I stare at my lunch tray. I can't eat anything; the sight of food alone makes my stomach sick. People are walking, sitting at tables, taking their food, or talking and shouting around the school cafeteria. The noises and voices of the students have brought a new spirit of life yet I have no mood.

I glance towards Corbyn. He listens to Cyle who has leaned in the table discussing something serious by the sight of it. The frown hasn't left his face since the second I saw him this morning. Jacob interrupts Cyle.

"What is going on with you today?" Blare's voice brings me back to my miserable reality.

"I'm fine,"

"I was asking about you two," She explains waving her fingers between me and Corbyn. I shift in my chair and turn to see him. His eyes are already fixed on mine making my heart skip a beat. I look away quickly.

"We have some issues, I guess," I murmur. She gazes towards the boys before her eyes return back to me.

"Aren't you hungry?"

"Nope," I reply. "You can have it if you want," She smiles as she takes the small yogurt from my tray and circles her painted fingers around it. She digs her spoon inside and starts eating it. I browse at our table until I locate Anna's worried face.

"What's going on?" I ask and she shrugs putting her hair behind her left ear.

"I have a history test,"

"Do you want some help?"

"I'm just doing a quick check of the dates," I nod cupping my cheeks with my hands.

"Hey, Blare," Jacob cries. Her face flies upwards as she licks the white creme off her lips.

"Yea?"

"Can we reschedule?" Jacob pleads.

"You have a date?" I ask and her flaming eyes find mine.

"We had," She mumbles before she sits straight in her chair to appear taller.

"Why?" She places the yogurt at the table giving him her full attention. Jacob eyes the boys and I follow his gaze. Our eyes meet again but I tear my gaze away once again. Every time I see into his eyes, our conversation replays in my head reminding me of his harsh words and building my anger from the ground all over again.

"It's something we gotta do," Jacob explains.

"And it's more important, I assume?"

"Kind of, it's the hour we all can meet up. We can go out Sunday," Jacob proposes. I notice Eva, Cyle's sister, looking at Blare with a sympathetic smile while she sits across from me.

"If she says it's fine, it's a break-up coming," She whispers. Blare breathes in and plasters a huge fake grin on her lips.

"It's uhm..sure, I mean it...it's fine,"

I rest my elbows on the table pressing my lips together to suppress my laugher but when I watch at Eva and Anna, we burst into cathartic laugher. I lean back on my seat laughing so hard that my stomach hurts. Blare joins in as we surrender not caring that the boys and the tables close by staring at us.

"You're in so much trouble," Eva blurts our causing us to laugher harder. The boys look at us frowning as they have no idea what's happening.

"Honey, you cancel a date with me twice. What am I supposed to do? Am I important to you or not? I need to know I'm one of your priorities not just your fellas," My eyes scan the cafeteria and I locate a young boy.

"Because one day, we might leave and..." I stand up walking in his direction. "Oh, one of us is long gone already!" Blare cheers. "I guess we know who messed up," I run until he sees me and stops.

"Hey," Ethan greets me with a warm smile.

"Hi,"

"Everything okay?"

"Yes, I was thinking about what Mr. Jordan said about the song we need to find." He nods and I continue. "What do you think if we share our Spotify albums?"

"Yea, sure. That sounds good,"

"Okay, I'll text you when I have," I smile and turn back to our chattering table.

"Who was that?" Eva asks.

"Ethan, we dance together,"

"Is he single?"

"I think so," My phone buzzes, and my phone screen flashes as the notification appears. I look up to find Ethan grinning; I giggle when I scroll down his album's song.

"And has an amazing taste in music," I notice reading the titles of the songs in his collection.

"What the hell does he want?" Corbyn's angry voice cuts the silence. I look at him recalling his words.

"I wanted him for something,"

"For what?" The bell rings and I gather my stuff not answering his question. I leave without turning back.

When I walk towards my chemistry class, I see my angry angel at the side of Jace in front of their lockers. They change their books and I stop from the distance. The sunlight from the windows causes my angel's glittering skin to glow along with his blonde hair.

I bite my bottom lip in defeat. As much as I'm furious for the way he talked to me, I think we both might have said things we didn't mean. I don't want us to be like this. Collecting up all my courage, I decide to walk to him. But in my first step, I'm being pushed back.

"Get your fucking hand off of me!" A squeal is heard. I look around to find two boys opposite from each other sending glares on the other. The taller one shoves the shorter one that hits me and I lose my balance before I can get off of the way. The boy in front of me misses some of his steps and falls on me. A cry of surprise leaves my lips. Though, right before I collapse on the ground, two hands glide around me pulling against someone's chest. I don't have to look to know.

My heart ceases to beat as my angel's arms tighten around me. An ocean of desire is washed over me as his body is pressed against mine. He leaves me once I'm stable and with one quick move, he grabs the shirt of the tall boy thrusting him away from the other one.

"Get your goddamn fight somewhere else," He fizzes. "She almost fell and if I find one scratch on her, the next time I won't be so fucking talkative." The unknown boy nods not arguing.

"Sorry," The boy who caused me to fall says. I smile at him before Corbyn takes my hand. We walk away and I try to ignore the stares that follow every one of our moves. When we reach a calmer corridor, I take my hand away from his.

"Are you still mad?"

"Are you?" He asks instead.

"Yes,"

"Then I am too," He begins to stroll away but I stop him.

"Wait," His eyes fall on mine. "I just want you to answer me this. You were right. I'm whining, sensible, broken, clingy, and too weak for someone like you. I am. But why are wasting your time being with me then?"

He stays silent; his eyes keeping me hostage. They don't even blink as he stares at me. I can't understand what he's feeling like the first weeks we had met. I couldn't decipher his sentiments but I thought I was over that. He continues to peer at me not offering me an explanation until he moves closer to me.

My heart thuds as my blood pulsates inside my veins more rapidly and loudly than before. I gulp painfully feeling my breath abandoning me with blazing lugs. I think he is going to kiss me but when he approaches me, he just leaves bumping my shoulder in the process. I lock my eyes; desperate.

Things only kept going worst until that moment. In my last class, I tried turning my next page and frowned when I realized we had reached the end of the chapter.

"As you can see we have finished the chapter. Our test on the three last chapters will be in two days. Study hard," I hid my head on my head puffing out air. My eyes snapped open as I repeated the date. I blanched widening my eyes in shock. My heart started beating faster again as the bell rang for the termination of the period.

Time has passed. A lot of time. Half a year. Six months.

It has been six months since I lost them.
