• re·un·ion [rēˈyo͞onyən] - an instance of two or more people coming together again after a period of separation •

Jeongguk woke up hours later with a line of drool hanging from the side of his mouth, creating a dark spot on the arm of the orange chair beneath him.

His mind leaves its haziness when a soft voice graces his ears by calling his name. Jeongguk rubs his tired eyes and looks up at Jimin, whose eyes were red and puffy.

Oh God. Oh please no. Let Min-seo be alright.

"Jimin, how's Min-seo? Is she out of surgery yet??" Jeongguk bites his lower lip in nervousness, drawing a small bead of blood to his tongue.

"She's alright. You made it in time." Jimin embraces Jeongguk into a hug as he stands up. Jeongguk breathes out a shaky sigh and a visible weight lifts off of Jeongguk's shoulders.

"Can I see her?"

Jimin nods and takes Jeongguk's hand in his own, guiding him to Min-seo's room.

Min-seo was just waking up when they got there and her eyelids were heavy with exhaustion.

Jeongguk walks slowly up to the edge of the bed and kneels down to be at face level with the little girl in front of him.

"Oh thank goodness, my true love's kiss worked!" Jeongguk smiles towards Min-seo as the girl's face lights up with her toothless smile.

Though she was weak, she still manages out an enamored, "You can use that to save people too? You must be magical," Her small voice trails off slightly at the end.

"Well it wouldn't have worked without the help of your princess powers! I mean, who knew I was friends with one of the strongest princesses in the land?" Min-seo's smile grows wider before she suddenly states that she's tired and that as a princess, she needs her 'beauty sleep.' Soon enough, her eyelids fall heavily and she's sleeping soundly alongside the beeping machines.

"You must be Mr.Jeon, we've heard a lot about you." An unfamiliar voice comes from the other side of the room as a man and a woman get up to meet Jeongguk. "Thank you so much for always looking after her and helping her feel like a kid. It's nice to see her so happy despite her...circumstances. It's not easy for her to always be cooped up in this hospital, and of course we both still have to work in order to keep her here. But I can't thank you enough. Sorry for my rambling I'm just so grateful." The rambling woman finishes and embraces Jeongguk in her final words.

"It was really no problem, she's an angel. She helped me out too when I was stuck in here. And she's a real trooper." Jeongguk winks and hugs both of Min-seo's parents before leaving the room and linking hands with Jimin who was gazing at Jeongguk with a lovestruck expression.

"That was so cute! So heartwarming to see." Jimin squeaks out, the adoration heard in his voice.

Jeongguk swings their entwined hands back and forth between them, a slight smile covering his face.

"Let's go home. I've had enough of this hospital for one day."

Jimin nods in agreement and they walk outside of the glass doors, leaving behind the memories that almost became a tragedy that day.

By the time they get home, both boys are so exhausted they just collapse onto the couch in a cuddly mess. Jimin turns on the tv and they watch some shitty soap opera while simply enjoying each other's company.

The next few days were peaceful, until the day came when Jeongguk was to meet his brother, a man he hadn't seen for the past eight years of his life. His nerves were already building up by the time he was standing in front of the restaurant where their fates would again cross paths.

Jeongguk didn't even know what to look for. What if he looks nothing like he did when they were kids? What if he has a huge scar across his face and is unrecognizable?

All of Jeongguk's doubts were washed away when he met eyes with a taller man leaning against the wall next to the bar. Eyes that were big and round and deep brown. His eyes.

They both stare, unmoving for a moment before finally running to each other and embracing each other in a tight hug.

"It's been so long. Look how grown up you are! I was afraid I wouldn't recognize you." Junghyun looks Jeongguk up and down and smiles.

"I was afraid of the same thing. I didn't think I was going to be able to find you." Jeongguk laughs and pulls Junghyun in for another hug.

"So, shall we get some food? I'm starved!" Junghyun pats his tummy in an overdramatic way.

"Oh me too! I might die if I don't get some food in my belly right now!" Jeongguk responds in an equally overdramatic way. Must run in the family.

They grab a table and order some food and get to talking. They catch up on everything. On their love lives, careers, dreams and anything else they could possibly think of.

By the end of dinner they were laughing so loudly and telling wild stories so much so that they were disturbing the other customers around them.

They apologized the best they could before walking out to the parking lot together.

"Whew. That was fun," Junghyun says, a bit of laughter still present in his tone, "We should do it again sometime."

Jeongguk nods in agreement before responding, "Well, Thanksgiving is coming up next week. Can I hope to see you there? Feel free to bring your girlfriend around too! I'd love to meet her."

"Sounds like a plan! I can't wait to meet your boyfriend. He sounds so sweet."

"I'll see you then! I love you, Junghyun. I'm so happy we finally got to see each other again."

"I love you too, J. I'm so happy I found you."

The two boys embrace one more time before heading their separate ways. Jeongguk's smile never leaves his face as he drives back to Jimin's apartment.

Jimin hugs Jeongguk and kisses him on the cheek as he walks in. "So, how did it go??"

"It was amazing! It's like we never got separated. We filled each other in on everything and it was so nice. I finally feel like I have a brother again."

"Yay! I'm so happy for you, Jeongukkie!" Jimin hugs Jeongguk again.

A few hours later, the boys were sprawled out on the couch as usual, watching some weird dark comedy movie. The only thing different than usual was Jeongguk's phone screen lighting up every few seconds with a new text message notification.

"Wow, you two have been texting up a storm ever since you got back from dinner! You must really be clicking." Jimin looks towards Jeongguk who's smiling down at his phone.

"Yeah we're talking about plans for Thanksgiving. What were you thinking we should do for that?"

"Well I was thinking you could maybe meet my parents? They invited both of us for Thanksgiving dinner. If it's too much pressure I won't force you to go!" Jimin nervously looks to Jeongguk whose eyes light up.

"I'd love to! Do you think they would mind if my brother and his girlfriend come too? It would be the first Thanksgiving I've had in years with actual family."

"They wouldn't mind at all! The more the merrier!" Jimin kisses Jeongguk with a smile covering his face. "I can't wait!"

And so they cuddled even closer as the November chill bundled outside their windows. They dreamt that night of piping hot turkey and a crowded table full of laughter.
