Back in Pentref, on Earth, a few people gathered in a warehouse. They were the last villains in the city not in prison.

Lighight- 10, looks 24. Note Card created Lighight, he said she'd stay in Diamond Domain for her whole life. She manipulates light. She was something he made to be a sidekick, but that didn't work. After trying to be a hero, and giving up after realizing the high standards she had to attain. Begrudgingly, she went back to him. Now, without the diamond plains, they had nowhere to go.

Note Card- 33. Avid technician and fighter. He created Lighight, and keeps her on a tight leash.

Mirror - 34. Arrogant manipulative lady who can reflect projectiles targeted at her back at the attacker.

Bucket- Shy lady. Follows Mirror like a puppy, as she has since the age of 14 up to age 20 today. Can manipulate large volumes of water.

Toffee- 43. Arguably a noble evil. Mirror has not abused Bucket primarily because Toffee would stop her. Instantly. She can shoot acid out of her hands but this affects her eyesight badly if used for more than a few hours at a time.

They were at a table. Mirror, Bucket, Note Card, Lighight and Toffee were playing poker.

Note Card put down his cards and took out his cigar.

"Well, Mirror. Fancy meeting the broad who took down the Bank on Eighth White Avenue. I hear you're an anarchist."

"Hahaha! No, I'm honest with myself about what I am. Born and bred criminal. Stealing, carjacking, and vandalism. I hear you're a warlock."

"Ha! Warlock. I wish. If I was, Lighight and I wouldn't be making deals with you. I dabble, I created her, but it's not my profession. Petty crime is my profession. What about you, Toffee?"

"I'm Mirror's right hand gal. I keep our team together, and the profit coming in. Not my choice of profession, but my team is priority, and tacticians are needed anyway."

"All right. What do we do now that there are monsters roaming the streets?" Note Card asked.

"Let the heroes deal with it." said Mirror.

"No. We should help. If the city gets destroyed, we have to move to other cities where there are actual qualified police. Those guys will not go as easy on us as the kids with superpowers will and Soshi is long gone." Toffee replied.

"Toffee is right. Our turf isn't something to be messed with. PR might see us helping and give us time to prepare for a push against the heroes. Agate almost dissolved the teams until something strange happened almost a week ago.
Something leading to the diamond domains disappearing." Note Card replied.

"That reminds me, how are you doing, Lighight?" Toffee asked.

"Not as good as I used to be. My eyes stopped glowing. I'm not as excited to do things. I've had nosebleeds more often than ever."

"That's disturbing."

Note Card rolled his eyes. "She'll be fine. Once I get the revenge on Orb I desire, I can use her life force to fix Lighight."

"If Orb is even around."

Mirror just laughed. "I got to her first. She got her little derriere handed to her. I didn't know about Lighight's issue. She was strong but connected to an entity who left her for dead over a bunch of worthless crystals."

"...Do not mock the dead, Mirror."

"Oh, Toffee, you think she's so well off as a hero, why aren't you one?"

"Because, Mirror, I have a duty. It is my pride at stake when I fail my duties to keep our team functioning safely and effectively."

"What do you think? That you're family to me?"

"No, but Bucket is family to me, and as long she follows you, I will too."

Note Card interrupted. "Sounds pretentious, but you're getting us off topic, so we'll put this to a vote. Shall we go fight those monsters?"

Bucket and Lighight put up a thumbs up. Toffee did so too. Note Card made no sign, and Mirror made a thumbs down. The vote was clear. They would go and fight. They cleaned up, and left.
