"Lauren how many time should I remind you to stop making scenes especially at the campus" he said sternly but his voice was more of calm now than before.

I sigh and slump my back to the chair "well I didn't ask you to always remind me" I retorted which I'm aware that will only make him even more mad.

It's not my fault that I don't perform like what he want.

Sometimes his standards is just so easy to reach and I felt like I'm not enough to be who he wants.

"I want this to be the last time that you'll ever do something like that again"

At first I thought having a father whose an owner and principal of a school is super cool but now my mind changes.

Most of the time he's more of a principal than a father to me, it's just not fair. He understands me as a student but he doesn't understand me as a daughter.

I flinched as soon as he yelled and I look at him defenselessly before nodding "yes sir".

"Good you're dismissed"

I quivered my lips before standing up and leaving his office.

We're not even in campus. We're at home but he would often make it pass whatever trouble I'm doing in school then boom when we comes home it's where all scolding happens.

It just sucks.

"Lauren sweetie are you okay?" Mum asked as soon as I got out from Dad's office, I sigh deeply before forcing a smile to appear in my lips.

"Yes Mom I'm fine".

She frown and open her arms wide, sometimes she do understand me which is enough for me at least I still have mom, dad? Nah I felt like I have a principal at home.

"I'm going to my room" I mumble lowly, she gives me a concern and worried look but I blink my eyes giving her a sign that I just want to rest.

Sometimes when you're mouth can't speak anymore because of pain you just let your actions show how bad you want to rest.

I open my door and throw myself into the bed, grabbing a pillow then burying my face onto it.

My pillow is the witness how sad I am every single night.

Things just don't go as I expected sometimes.

"Lauren sis get up breakfast is ready"

I groan before shifting on my bed as I roll into the other side.

"Lauren"

I squinted my eyes and saw Taylor standing beside my bed.

"Whose there?" I asked and she furrow her eyebrows in confusion unaware of what I meant by that.

"Whose eating breakfast right now?" I asked again clearing out the words.

She made a realization face "oh well mom dad and me, Chris has already gone out early...dad ask me to get you"

There's no way I'm going to eat breakfast with them it'll just go messed up.

"I'll go down in few" I told Taylor.

She shrug before turning around "hurry okay".

I nod but it was a lie...I'm not going to join them for breakfast, there's no way im getting in an awkward conversation early in the morning.

I grab my phone and decide to text Lucy.

: Hey bish come pick me up and let's go to Starbucks for breakfast

Lucy: only if your treat ;)

Goddamn I think she's gonna be the cause if I ever gone out broke in money.

I Huff heavily before tucking out the blanket off of me.

I walk towards my wardrobe and grab a towel, I'm going to shower first before Lucy could even get here.

Maybe a two hour shower would be a great distraction.

Or maybe ten minutes is enough.

Once I've put up almost everything I need to apply I grab my bag and check myself in the mirror first before locking my room and proceeding downstairs.

As I made my way to the living room I saw lucy sitting comfortably while talking to Mom.

"Hey I'm ready let's go" I said making a presence.

"Lauren dear there you are why didn't you join us for breakfast hun?" Mom asked as soon as she notice me standing behind the wall.

I want to avoid that question so I decide to ask something else "He already go?" I asked and she knew I was referring to dad, I wouldn't be surprised if he already left he always need to be at the campus early.

"No I haven't actually and aren't you gonna answer your mother's question?" I tense up as dad suddenly appears beside me with arms crossed.

Dang dead.

"Why you didn't join us at breakfast?" He asked with no expression.

I glanced at Lucy and give her a bitch help me the fuck out look.

Which seems to be noticeable and she instantly make the excuse.

"Um lauren here promise me that she'll treat me breakfast today" Lucy spoke out and luckily dad turn his attention to her.

"Is that so?".

Lucy nod and there's no clues of nervousness or intimidation in her face, that's another thing I like about her.

She handle everything so chill.

"Yeah and our class will start soon so we really need to catch our breakfast".

Dad turn his attention to me then fix his tie "alright have fun you too...I'll see you Lauren at campus"

He turn around and went outside.

Sighing to myself I gave Lucy a thankful look.

"Bye mum I'll see you later" I mumble then kiss her on the cheek.

"Take care you two".

I waited first until dad's car has totally drive off before I get inside Lucy's passenger seat.

"So did you and your dad fought again?"

She asked and I stayed silent she knew when I'm silent it means I don't want to talk about that thing.

"Alright alright drop it let's just go and get breakfast that's what's important because I'm hella starving" she joked playfully before starting the engine and driving off.

I don't mind hanging out with her forever just to escape and keep myself distracted.
