"Where is he?" I asked Gloria, the receptionist at the desk. "Room twenty-four," she replied and I bolted in the direction.

When I entered the room, my father was laying on the hospital bed with nurses holding him down. "He is going into shock, Knight," Doctor Eviz tells me. "What the bloody hell? Why didn't anyone tell me about this sooner?" I asked them while putting on the gloves. "We had it under control until I tampered with something around the bullet, he could die, Knight," Eviz tells me, and deep inside I was panicking like the little I truly was but I couldn't let that control me.

"Move over," I mumbled and grabbed the small torch to check his eyes. He was knocked out like Evander. He isn't as strong as Evander and even one bullet to the chest could kill him in three hours if it isn't treated quickly. "Get the shots to make the shock stop," I ordered Eviz and within six seconds I had the syringe in my hand. I stuck it into the main vein on his arm and his body quickly stopped. He laid looking lifeless on the bed but the machine told me his heart was still beating. "Is the king alright?" I asked them seeing that he sounded hurt and exhausted every time we spoke.

"He just left to see the queen," one of the nurses answered. "I can take care of my father, thanks, and can you call my family?" I spoke to nobody in particular since there were three nurses and one doctor in the room with me.

"Sure," Eviz replied and I heard the door open and shut. I didn't bother checking if I was alone, I just got the bullet out of my father, cleaning his gunshot wound, and gave him the needed vaccinations and medications in the form of injections before leaving with the medical tray and walking back in the direction of Evander's room but there was a warrior guarding the door.

"Nobody can enter," he flatly stated with his arms across his chest. "I'm the doctor that treated your Alpha," I informed him and watched as he glanced down my body before allowing me to enter the room.

My eyes locked on his sleeping body. I felt the need to run my hands through his thick black waves but I don't. Without realizing it, I was nibbling the corner of my lip. I'm mated to the most ruthless and careless alpha to roam earth right now. Was that a blessing because to me it seemed like the moon goddess was cursing me. I wondered what color his eyes are.

Sure I've seen him before at galas and such but since I reached fifteen I stopped going to them because they were never of interest to me. In fact, I hate galas and being formal. We've never spoken but I sure have noticed him. He was created like a God and had girls turning their heads wherever he walked because he was that beautiful. But deadly. Two terrible combinations.

Shaking my head, I tore my eyes away and made sure Beta Brandon was knocked out before grabbing the tray of bullets and leaving.

I have no idea where Jayden went and I have no idea what this ambush was about. Something was telling me not to worry but I had to. My father was hurt and the king was attacked. From what I gathered they were transporting here when they were attacked by rogues and Evander nearly died saving the king. Right? I have no idea because I'm assuming.

Alpha Evander.

Sighing, I left the room and found myself in the elevator. When the doors open, I walked into the lab upstairs. "Rieka!" Ethan smiled when he saw me. "Thank God you're here, I need you to find out whatever you can about these bullets. These are what my father and Alpha Evander were attacked with," I explained and slid the tray over to him. No doubt he already heard the news about the ambush. "I'll take care of it and get back to you," he said and I took my leave.

When I made it back downstairs, my mother and Jayden had already arrived at the hospital. "Oh honey," my mom whimpered as I hugged her. A lot has happened today and all of it scared me even more than the last. I needed a comforting hug from my mother. We stayed like that for a while and she allowed me, probably telling me that I needed it before I pulled away.

"Is the alpha and beta okay?" Jayden asked and I nodded. "Beta Brandon is sleeping while he heals and Alpha Evander is unconscious but should awake soon," I stated with a smile. But my smile breaks when I thought about my future. What's going to happen to me when he wakes up? I'm not Luna material. Would he reject me? Definitely.

"You okay?" Mom asked, snapping me out of my thoughts. "Yeah," I lied. "I should go run some tests on them to compare them to when they wake up, I'll see you guys in a bit right?" I said and don't wait for them to reply before I left.

I seem to always come back into this room. Into his room. White, my wolf, wants me to stay here with him and never leave but I knew that can't happen. Hesitantly, I placed my hand on his cheek and inhaled deeply at the tingles that shot through my body from the skin contact. His skin felt soft and smooth but flaming with sparks at the same time. My fingers drift upwards and soon I felt his perfect curls between my fingers. His hair was actually really soft like I thought.

"I'm never going to be able to do this again," I sighed my words to my wolf, finally speaking to her since we found our mate. "Yes you would and I can't wait for when he awakes!" She cheers and I inwardly sighed. She's so positive and I want to be like her but something tells me that it isn't going to happen. I pulled my hand away as if he was fire and focused on doing the tests.

I needed to concentrate on my work.

When I was finished and had everything written down on the clipboard, I placed it on the holder outside of the door before leaving the room. When I walked back into my father's room, he was leaning against the headboard with a big smile on his face.

"Dad! You're up!" I say and darted towards him. My father raised off the bed so we could hug properly," I missed you," I mumbled against his chest. "I missed you too, Rieka."
