Aria smiled as she relived the memory of the first night she met JJ, salty tears running down her cheeks as the dress she wore wrinkled beneath her.

Instead of it being all picture perfect it was nothing but shattered reality, her feet carried her to the beginning of the socks, a distressed Sarah leaning against the posts.

Her eyes fell on Aria as she neared her, she stood up, tucking a hair behind her ear as she walked closer, "Ari."

"Hey, Sar. You look terrible. Get any sleep last night?" Aria said in a serious tone, the dark circles surrounded her eyes were clear to the human eyes.

Sarah laughed, biting her lower lip, "Not really. I know this is really sudden but everyone believes it was John B. We were there, Aria. We know the truth and we need to tell somebody before it's too late."

Aria nodded, a police car passing them caught their attention, "I think it might already be too late."

The drive down to the pop up police tents was horrible, both girls shaking with nerves as they drove, discussing their plan of action once they arrived.

They knew it wasn't going to be easy. Every single eye was on John B, and now two girls show up claiming to be there might change it? Maybe not but they had to try. It was for John B.

The area was crowded with people, every tent serving some meaning as they were spread around the grass, different uniforms passed them, they had called down every station in the Outer Banks, Aria was right, it was already to late.

"Excuse me." Sarah called as they stepped into a large white tent, no body even glanced their way, to busy typing on their computers or taking statements

"Is this all for John B?" Aria whispered, mainly to herself as she examined every detail, watching the way the officers were taking over the island.

"I want to talk to someone in charge. You're going after the wrong guy!" Sarah raised her voice, catching one of their officers attention as he stepped over to her.

"Relax! Ma'am, relax." He ordered, taking in her state, "I just want to talk to someone." Sarah breathed, attempting to keep her patience in order as she slowly began to loose it.

He wrapped his hand around her arm, "Come with me."

"Let go of her." Aria narrowed her eyes at him as she held her other arm, watching as Sarah wriggled her arm to get out of his hold, "No, you don't understand. Let go of me! Excuse me! SBI guy!"

"Ma'am!"

"Hi, my name is Sarah Cameron." Sarah yanked her arm from him as another man approached, the look on his face read that he was done with the bullshit.

Aria didn't know what to do, her brain jumbled up with so many things she couldn't process what was happening, she did the only thing she could think of, "I'm Aria Campbell, we were on the tarmac with Sheriff Peterkin. We know what happened."

The more intent looking officer paused at her words, the look still on his face but he most definitely heard her, Sarah was still in the other mans hold, "Please, we just want to talk!"

He walked over, "All right, all right. Sir." He gestured to the other officer, Sarah's arm dropping back down to her side as she shoved herself into Aria.

"How can I help you, ma'am?" He asked, his eyes on Aria.

Before she could answer someone else ripped her away from him, "There you are!" Victor wrapped his arm around her wrist, pulling him towards her as Ward came around the corner, doing the same to Sarah.

"Oh, my God. I've been looking everywhere for you, sweetheart." Ward said innocently, making them both disgusted at him.

"No, no." Aria trembled, pushing her father away but he didn't budge, his finger nails digging into her soft skin as he smiled at the officer in front of them.

Victor pulled her back, "We gotta let these people do their jobs. I'm very sorry."

Sarah looked over at Aria, seeing the way she was frozen in her fathers hold, they were both terrified of the men that they thought were going to protect them from the bad in life but instead they were the bad, "John B didn't shoot Peterkin!"

Ward held a tighter grip on his daughter, "Sarah! I can tell you that is not true. I gave a sworn deposition. She wasn't there. She doesn't know."

Tears fell from their cheeks, feeling as if all hope was gone. Wiped out from their lives.

Aria shook her head fast, "No. No! That's a lie! I was there! She was there! You have to believe us. Everything he's saying is a lie!"

"Fine!" Victor yelled, "Who did it, then, Aria? Who killed Sheriff Peterkin?"

Aria flicked her eyes from the officer, staring at Sarah, the blonde nodded softly, giving her permission.

Tears fell down her rosy cheeks, "Rafe."

"Rafe. Jesus. God." Ward laughed, in shock that she would actually throw him under the bus as if they never once loved each other.

The officer just parted his mouth at the new information, not believing it, Sarah shot up, "My brother Rafe shot Sheriff Peterkin. I saw. He had the gun."

"He was home. My wife can attest to that. I apologize." Ward defended, pulling Sarah back and away from the officer in hopes that she'd just quiet down.

"No! No! No!" Aria jerked her body forwards, she wanted nothing to do with the man behind her at this moment, she was scared of him. Scared of what he'd do to her.

"Please, sweetie. Quiet. Stop." Victor held a smile on his face as dropped his hand to her arm, his finger tips pressing into her once more.

"How long have you been lying to us?" Sarah cried, looking over her shoulder to stare at her beloved father, her body moving towards the side so she was able to stare at him, "Who are you?"

"My officer's gonna take really good care of you, all right?" The SBI officer backed away, another officer taking his place as the teenage girls sobbed.

"Don't go!" Sarah sobbed, still withering in Ward's grip as their only chance of saving John B was walking away from them.

Aria let her cry's escape, her head dropping down as she let go, the tears becoming more fluent as she listened to her best friend scream, "Everything he's saying is a lie! Liar!"

"I appreciate this, Officer. As you can see, this has been hell for us." Victor thanked, shaking Aria's arm harshly, gesturing for her to lift her head up.

"I just need to talk to someone." Aria scolded, mascara staining her cheeks as her eyes were mostly red at this point.

"Ma'am, pipe down."

Victor glanced at Ward, his jaw clenched as he knew they were fucked well that was until he lied straight to the officers face, "My daughter is falling apart right here. She was just diagnosed as bipolar, and right now, she's in a relationship, a very unhealthy relationship, with this... well, with your suspect. She is 16, and she's..."

Sarah yanked her body away from him, her eyes wide as she listened to him, "Let go of me!"

"Protecting him." He finished, swallowing as he rubbed her arm gently.

Aria laughed, "How long did it take you to come up with that?" Her skin burned with pain as her father furiously dug his nails into her skin, marks showing almost right away, she hissed, "Ow! Let me go!"

"I can't even tell you the number this guy has done on her." Ward continued, burning a hole through Victors side as Aria kept speaking, "He has her so brainwashed, she doesn't even see him for what he is, and that is a very bad guy. I know he uses drugs. He was involved in an assault with a weapon, all right? More recently, I caught him trying to steal one of my WaveRunners. I confronted him about it, and he physically attacked me and stabbed me in my arm. And that was the assault that Sheriff Peterkin came to the airport to discuss with me. And while we were talking, he shows up... and he shoots her."

Sarah was utterly baffled by his lies, her eyes-brows furrowing with anger as he fed them false accusations, "No!"

"And it's breaking her."
