"Well, this is it. The final morning." Jimin looks at a dazed, still half-asleep Jeongguk.

"Good morning, sunshine," Jeongguk responds with a raspy morning voice, his eyes still drooping down, heavy from sleep.

"No funny business today. I have a surgery I have to do and I'll bring you food at lunch. In exchange for bringing you food, you won't do anything too stupid today, deal?" Jimin taps on the clipboard in his hands with a pen, awaiting Jeongguk's response.

Jeongguk groans and begins to rub his eyes, muttering a drawn out, "Deal."

"Great!" Jimin boops Jeongguk on the nose and begins to leave the room. "Oh, I'll have the nurse bring you breakfast. Any special requests?"

"You," Jeongguk replies smoothly, his eyes still closed peacefully. He peeks open his eyes to see the flustered boy in the doorway, rapidly stuffing the clipboard back into its holder and speeding down the hallway, his face covered by his hands. Jeongguk chuckles, a sneaky smirk quickly spreading itself across his face.

Jimin was focused entirely on his surgery, focusing on the torn flesh of the patient, the heart still beating steadily as they prepared to repair the left ventricle.

Just as he was about to make the first stitch his pager wildly flashes. He looks down to see the number 102. Although worried, he couldn't just leave the surgery he was on.

As the surgery progresses, the pager never stops flashing and beeping and eventually Yoongi pipes up in concern.

"Dr.Park, do you need to attend to something else? Is it perhaps...Jeon Jeongguk?"

Jimin looks to Yoongi, looks down at his pager, looks back to Yoongi and nods with a slight blush on his cheeks.

Yoongi gives an understanding look and says, "Go ahead, I can finish this from here." Jimin bows and spills out a quick thank you before going to clean up and preparing to race to Jeongguk's hospital room.

Jimin runs down the hallway, looking for any signs of trouble. His stomach drops when he sees the nurse crying outside of Jeongguk's room.

"Oh, Dr.Park! T-thank god," the nurse blubbers out, tears streaming down her face. "I just couldn't do it! He would not shut up about you. 'Where's Jimin?' and 'When will Jimin be back?' Good lord I couldn't handle it. I just kept paging you and paging you and he just kept talking and talking. I just—"

Jimin turns away from the nurse and peers into Jeongguk's room, watching the boy laugh uncontrollably, his nose scrunched up in the cutest little way. Jimin just sighs.

"Jeongguk, what happened to our deal?"

Jeongguk looks over to Jimin, his eyes slightly filled with tears because of how hard he was laughing.

"What deal?" Jeongguk asks, confusion spreading across his features. "Oh wait, I remember now. Oops." He gives Jimin an apologetic smile before replacing it with a smirk.

Jimin rolls his eyes. "I shouldn't have expected much anyways. You never listen."

"Hey! I listen!" Jeongguk crosses his arms. Jimin raises his eyebrow.

"Name one time you've listened to me." Jimin mimicks Jeongguk and crosses his arms.

"I listened when you told me not to give up after my heart stopped during surgery. I listened by coming back." Jimin's eyes widen, his heart racing as he remembered when he almost lost Jeongguk.

"Well at least you listen when it's important." Jimin laughs softly.

"So...you bringing me lunch or not? I'm hungry!" Jeongguk whines out, patting his stomach a few times.

Jimin scoffs before responding, "I swear, you never stop getting on my nerves."

"I'd rather be on top of you than on your nerves but I guess I'll settle for that for now."

Jimin's mouth drops open, he gasps out, "Jeon Jeongguk. Stop it." He covers his burning face and stomps out of the room, leaving Jeongguk to wonder if he would be getting his lunch or not.

His prayers are answered when Jimin returns half an hour later with a tray of food and a pile of five green jello containers nearly slipping out of his arms.

"What took you so long?" Jeongguk hungrily looks down to his food, licking his lips.

"Do you know how impossible it was to find five containers of green jello? I swear, it almost doesn't exist. I had to steal one out of the hands of an elderly woman on my way down here. I hope you're happy." Jimin crosses his arms, watching Jeongguk shovel the food into his mouth.

Jeongguk ignores Jimin's tale of his hardship and continues to finish the food, not leaving a single crumb left. He tosses one container of jello over to Jimin, who barely catches it, before opening one for himself.

"It's truly life changing, Jimin. Green jello, I'm telling you." Jeongguk spoons the green goop into his mouth, looking over to Jimin, motioning for him to do the same.

Jimin eats the jello reluctantly and finishes it with no problems, remarking, "Okay, I can agree with you on that. Life changing." Through the slight bit of sarcasm in his words, Jimin actually kind of meant it.

"So...how many hours do I have left, doc?" Jimin narrows his eyes at Jeongguk's tone.

"Don't act like you're dying! I think they're releasing you in three hours."

"Will you be here to see me off?" Jeongguk dramatically looks off into the distance. Jimin just rolls his eyes.

"Of course I will be. I have to take care of some patient checkups and then I'll be back. Don't worry." Jeongguk nods and allows Jimin to leave the room without any hassle.

Once Jimin returns to Jeongguk's room he sees another doctor starting to unhook Jeongguk from the sensors and other machines. Jimin clenches his fist in annoyance.

"Leave." The doctor turns around, looks at the angry look on Jimin's face and scurries out.

"Oh good, it's you Jiminie. I was starting to worry I wouldn't see you."

Jimin watches as Jeongguk pulls out his own IV. He almost got angry before he realized he wouldn't have to fix Jeongguk's IV anymore. Jeongguk lifts himself out of the bed, wobbling slightly.

Jimin rushes over to balance him but is stopped by two hands on his arms.

"I got it. Remember? I'm all better now." Jeongguk flexes his bicep to prove his strength.

"Alright, Mr.Strong Man," Jimin sarcastically says. Jeongguk laughs at his words before his face drops and he becomes serious.

"Thank you for everything, Jimin. I mean it. You saved my life." Jeongguk pulls Jimin into a hug as tears prick his eyes. Jimin's eyes slowly fill with hot tears which quickly end up spilling onto Jeongguk's shirt.

"Y-you better be back for you post-op checkup in a week," Jimin sobs out, burying his face in Jeongguk's shoulder.

"I wouldn't miss it, kitty."

Jimin scoffs through his sobs, still finding time to be annoyed at the nickname. At the same time, however, Jimin squeezes tighter onto Jeongguk.

"I'll walk you out. Hoseok is probably here to pick you up by now." Jeongguk nods and wipes Jimin's tears for him.

Before Jimin could turn to leave, Jeongguk caught his wrist in his grasp. Jimin looks and watches as Jeongguk taps his lips.

"I can't do that, Jeongguk."

"Technically I'm not a patient anymore. So, technically it isn't breaking the rules." Jeongguk looks smugly at the boy in front of him whose cheeks turn a bright pink.

Jimin looks to Jeongguk's lips before slowly pressing his own against them, lingering for a while before pulling away. His face and lips were still warm as they walked into the waiting room.

"Hoseok!" Jeongguk calls out, grabbing the red-head's attention.

Hoseok stops talking to Yoongi for a second to run over and embrace Jeongguk in a hug.

"Missed you bud! Let's get out of here." Jeongguk nods and smiles widely. "I'm just going to say goodbye to Yoongs real quick and then we can go." He swings his keys around his finger before making his way back to Yoongi.

Jeongguk looks back to Jimin. "Goodbye kiss?" Jimin pushes Jeongguk around, towards the hospital doors, flustered by Jeongguk's request.

Jimin watches as Hoseok gives a kiss to Yoongi's cheek and the boys walk out of the glass doors. He watches as Jeongguk turns and gives him one last wink before reaching the world outside which he hadn't seen for weeks.

Jimin waves until he can no longer see the boys. He stares at the glass doors long after Hoseok's car had pulled out of the parking lot. He stared until an important fact hit him and sent his heart into a racing mess.

He had forgotten to get Jeongguk's phone number.
