The next day Jeongguk is back to his energetic self, having gotten 17 hours of sleep. He smirks as he tugs on his IV, the small machine going off beside him as it comes out. Jimin runs into the room from one right across the hall.

"Again, Jeongguk? Why do you always do this?" Jimin shakes his head before walking over to the edge of Jeongguk's bed.

"To get your attention. Plus I like when you touch my arm. Do they perhaps offer to put IVs in other places? Like—and this is just a suggestion—maybe upper thigh, a little closer to—"

"Nope, they always go in the arm." Jimin's flushed face looks down, heat radiating from his cheeks. Once the IV is in Jimin sends a glare to Jeongguk before starting to walk out the door.

"Can you get me some jello before you come back? The green kind not the blue kind!" Jeongguk yells out to Jimin and is satisfied when he hears Jimin's cute laugh echoing down the hallway.

Taehyung watches as Jimin giggles all the way down the hallway. He sets down the patient clipboard he was holding and slightly leans to the right, peaking into room 102. There he sees an attractive patient with a triumphant smirk plastered across his face.

"Interesting." Taehyung whispers to himself before shaking his head and bringing his focus back to the clipboard.

Jimin had just finished a surgery where he had removed an inflamed appendix and was roaming around the cafeteria looking for the stock of jello.

His eyes landed on the table with the piles of jello containers on top. He walked to the table and began searching for the green jello Jeongguk had asked for.

"Why is all of this blue?! There's seriously not a single gr—wait I see one." Jimin spots the green jello in the very back row on the table, he leans over to grab it, knocking over a few blues in the process. He successfully gripped the green jello in his hand as he heard his pager go off. He looked down at the screen to see in bright red the number 102 flashing wildly.

Jimin let the jello fall out of his hand as he began to sprint towards Jeongguk's hospital room.

Jimin heard the flatlining machine before he saw it, quickly joining the crowd of people surrounding Jeongguk's room. His body went into overdrive as he pushed through people, mercilessly shoving them to the side.

Jimin stopped in his tracks once he saw the scene before him. Jeongguk had taken the sensors off of his heart and stuck them in random places, one donning itself smack in the middle of his forehead. The chords of the sensors had become tangled around Jeongguk, trapping his arms in a weird position as he wiggled them around to try and untangle the mess.

Jimin pursed his lips while massaging his temples in annoyance.

"Jeongguk!" His head turned sharply to the doorway, eyes landing on a fuming Jimin.

"Jiminie!" Jeongguk awkwardly laughs. However, his apologetic smile fades as he eyes Jimin's empty hands. "Where's my jello?"

Jimin furrows his eyebrows. "You're seriously worried about your jello right now? I thought you died!" Jimin kept angrily muttering to himself as he untangled Jeongguk, placing the sensors back in their rightful places. Jeongguk basked in his glory as he felt what he had planned for all along—Jimin's tiny, warm hands smoothing the sensors back onto his chest, rubbing in circles to make sure they stayed put.

Jeongguk smiled long after the crowd left his doorway and the sensors were put back on, he smiled up until Jimin brought up his surgery and he felt his face drop in worry.

"I'm going to talk you through it, okay? I'm going to explain what we'll do and then we'll actually do it tomorrow." Jeongguk nodded, his bottom lip in between his teeth.

"Dr.Min and I will open you up, right along the place we did last time, so you'll only have one scar. Then we'll find the small piece of bone and remove it. We'll check over one more time and then close you up and bring you back here. That's all there is to it. Any questions?" Jeongguk sat silently for a second before opening his mouth and then closing it again.

"The risks. What are they? You have to tell me, right?" Jimin nodded and placed his hand gently on Jeongguk's arm.

"I was just seeing if you had any other questions first. The risks, though unlikely, include sudden heart failure or cardiac arrest which could lead to death. In a procedure as short as this, of course the risks could still prove to make things difficult, but it's highly unlikely they'll occur." Jimin dropped his 'professional doctor' voice and replaced it with his sincere one. "Don't worry, okay? Have I failed saving you yet?"

Jeongguk looked around the room, nervousness flooding his eyes. "I guess you haven't. You've saved me everytime so far, this is just one more time, right?"

"Yes, and I promise I won't let you down." Jimin held out his pinky, curving it slightly.

Jeongguk took Jimin's pinky with his and connected them. "Pinky promise? That's a big deal, Jiminie."

"Pinky promise." Jimin affirmatively responded, determination in his eyes. Jeongguk's nerves lessened slightly when he looked at Jimin's face shining with confidence. He gave a tiny smile to Jimin, squeezing their pinkies together one more time before releasing them.

"See you tomorrow?" Jeongguk asks, his eyebrows still slightly upturned in worry.

"See you tomorrow." Jimin gives Jeongguk a single pat on the head before walking out of the room, switching on the tv to distract Jeongguk from thinking too much about his surgery the next day.

Jeongguk watched the tv blankly, too engrossed in his thoughts to catch the plot. Daydreams of flatlining machines and Hoseok's crying face flashed through his mind.

"I promise I won't die, either."
