Jimin, now able to enjoy the motorcycle rides to some extent, admires the sky flying high above them as they ride down the street. Jimin feels the air blowing his locks begin to fade as they slow down, eventually coming to a stop in front of a small building huddled in between two others. You could almost miss it if you were going too fast.

The thin brick building had a bright blue door whose bell rang out as the two pushed their way inside, taking in the faint aroma of cinnamon. Seats were scattered around the length of the room, boiling coffee makers bubbling along the side and pastry holders filled to the brim with assorted muffins, cupcakes and brownies. Jimin's eyes lit up as he examined the shop.

"It's so cute!" He bounces up and down excitedly while clapping his hands.

Lost in admiring Jimin's reaction, Jeongguk knocked into a chair and caused it to clatter to the ground, startling the few inhabitants of the cafe. Jeongguk looks down in embarrassment and softly apologizes to the other people, quickly ushering Jimin towards a table to await for their order to be taken.

Jeongguk orders a coffee with a few sugars and Jimin decides to order the sweetest thing on the menu, a small pastry in the shape of a bunny rabbit filled with jelly and iced to perfection.

He's so excited about his little dessert that he doesn't notice the glare Jeongguk gives the waiter for staring at Jimin like he was the most precious being in existence. Only he could look at him like that.

Once the waiter walks away after visibly flinching at Jeongguk's intense stare, Jeongguk looks to the smiling Jimin and clears his throat.

"So, Jiminie...got any questions for me? We can go back and forth to get to know each other!" He smiles cheekily and Jimin taps his chin in thought.

"What's your favorite color?"

"Black," Jeongguk replies without hesitation.

"That's boring." Jimin furrows his eyebrows, disappointed in Jeongguk's color choice.

"Fine. What's your favorite color?"

Jimin smiles and immediate answers, "Yellow!"

Jeongguk's watches Jimin's eyes light up as he responds, "Then that's my favorite color, too." A slight blush decorates Jimin's cheeks.

"So...what's your favorite—"

"Woah, woah, it's my turn to ask a question!" Jeongguk shakes his head at Jimin who tilts his head in confusion.

"But you asked me what my favorite color was. So it's my turn again!" Jimin's cheeks slightly heat up in irritation as his eyebrows furrow.

Lifting his eyebrows in realization, Jeongguk nods his head. "I guess you're right. Go ahead." He dramatically motions his hands, earning a giggle from the boy in front of him.

"What's your favorite animal?" Jimin's smile places itself back onto his face after getting to ask his question. Before Jeongguk answers Jimin says quickly, "Mine's bunnies!"

Jeongguk chuckles lightly and responds, "I'm a fan of little kittens. Specifically the one sitting right in front of me." He throws a wink to Jimin who flushes a bright pink.

"O-oh." Jimin looks down and plays with the silver fork in his hand, a wide smile spread across his pink tinted face.

"My turn! So...why is that Taehyung guy always trying to get in our business?" Jeongguk looks annoyed as he mentions the deep-voiced doctor.

Jimin's eyes stare at the table as he sets down his fork gently. He fiddles with the edge of his sleeve nervously, his anxiety suddenly filling the atmosphere surrounding the small table.

Jeongguk, taking notice of Jimin's switch in behavior softly says, "You don't have to talk about it if you don't want to. I didn't mean to make you nervous." Jeongguk slowly moves his hand over to Jimin's, stopping the boy's anxious movements.

"Something that happened in medical school caused him to become pretty overprotective of me. We're actually really close friends but he tries to keep his distance so he doesn't freak out too bad. The situation between us at the moment is similar to what happened back then, so his instinct reaction is to try to get you away from me. I don't want to get into details here but I can explain it later...it's just...hard to talk about." Jimin's eyes had glossed over with tears as he talked, however, not a single one was let loose.

Jeongguk's thumb gently smoothes over Jimin's hand, trying to calm his now shaky movements.

"We don't have to talk about it here. We don't have to talk about it at all if you don't want to." Jeongguk squeezes the smaller hand in his grasp, bringing a sense of comfort to the boy.

"I want to tell you, from the beginning. But we should go somewhere..." Jimin trails off as he glances around the cafe, looking over the few people in the vicinity before starting again, "...less public. We could go to my apartment, if you don't mind staying for a while. It's kind of a long story." Jimin takes his hand from Jeongguk's and scratches the back of his neck nervously.

"Of course I wouldn't mind staying! As long as your comfortable talking about it I'm always willing to listen, kitty." Jeongguk throws in a small wink at the end of his phrase, trying to ease Jimin's anxiety. His plan works as a faint blush covers Jimin's cheeks.

The smaller boy gets up and grabs Jeongguk's wrist, pulling him out of the cafe and towards the motorcycle, Jeongguk quickly throwing the money to pay for their food onto the small wooden table before he's pulled out.

"Let's go." Jimin puts the helmet onto his head and clips it securely, nodding in satisfaction. When the helmet tips a little as his head moves forward, Jeongguk leans over to fix the strap.

"Don't get too ahead of yourself, kitten." Jimin's face darkens in color and he looks down to his feet, embarrassed by his actions.

Soon enough both boys were on the bike, speeding off towards Jimin's apartment, where his backstory would soon be revealed.

Jimin carefully sits down on the couch, patting the open space beside him, signalling for Jeongguk to join him. The taller boy complies and takes a seat turning to face Jimin.

Jimin clears his throat nervously before softly saying, "I guess I should start from the beginning..." Jimin allows his words to flow as he is thrown back into that time, the darkest of his life.

"Jimin, what are you staring at?"

Jimin glances over to the taller boy leaning beside him. His eyes once again trail over to his previous focus.

"You know."

Taehyung scoffs beside him and mutters, "I told you, he's a total jerk. You should just forget about him. You have your studies to be focusing on."

"But look at him, Tae. He's gorgeous. How can I not shoot my shot?"

Taehyung huffs out, "Because you know you should be focusing on school. Not on some player like him."

Jimin lets out a gasp and turns quickly to Taehyung, his eyes wide as he hastily says, "Tae, he looked at me! I swear his eyes lingered a little, too! Oh my god...he looked at me. We have to go, he knows I was staring." Jimin quickly gets up and drags the taller boy behind him, not daring to take another glance.

"And that's how it started. It was just a simple crush, but in the following weeks it turned into something much different..." Taking a moment to collect his thoughts, Jimin starts the story once again, taking in a deep breath before continuing.

"Jimin, you've been ignoring me lately..."

"No I haven't," Jimin responds while typing away on his phone, his crush's name plastered at the top of the screen.

"Is it that guy? You've been talking to him, haven't you?"

"Why does it bother you? Still have a crush on me?" Taehyung's face goes red as he becomes silent.

"N-no! I'm just worried, he's not the best kind of guy..." Taehyung scratches his neck and looks over to Jimin in concern.

"I'm fine. I'm hanging out with him once this next class is over. I'll talk to you later." Jimin grabs his bag and shoves his books inside, quickly leaving to his last class of the day.

"Everything was fine at first. Sure, I became distant with Taehyung but I felt like I would be happy. That day, after weeks of talking to him, he asked me to date him. Of course I said yes, I was head over heels for him. I didn't notice something was seriously wrong until it was too late..."

"Jimin, stay with me tonight."

"Oh, I have plans with Taehyung. I can come over tomorrow though!" Jimin smiles but is only met with a frown.

"Don't ditch me for that loser. You love me, don't you?" Jimin nods his head fiercely. "Good boy. Now come with me."

Jimin, though slightly apprehensive, still follows. They arrive at the house, immediately met with the bass of loud music echoing from the building.

"I thought we were just going to your place..."

"Jimin, don't be a baby. Have a little fun." Jimin feels a grip around his wrist and has no choice but to move forward and into the crowd of hot, sweaty people.

They push through the crowd, making their way to the kitchen, passing pairs making out or doing body shots or dancing too close for comfort. Jimin feels himself become small as he becomes surrounded by his boyfriend's friends.

A drink in a red solo cup is pushed into his hands and a deep voice beside him instructs him to drink it. Jimin looks down into the cup to see the clear liquid.

He takes a sip and immediately recoils as he's met with the bitter alocohol taste. The boy beside him takes the cup and takes a mouthful of the bitter drink, immediately kissing Jimin intensely, forcing him to drink the liquid. After repeating the process until the cup was gone, Jimin stands quietly as his boyfriend socialized beside him.

Jimin was never much of a party-goer and mostly stayed at home or with Taehyung. Due to this, he was extremely lightweight and felt the effects of the alcohol almost instantly. He soon was grasping onto his boyfriend's arm, barely able to stand.

He felt himself being led into a room, away from the loud noise of the party. He heard the voice of his boyfriend as well as 3 others.

"Don't be a bad boy, Jimin. You'll let them do whatever they want, right? You love me, right?"

Jimin wasn't able to answer, his mind was too clouded from the alcohol. He couldn't stop the boys when they took him to the bed, when his body was stripped naked and touched all over by hands he didn't know. He couldn't tune out the laughter of his boyfriend as his friends did unspeakable things to him.

Jimin covers his ears, attempting to block out the echoing words and laughter of the past. Jeongguk slowly embraces him, holding him tight.

"You're okay. He can't hurt you anymore. I'm right here to protect you, Jiminie." Tiny sniffles come from the smaller boy.

"T-that's not all. He would call me names, bad names, and then he would h-hit me and wouldn't let me go outside." Jimin wipes his tears with his sleeves. "He was s-so scary, Jeongukkie." Jimin shoves his face into Jeongguk's chest, tears quickly darkening the fabric.

Jeongguk allowed his fingers to tangle themselves in Jimin's hair, petting his head comfortingly and pulling the shaking boy closer.

Jeongguk was about to speak but was stopped by Jimin's muffled words, "Even after 8 years I still get nightmares...I had one the other night..." More sobs were poured into Jeongguk's chest.

"Shhh, shhhh. It's okay. I'm here. I won't ever let him hurt you. You're safe with me." Jeongguk places a kiss to the top of Jimin's head and continues stroking his hair gently until his breathing stabilizes and his tears dry out. "See? I've got you."

Jimin nods and hugs Jeongguk softly whispering out, "Thank you."

Jeongguk quickly kisses Jimin's cheek and and watches as a slight blush and small smile appear on his face.

"To get your mind off of that guy, I'll confess something about my life to you now. How about that?"
