Throughout the weeks, Morgan and Alex have gotten close to their classmates. Surprisingly, Morgan found them bearable. Alex mostly spent their time with the male students but would gossip with Mina whenever they could. Alex and Mina became best friends and they would invite Mina over all the time.

Morgan didn't get close to anyone specific but if she had to choose someone, she would choose Momo. She spent her time standing by Momo and listening to her talk. But it wasn't always like this, most of the time, Morgan was alone while Momo was off with other students. Momo was one of the most popular people around so Morgan understood why she wouldn't want to be around Morgan all the time. Morgan scared people and it caused them to run away from her. She doesn't mean to scare others, it just happened because of her quirk.

But lately, Momo has been more distant. She hasn't been speaking with Morgan as much and would quickly leave the classroom with her other friends rather than wait for Morgan. One day, Morgan had enough. She didn't even bother to look at Momo anymore. She blocked her out of her head and kept her eyes glued on the board or in her notebook.

During lunch when the teacher would go to sleep and everyone would leave the classroom for lunch, Morgan stayed behind in class. She didn't make a lot of sounds so Aizawa never cared. Morgan would read, study, doodle, daydream, or just stare at a flicker of flame until lunch is over. She never ate anything during lunch because Kayama thought that Morgan would buy lunch like Alex.

Alex tried to invite her to eat lunch with them and their friends but Morgan could tell that their friends didn't want her around. They would look at her unsurely before whispering to one another.

Morgan was just used to being alone. It wasn't anything out of the usual. But it still hurts.

Morgan was sitting in class again while everyone was at lunch. Her cheek was pressed up against the desk as she stared at a little flicker of flame that danced in the palm of her hand. Her head snapped up and she clenched her hand to distinguish the flame. Morgan looked up and saw Jiro, the short girl with short dark purple hair and an earphone jack quirk. "I thought I heard you in here." She said and walked further into the classroom. Morgan narrowed her eyes at her, wondering how she heard her even though she never said anything. "I heard your flames flickering through the walls." Jiro clarified.

Morgan rolled her eyes and looked away from the girl. "What are you even doing in here? Aren't you supposed to be outside with Momo or Alex?" She asked with her arms crossed. "Don't want to," Morgan said, her voice muffled by her sleeve since her head was now resting on her arm. "Why not? Aren't you close with them?" She asked. Morgan shrugged, not looking at Jiro. She just wanted to be alone again. Jiro sighed and walked up to her desk then placed a hand on her shoulder.

Morgan lifted her head to look up at the girl. Her red eyes meet her onyx eyes. Jiro stared at Morgan's facial features and couldn't help but admire her jawline and lips. Jiro blushed and looked away, twirling one of her cords. Morgan stared at her confused by her actions but she found it cute that Jiro would twirl her cords.

"What do you want?" Morgan said. Jiro looked at her, her cheeks returning to normal color, "You can't just stay in here. Come on." She said and took Morgan's hand. Morgan didn't try to pull away from her, she liked how soft and petite her hand was. Jiro pulled Morgan out of the classroom and down the halls. Morgan followed quietly as she stared at the back of Jiro's head.

She led them into the cafeteria area and led them to her table which had Momo, Asui, and Hakagakure. "Hey guys," Jiro greeted and sat down at the table. The other three stared up at Morgan as she stood there. Morgan didn't do anything else but stood there and looked the other direction. Morgan's never been in the cafeteria before. "You can sit here with me," Jiro said and patted the seat next to her. Morgan stared at Jiro for a second before sitting down beside her.

An awkward silence hung between all of them as Momo and Asui would glance at Morgan from time to time. Even though she can't see it, she knew that Hakagakure was staring at her too. "I'm leaving," Morgan informed before getting up from her seat. "Wait, why?" Jiro asked. "Because," all Morgan said before leaving the cafeteria with people staring at the back of her head.

---------

She hated school. It was the same as before, she would get left alone and people would see her as a freak. But this time, her oldest brother wasn't even here. He was forced to go to some other school he didn't even want to go to. He would come home and eat quietly before going to bed.

Duke would always brag about his day and how well he did at school. It was annoying but Morgan missed that about him. She missed the small fights her siblings would have and how the two of them would always force Morgan to choose who was better.

It was just another day at school, Morgan was alone again and Alex was somewhere else with everyone else. However, Morgan decided to not stay in the classroom for lunch. She wanted to go somewhere different. She decided to head out to the field to enjoy the open space. If she's going to waste her lunchtime, she might as well try to practice.

She picked up a baseball and put it in the palm of her hand. She let the baseball get engulfed in her flames. Before she could think about controlling the temperature of her flames, the ball had turned into ashes.

Morgan gritted her teeth angrily and chucked the ashes on the ground. She looked around for anything else to use. She eventually found a metal bat and an empty water bottle. She carefully stared at the water bottle and allowed the flames to slowly come out.

Morgan did her best to concentrate but no matter how hard she tried, it either melted or burned into ashes. The bottle melted in seconds and the metal bat melted as fast as two blinks of an eye.

"Why can't I get this right?!" Morgan snarled to herself and kicked away whatever was left of the melted bat. She sat down on the ground and held her head in her hands. She hated this. She hated how she wasn't capable of controlling her own quirk. Maybe she really is a monster.

She ran her fingers through her hair frustrated and let out a sigh of defeat.

Morgan heard soft footsteps coming towards her. The gravel softly crunching under the person's shoes as they approached her and stopped next to her. The person sat down beside her and leaned against her.

The person was petite and warm. The person smelled of vanilla, making her feel calmer. Her muscles that were tense began to relax. The person's warm presence made her feel safe and comfortable.

It's been so long since Morgan felt like this. She hasn't felt like this since that one day Kayama found her and her siblings on the street and took them in. But who was this person that was capable of making her feel this way with just their presence?

Morgan slowly lifted her head and looked at who was leaning against her.

It was the girl with onyx eyes and short dark purple hair along with earphone jacks hanging from the two cords that were attached to her earlobes.

"...Jiro.."
