We need some time.

The words are swinging around in my head ceaselessly. The words my angel said last night are still hurting me. I should have known that events, people, and words have that terrible effect. No matter how long it has passed; it hurts the same. Sometimes, even more than the day it happened. Every time I hear them repeat in my brain, a pulsating pain crushes through me as if someone is stabbing me in my broken heart.

Jacob's voice from the hallway startles me before he appears. His black jeans and sweater resemble the outfit, my angel, usually chooses to wear. I shake my head at the pathetic thought.

"What are you doing?"

"Just zapping," I murmur. I have spent all the afternoon in front of the Tv, zapping from channel to channel wishing that I can find something that can hold my brain occupied.

"Is everything okay?" He asks coming closer.

"Yes," I lie. "Why?"

"You never struck me as the addict-Tv person," He narrows his eyes as if he attempts to comprehend.

"I might become one," A frown appears on his forehead at my words.

"Is everything okay with Corbyn?"

"Nope," I whisper darting my eyes at the screen. He moves closer and sits on the couch opposite me. "He uhm..wanting some time," I state when his stare doesn't free me. His phone vibrates it as he fishes it out of his back pocket.

"I gotta go, I'll see you later," He calls out before he shuts the front door. The sound of the thud reverberates around the house. I turn off the Tv dooming all the room in darkness. I walk to the wide window and stare outside admiring how a few raindrops scratch the earth. Black clouds are blanketing the sky giving no clear access to the petite angels that shine above brightly.

Hundreds of thoughts appear and disappear in my troubled mind. Thousands of scenarios flash and evaporate. This might be the way he thinks, the way he operates and has learned to deal with his problems his whole life, by pushing people away. Although, my hurt part doesn't think so. He's so selfish that he can't admit his weakness, he won't let me help him in any way that I can. He hates feeling powerless and will do everything to suppress that emotion. I huff leaning in the glass of the window. There's only one way to get the answers I want, and that's not it.

The waiting sound occupies our line until he picks up.

"Hey, what's up?"

"Do you know where Corbyn is?" I ask Jacob as I hear Blare's voice in the background ordering.

"He's at Cyle's."

"Do you have the address?" I ask burying my teeth on my swollen lip. My screen flashes with an address and I run to Noah's room.

"Hey," His pencil is rested between his two middle fingers as it whirls around. His eyes move to mine from the book he has in his hands. "Can you give me a ride, please?"

Noah turns on the corner and I feel my heart beating faster and faster. The sicking feeling has returned and I press my palms on my jeans to get rid of the sweat. My fingers tremble as I try to hold the phone with the address steadily.

"In the next corner, we have to turn to the left," I direct looking at the visual map on my device. The rain has become more powerful than before. The raindrops fall with crazy speed against the glass of the car. The sound of the water thudding echoes around the vehicle.

"We must be here," I murmur gazing outside until I find Corbyn's car. I let out a breath but at the same time, a heavy burden has been placed on my shoulders making it harder to breathe.

"Thanks for bringing me,"

"No problem. Do you want me to pick you up later?"

"Won't you go by Anna's?" A notification buzzes my phone and I look down to see my low battery.

"I will but if you need me, just call me. Okay?" I shake my head smiling.

"I won't. Thanks," I get out and feel the water soak my clothes in a second. I run towards the door of the house careful not to slip hearing Noah's car leave. I knock on the door and my heart jumps inside my cage rib. I pray that everything will work out fine until the door flies open.

"Hey, princess," Christian exclaims and a grin stretches on his face. I frown looking back at the rainy road. The street's lamp brightens the area letting me see the speed of the raindrops pouring down.

"I thought that was Cyle's house," I say over the rain.

"It's. We are hanging out," He explains and waves me to come inside. The moment the door closes, I shudder in the rapid change of temperature. I cross my arms over my chest feeling the heat of the house welcoming against my damp skin.

I follow Christian on the interior gazing at the house; photos hanging on the wall, clothes spread all around. I walk right behind him as I gulp trying to slow my throbbing heart. I feel so anxious to speak to him, even to see him. Like the first times we met, I was so eager yet terrified of us meeting again; wondering what he will say or think of me.

"We have company," Christain shouts pointing his hand at me. He plops down the couch as my eyes scan the room. Jace has his girlfriend on his lap next to Eva who stares at the phone. Two girls are talking away from the group in the corner of the living room. Cyle drinks his beer and a girl I haven't seen before, kisses his neck. His eyes meet mine.

"Hey, princess," He hands me his beer. "Want some?"

"No, thanks," Eva's head moves upwards at the sound of my voice.

"Thank God, I'm so bored with them." She shouts glaring at her brother who shrugs. "I didn't know you would come by,"

"I just wanted to see Corbyn," I clench my phone on my fist. She widens her eyes.

"Uhmm, he's not here," I frown but another voice stops me.

"What the hell are you talking about? He's..."

"He just left," She says instead, gritting her teeth on Cyle.

"What..."

"You want something to drink?" Christian asks as he appears on the side of Eva. My eyes flicker from his to hers.

"No, where is Corbyn?"

"He left," Eva repeats though Christian frowns and turns to her questionably.

"Right," He mumbles as if he remembered something.

"Come on, I'm not so stupid. Where is he?"

"He isn't here. Do you want me to give you a ride back home?" My lips split to talk but the noise stops me. From the corner of my eye, a door unlocks from the end of the corridor.

A blonde girl with long yet messy hair gets out. Her fingers are painted in red as they try to lower the hem of her short black skirt. Her white tight blouse contracts with her outfit. She leans up and I recognize Dakoda's face. A smirk forms on her lips before a tall boy follows her out too. His blonde hair glows as his hand runs through it.

My breath gets knocked out of me. I step back as if someone thrust me backward. His electric sapphire eyes raise and meet mine. He pales at the sight of me. The shock that crosses his face is enough for me to know. I blink away the tears and start running out of the house. I hear voices shouting my name but I don't stop.

I try my hardest not to burst into tears that I know I won't be able to stop from falling down. My beating heart has ceased pulsating. She has frozen yet blood slides from her new deep wound. I reach the front door running and burst out into the rain-drenched air. I feel the cold yet welcome ocean of raindrops dry my flesh. My clothes get stick to my skin instantly and at that moment, I let the tears escape. The rain gets mixed with my watery tears rapidly as I sob clasping my head.
