Insomnia filled my deep dark nights, and tiredness plagued my days. The hours throughout the darkness seemed to fade away, passing in extreme slowness. Each hour disappearing as if it had never existed - that's the thing with time; it passes, it carries on no matter what sickening things happen on this planet. Time waits for nobody.

As each number morphed into another on my pink digital alarm clock on my bedside table, my mind continued to think about Hunter. I was exhausted, I hadn't had a good nights sleep since that day Hunter and I fought - my gut was telling me to pick up the phone and ring him, ask for his help. But it was too late for help, I'd made my bed and I had no choice but to lie in it now.

Losing the one person you could always depend on, has to be the most heartbreaking thing you could ever encounter. Hunter had even stopped hanging out with our group altogether, he'd always come into registration at the very last minute to sign in and then he'd leave, blanking all of us. Liam had been off with me since Hunter and I had the argument in the cafeteria, and honestly I don't blame him. He's lost his best friend too; and it's all my fault.

Just as the burning rays of sun light beamed through the small cracks of the blinds in my window, my body began to shut off. Sleep finally took over me, allowing me to forget my heartache for just a few hours.

It was Friday morning and tonight the biggest party of the year was being held, and I'd officially ran out of excuses to not go to it. After a considerable amount of persuasion, Luke decided I could go if he tagged along too. I hadn't been to a party in years, and I was really looking forward to it. It's a chance to let my hair down, and forget all about the dramas. I had to make the most of it, considering Luke rarely ever lets me go to these gatherings with all our friends.

"Are we getting ready at my place or yours Grace?" Olivia asked, we were all sat round our usual table for morning registration.

"Mine. Mum will be fine with it and you could stay round after the party too?"  I suggested, my eyes flickered to the empty chair next to Liam; a mixture of pain and sorrow spiralling within me.

"Sounds like a plan señorita." Olivia smiled, Liam and I silently stared at one another, our eyebrows knitted closely.

"What? I'm really into Spanish at the minute!" Olivia giggled.

"You never fail to make me laugh Liv." Liam smiled, staring at her in ore.

There was a glimmer of emotion in Liam's eyes; an affection I had never seen him sport before. His face lit up like a christmas tree, hope sinking in all the crevices on his tanned face. Olivia took every inch of darkness away that gloomed inside his soul, igniting it with fireworks; making his life worth living again after all the loss he's experienced. Liam's the typical male teenager, settling down had never been on his mind. But right now, I could tell that was all he could think about.

Liam looked at Olivia the very same way I once looked at Luke, with love and admiration.

Liv clearly had no clue about Liam's feelings for her, but I couldn't help but wonder if Hunter knew about this all along and had never told me.

Liam had always been a mystery to me; a jigsaw puzzle with so many pieces it was impossible to put them together and understand. But now I understood; all he ever needed was someone to be his light, someone to guide the way and that person is Liv. The thought of my two best friends riding off in the sunset together filled me with glee. They both deserve a bit of happiness, I needed to make this happen. After all, maybe Olivia does feel the same way about Liam.

A loud buzzer filled the room, indicating that form time was now over. Everyone began to stand up from the tables, trailing towards the door to begin there journeys to first lesson. Each student's face I came across seemed so unexcited for the next 100 minutes of a subject, but not me; I had math and it would be 100 minutes of pure bliss.

I strode through the corridors heading towards the math block, figuring out the sums and equations was my escape from the grey cloud that towered over me every now and then. I'd always suffered with low moods, but sometimes they hit rock bottom and that's usually when I pull out my math homework and grit my teeth into it. It helped me forget, it made me remember that I am not useless at everything, despite what Luke tells me everyday.

When I finally got to Room 9, I joined the queue of students awaiting to get permission from the teacher to enter the classroom. I loved math, but sometimes these lessons get lonely considering everyone in my math group either hates me, or doesn't want to associate their selves with me because they hate Liam and Hunter. It was as if everybody judged me, presuming I encouraged the fights they encountered everywhere they went.

When really it was the complete opposite, I hated violence.

I despised it.

"Fancy seeing you here!" A soothing voice spoke from behind me, I twisted round accidentally dropping my books in the process.

"You always seem to drop something around me, are you clumsy or do I just have a strong effect on you?" He drawled, as I stared into his unforgettable darts of blue.

My cheeks burned hot, I was rarely ever clumsy but each time I'm around him; I'm a complete mess.

"Uh-I'm...I'm just clumsy." I stuttered, my voice sounding far from convincing.

"Sure you are." He smirked, before reaching down and grabbing all my books.

It was him, the mysterious boy I'd met in the English block last week. After seeing him that day, I thought I dreamt the whole thing considering I hadn't seen him around school since.

"I never got your name the first time we met?" I stated, as he handed all my revision notes and algebra books back to me.

His smile was warm, welcoming; alluring me to find out more about him. The effect he had on me a week ago, had somehow gotten more powerful. Something about him was amazingly different, his eyes had the ability to make me forget everything bad in my life.

"How do I know you're not some weirdo that's going to hunt me down on my social media, take my photos and then use it to catfish someone?" He narrowed his eyes at me, pursing his lips holding back a laugh.

"Do I look like a weirdo to you Mr Blue Eyes?" I said, rolling my eyes before they widened as I released what I just called him.

If he didn't think I was a weirdo before, he sure does now.

"Mr Blue Eyes huh?" He smirked, "I know my eyes are nice, but not that nice for you to stare at them for so long that the colour would imprint on your memory."

"Oh-Erm..." I blushed, wishing a massive hole would open up in the ground and suck me in.

"Come on in class, I have an exciting lesson planned for you today." Miss Jaxon opened the door, allowing all of us inside the class room.

Thank god, saved by the teacher.

As I walked in the classroom I noticed the tables had been moved into rows of 4, which usually means a new seating plan. I wasn't bothered who I sat next too as long as they didn't copy my answers or distract me from my work. The projector turned on at the front of the room, showing the changes and who now sat where.

"Find your name on the white board, and then sit in your designated seat please." Miss Jaxon requested kindly, her shoulder length blonde hair bounced as she spoke.

She was insanely young, and I'd always admired her for getting her way through Uni so quickly and securing such a good job once she'd graduated. Miss Jaxon had an petite body, and each day she wore a different dress which always complimented it perfectly. She had it all; the brains, looks and personality.

I stared at the whiteboard hunting for my name, but I couldn't quite make out the writing without my glasses. As I rummaged through my bag hunting for them, a familiar cologne intoxicated me.

"Looks like your with me Mrs Green Eyes."  He spoke next to me, looking pleased with himself.

"What, your sitting next to me?"

"Well yeah, can you not read?" He smiled mischievously.

"I haven't got my glasses on, so the answer to that question would be no."

"Alright Mrs Snappy." Blue eyes walked backwards, holding his hands up in the air.

Sighing, I lean't my body against the table behind me, "Please can you quit doing the whole nickname thing now?"

He began to chuckle, his muscles rippling through his white t-shirt each time they tensed.

"You started it!"

I glanced round the room, noticing that we were the only ones not in their designated seats.

Miss Jaxon appeared in front of us, an over enthusiastic smile forming on her face.

"You must be Leo, welcome to Year 13 math. I'm Miss Jaxon!"

Leo? Leo...

"That's me!"

"You're sitting next to Grace, who you already seem acquainted with." She gestured towards me, "She's quite the math whiz, so if you need any help I know she'd be happy to help."

I couldn't help but smile at her compliment, I knew I was good at math but no-one else had ever taken the time to comment on that before. Since Luke began losing his temper with me, any belief I ever had in myself had slowly disappeared. Luke had worn me down to nothing, and I found myself worrying constantly about whether I'd get into my first choice University.

My parents have always boasted to their friends about how smart and intelligent I apparently am, but that was never enough for me to believe it. Parents always call their children smart, I mean what kind of parent would they be if they told me I was stupid?

When I say parents, I mean my mum and my stepdad; although he's my stepdad he's been more like a father to me than my biological one ever has.

After Miss Jaxon and Leo finished introducing themselves, she walked towards the front of the classroom. One hundred minutes of Mr Blue Eyes was now about to begin.
