Monday creeped up much too quickly.

Jordan hurled into me, the second I walked through the front doors to the school and began talking about something akin to COD and tentacle porn.

Rachel wove into her natural habitat, with Ryan, leaning against a wall, smokey eyed with a cigarette while Ryan ranted on about his weekend.

Everything was perfectly normal.

I walked to class with Jordan for biology, a smile subconsciously tugging at my lips as I went about my day. Maybe it was just me, but everywhere seemed brighter, in a good way.

"Take your seats, everyone" Ms Davis called as soon as we stepped into the biology class. I found a seat in the back, beside Jordan who was surprisingly still intent on staying as far away from her ex, Jake as possible.

I never thought I'd live to see the day Jordan learned something.

The class filed in steadily and I found myself staring off into nothing as the teacher droned on. My thoughts seemed to always circle back to a particular dimple-faced topic.

"Yo" I came to reality when Jordan smacked me over the head with a book, making me glare at her.

"What?" I asked. She pointed to the black board where Ms Davis was scribbling down the words in bold: BIOLOGY PARTNERSHIP PROJECT. I groaned.

"I hope I get someone hot" she said as names were listed of the partnerships and I scowled. Great. Just when I thought this day was going good, I get dumped on a dumb project with someone I probably didn't know.

"Dorothy Sawdon and Haley Ives"

Eyes shot to mine from across the room, a head of pretty honey-coloured hair turning to me. I smiled slightly when I recognized the girl from the GSA. Haley, was it? She wasn't so bad.

She gave me a shy smile back before turning back to the board, her cheeks worryingly red. Cute.

Jordan got partnered with a kid named Doochi, and would not stop bitching about it, as the class ended. She shoved her books in her bag with a sour look on her face as students filed out.

I smirked at her.

"Why are you so pissy?" I asked her, slinging my bag over my shoulder. Jordan shot me a look but kept quiet, effectively shocking me. I raised my hands in surrender, heading for the door with her when none other than Doochi came stumbling toward us.

I almost burst out laughing at Jordan's constipated face.

"H-hey" he said when he came up to Jordan, holding a pile of books to his chest and shifting his stocky glasses. He was shorter than Jordan, but about my height. His red cheeks darkened at Jordan's look but I was going to say that he wasn't exactly Jordan's type.

"Hi, kid" she said, making him redden even more, if it was possible. "C'mon, D"

She began to walk away, linking her arm with mine before--

"Wait!" Doochi called and ran up to us. He handed Jordan a piece of paper which she eyed before taking. Then he practically sprinted away.

"What is it?" I peeked over her shoulder, taking a look at the paper in her hands. She was looking at the drawing with confused eyes, like she didn't understand it.

It was a portrait of herself, a very good one at that.

"Aww" I cooed, reaching for it. "I think he likes you"

She blushed, then turned to me with a creepy smirk. "And I think she does you"

She nodded her head behind me, making me turn to see none other than Haley, with her floral-dress friends, all giggling at me before I looked at them.

Haley went red again and her friends erupted in a fit of giggles.

"Uh--"

"Hey Harley!" Jordan hollered, making me cringe and elbow her. She ignored me. "come here"

"Her name is Haley--, and what the fuck do you think you're doing?!" Jordan grinned wickedly and mouthed; payback.

Surely enough, since I seemed to have crossed some ancient diety, Haley approached us, her hands in the pockets of her denim jacket, that same shy smile on her face.

Oh, great.

Jordan gave me a pat on the shoulder before leaving, "Good luck" she sang.

Haley stopped in front of me, her face red, hands fiddling with the end of her skirt.

"Hi" she muttered, her voice timid. "You're Dorothy, right? I'm Haley, your biology partner-- B-but you probably know that, of course you do you were in the class and even-- I'm rambling" she blushed. "Sorry"

I gave her a small smile and extended my hand. "Yeah, I'm Dorothy. That would be me" she took my hand and I swore I saw her shiver. "You're the GSA president, right?"

"Y-yes!" she said. "The other day, I wanted to talk to you about the GSA but you were busy..."

"Oh yeah, sorry" I said, growing awkward, seeing as she had not left my hand. Just then, she seemed to notice and dropped my hand as though it were on fire, then her cheeks flamed.

Geez.

"So about the GSA.." I said to snap her out of it and she smiled gratefully.

"Y-yeah, we're the ones in the AP chemistry lab on the second hall, we have meetings every day after school and even on Saturdays. At my place, of course" she said in a breath. "We always welcome new members, and I'd love--like if you'd come"

I smiled. "I dunno... Maybe. Probably"

I glanced behind me to see Jordan giving me a thumbs up with a wide grin. I flipped her off, descreetly.

Haley nodded. "Well, let me know" she waved and I didn't wait for her to be two paces away before I went to glare at Jordan, storming off past her.

"Ah, come one, D, I was just trying to help" she whined. "You haven't seen anyone in months. And that girl's cute, isn't she?"

I said nothing, only glanced at her from the corner of my eye.

"Oh, come on not the silent treatment"

She whined all the way to the next class.

A/N.

An update? Wow, who saw that coming. Not me.
Leave a vote if you want, while I work on the next chapter. I haven't been able to stop studying, seeing as my GCEs are coming up.

Love you lots for reading. 💋
