Meanwhile...

Pax walked into the room where Orb was. She looked up, despair her eyes. Orb was a glowing porcelain ball.

"Orb! I'm here to help!"

"How is physically healing me going to help the problem?"

"What's the problem?"

"I don't have a soul like everyone else. If the Diamond Plains are gone, then I've only got days left. They're what my creator uses to channel his essence from himself into me to compensate for my lack of a soul."

"So you're cut off."

"More or less..."

"I still won't give up. Maybe I can find a way to get you one."

"You have to be born with one. And I am not that lucky as far back as I can remember."

"...Maybe my healing you can produce the one you need."

"I don't have a good feeling about that."

"It's worth a shot."

"All right, but don't say I didn't warn you."

"I won't."

Pax's hands glowed white as he tried to touch and heal Orb. Upon touching her, a loud crackling flash and smoke came from them, and then when the smoke cleared, they disappeared. The others ran in, hearing the commotion. Upon seeing they were gone, Launch Pad's heart rate went up, and a knot tied in his throat.

"What did he do?"

Agate shrugged. "I don't know what, but the beeping thingy is still tracking a heartbeat."

"That's impossible. I regularly check my equipment for issues."

"And yet it does that."

Arrowhead walked up to the bed and tried pulling the sheets away but somehow they wouldn't budge.

"Something is wrong. The sheets won't budge."

Agate scoffed. "Black Rose, you're just weak. Let me try."

He walked over and tried to pull them.

"These are heavier than I thought, hold on."

He tugged as hard as he could but they still wouldn't budge.

"Is someone invisible sleeping on these?"

"So much for weak."

CC interjected. "Hush up, Riptide. This is serious. We need to figure out what's going on."

Agate looked at her as if she was wearing a clown wig. "How will we? This is just insanity."

"Most likely something odd is going on with her voidwatcher-fairy godfather whatever." Arrowhead replied.

"Well, we'll soon see."
