaw said. "I'm sick from the disease eating away at me inside. I'm sick of people who don't appreciate their blessings. I'm sick of people who scoff at the suffering of others. I'm sick of it all!"

With that, Jigsaw produced a knife from his sleeve, swung it upwards and slashed Tapp's throat. Tapp collapsed to the ground, blood gushing out of his neck.

"Tapp!!" Sing screamed. He shot the two drills on the contraption and they stopped. He then chased Jigsaw down the stairs, his shotgun clutched tightly in his hand. Tapp was sitting there in agony, gurgling and clutching his throat. He whispered to Tapp:

"I'll be back, okay? I'll be back!"

He turned around and scooted down the stairs after Jigsaw, who turned into a long corridor. Meanwhile, Tapp was starting to stand up, holding his throat. He started dragging along the floor after Sing. In the corridor, Sing cocked his shotgun and yelled after Jigsaw: "Freeze or I'll shoot!"

Jigsaw continued to run, so Sing fired. The bullet hit Jigsaw, and he slumped to the ground, seemingly lifeless. Sing moved further down the hallway slowly, when he walked into a booby trap. There was some tripwire on the ground in front of him, and he walked carelessly into it. The tripwire triggers six shotguns above his head, which all fire at once and hit him, blood splattering everywhere. Sing slumped to his knees for a few seconds, spasming. Tapp dragged himself down the stairs just in time to see Sing's lifeless body fall to the ground. The supposedly dead Jigsaw got up and continued walking down the hallway. He slid a large door open then disappeared into a dark room.
