Once they were sure they were out of earshot, Orb spoke.

"Your Majesty, do you believe in reincarnation?"

"Only in your cases."

"Well, Obliv's first life was spent as a Golden Crown like you, similar Jewel patterns and everything. Mine was as his wife to be, Tiara."

"...Prove it, recite the rhymes."

Orb took a deep breath.

"At the end of a kingdom now dead,
It's last twelve thousand people fled.
From a home with endless walls of art,
through a great cave to places ages and worlds apart.

The last king, a crown of gold,
gave his twelve sons twelve keys and a book of old.
After a final feast in that cave so vast,
each son with a key, ready at last,

To take a thousand each as the keys would lead,
And to their end, they did succeed.
And so today, we have this rhyme,
as old as stone, as old as time.

Each found a new world to call home,
Each brother a king on merits his own.
But should the Gelten Dynasty end before finding the broken moon,
the Abominable King shall rise again soon.

Should a brother, or his descendants,
regain the keys triumphant,
In their hands the last key turns gold.
The bearer is then the Broken Sun, foreseen from days of old.

Should it then turn silver in a lady's hand,
The lady shall be given the title so grand,
The blessed title of the Broken Moon,
Both to be wedded in undying union soon."

"All right, show me the key."

She nodded and pulled out a rusted, extremely old key, and placed it in his hand. The rust fell away and turned to gold in his hand. He gasped.

"Oh...God. This...this is not possible. I have no ability to be the Broken Sun."

"Indeed you do, your Majesty. The key will not make a mistake."

"But who is the Broken Moon?"

"I do not know."

Obliv looked over and spotted CD Case watching around the corner.

"CD CASE, WE ASKED FOR PRIVACY!"

"Nonono, I won't tell anyone! I was just really curious. This magic stuff is really fascinates me."

Regnon snapped his fingers. "All right. If it's so fascinating, why don't you try holding the key then?"

He tossed the key to Orb, who handed it to CD Case. Obliv and Orb's eyes went wide as the key turned a bright sheen silver. CD Case and Regnon turned a bright shade of embarrassed red.

"This is not the time for me to be dating royalty. Especially not someone who seems like he would be a skirt chaser."

"As much as I'm offended by that last statement, I agree. We cannot be compatible, and there's a reality warping nut job on the loose."

"The key does not lie, or make mistakes."

"...You will tell nobody of this, you understand?" Regnon's tone shifted to agitation.

Orb nodded, almost indifferent to it. Obliv spoke then.

"What will you do to her if she does?"

"I'm going to be upset with her."

"How specific."

"Please, stop bickering! We can't do this now! We have bigger fish to fry!" CD Case interrupted, getting between them and pushing them apart.

"All right, then, Your Highness." Obliv jeered. Orb slapped his face with the back of her hand.

"Ow!"

"This is not a laughing matter. We need to return to pursuing Adversary. She's guaranteed to make eternal night fall upon all the cosmos if we don't stop her."

"All right, all right. Let's go find Agate, we'll discuss this later."
