Archie sent over a nice woman named Rachel who dressed the royal family often. She brought so many nice dresses to my house so of course, I asked a few of my friends to come over to help me pick one out.

The more dresses I tried on, the more it became obvious to me that there was a very obvious dress code. Shoulders covered, floor-length gown, no cut-outs or slit, and no crazy patterns.

I turned around in a yellow dress, "What do you think?"

"I hate it." Sydney said immediately

Emma cleared her throat, "I don't hate it, but it's very shapeless and doesn't flatter your figure."

Rachel looked at me, "I agree."

Romona shrugged, "I do like the color."

I sent a text to Peyton and she also wasn't a fan of the dress.

So it was on to the seventh one.

This one was a beautiful blue color that wasn't too deep or too light. The dress was fitted and had short sleeves. There was also a split cape on the back that was almost a train.

"I personally love this one." I looked in the mirror

Rachel nodded, "Trust me when I say this is the one you want to wear. Especially with this gorgeous dangly earrings."

She clipped the earrings on to my ear and I turned to my friends. They all nodded with approval.

"Please wear that one with nude heels. It would be gorgeous." Emma smiled as she clapped her hands together

Rachel took a few pictures and then hung the dress up for me in a protective cover. She left and Sydney made the rest of us tea.

"So are you nervous about tomorrow?" Emma questioned me, "Like that event is a huge deal."

I nodded, "I'm aware it is. I already feel as if I'm not the most liked girlfriend he's had."

Emma gave me a look, "He's a cutie, Alena, but are you sure you want to be with him? It's not like dating someone who is famous or even fiftieth in line for the throne. You're dating the future king."

"Plus British tabloids aren't like American ones. Your big scandal won't be that you killed a tree but they'll say you're responsible for global warming. Plus the fact that you're a woman of color isn't helping." Romona muttered the last sentence

"Honestly if she were white they'd love her." Emma shrugged with a small smile, "It's the sad truth."

Sydney slammed her hand down, "I told her this."

"I'm aware of all of that." I reminded them, "No one could understand the way he makes me feel. He's like the best person ever."

"Alena! It's only been what? Two months? If even. You barely know the guy." Sydney fussed

I let out a laugh, "Weren't you the one who encouraged me to get with him in the first place? Yes."

"That's before I realized the gravity of the situation." she defended herself

"You know what? I'm not arguing with you guys. If I want to date him then I will. It's my life. If the it all comes crumbling down then oh well, at least I knew it made me happy while it lasted." I said what I had to say before I left them standing right there. I wasn't about to defend my relationship because truthfully it was none of their business.

Well, he is their future king so I guess they had a small right to care but it wasn't like I had any malicious intent with Archie.

I just wanted love and to be loved.

Rachel came back over the next day to help me get ready for the Christmas Tree Lightening Gala. She brought over people to help me with my makeup, hair and getting dressed. I looked in the mirror and I couldn't believe it was me.

"Now that's my future queen." Rachel whispered in my ear, "You look beautiful, Alena."

I smiled, "Thank you."

"Archie is here." Sydney handed me my phone, "Have fun tonight."

"Thank you." I gave her a grin before I left. Archie was standing at my door looking all dapper. It kinda took my breath away.

He looked me up and down, "You are gorgeous."

I gave him a kiss and then wiped the lipstick off of his lip, "You're so damn handsome."

"I know I keep saying this, but you're so damn beautiful." he said before he helped me into the limousine

I held onto his hand for the entire ride to the palace. His whole family was dressed up so beautifully. I got to meet Matilda's boyfriend who of course was some aristocrat.

"You look beautiful, Alena." Ruth complimented me which took me off guard

"Thank you." I beamed

A frantic palace worker came running holding a clipboard, "I need everyone's attention for the order of procession tonight."

"First Princess Victoria and Princess Alexandra will go together followed by Princess Matilda and Mr. Robert York. Next will be Prince Archibald and Miss Amaryllis Thompson. Finally, King Winston and Duchess Ruth." she announced

Archie took my hand, "You ready?"

I nodded, "As long as you're there."

He kissed my hand, "I'm always here for you."

I watched his sisters all go down the stairs and before we knew it, it was our turn.

Archie squeezed my hand, "Let's do it."

As soon as we started walking down the stairs, every single camera began flashing and people began murmuring.

We stood to the side as his Dad came down the stairs with Ruth. His Dad then began to give a speech about the importance of giving. I didn't know this event was a toy drive and a gala.

We sat down at a long table to eat while some local school's choir sang. Then an orchestra started to play.

Archie looked over at me, "Wanna waltz?"

"Of course." I agreed as we jointed the other couples on the dance floor. I felt like we were the only people in the room.

"Come over tonight." Archie whispered into my ear, "I want you to feel every inch of me as I slide into you. I want to look into your eyes and give you soft kisses everywhere on your body. I want you to want me so bad and then at the end of the night we'll fall asleep and cuddle."

This was my first royal event and he was whispering this into my ear.

"I'm going to kill you." I spoke through my smile

"Do it in bed then baby." he smirked

I squeezed his hand tighter, "We're getting out of here as soon as we can."

And we did. We didn't answer any questions from the press, we just drove up to Archie's house in Hampstead and did everything that he whispered into my ear. Then we ordered pizza and ate that in bed.

I scrolled through the Instagram feed of 'The Galaxy' which was one of the most popular British tabloids. Their most recent post was one of me and Archie walking down the stairs and I couldn't help but look at the comments

Archie looked over at what I was doing and took my phone.

"Don't look at that trash." he told me

I sighed as my eyes met his, "People are saying a lot."

"You shouldn't worry about them." Archie brushed off

"It's hard not to. This is all so new to me, you know?" I began, "Not even with the tabloids but with Christmas tree lightening, fancy titles, and oh dating a prince."

Archie rubbed my thigh, "I guess I have changed your life a lot in the past few months."

"I don't want you to feel bad because of course, I'll get over this but most of all I want you. And if it comes with all of this then so be it." I assured him

He kissed my cheek, "You must really like me then."

"Love." I corrected him, "I really do."

"I want you to meet my friends. Maybe my friends and your friends could all go clubbing at the exclusive one we met at." Archie proposed

I nodded, "Sounds good, just give me a date."

"Ok." he put my phone on the nightstand and laid down, "I also just wanted to say thank you for coming tonight. I know I've thrown you into this world quick but you've handled it so graciously. Plus you're so good to me, Lainey, thank you for loving me. You don't even understand, it's been a long time since I've felt like this."

Aww.

I could feel my eyes and nose crinkle, "Of course baby. Now let's get some sleep."
